So after playing horde of exciting characters, RAQEEB has me playing a struggling actor who has been going through a screwed up career and now wants to give one last shot to make his life rock." So how does his character come on screen? "My character is that of a struggler with grey shades and I can assure you that whenever I come on screen, there would be 'seetis' and 'taalis' all over. 'Main Tera Hero' trailer crosses two million views
David Dhawan's latest directorial venture "Main Tera Hero" has got over two million hits on video-sharing website YouTube. The first trailer of the film that features David's son Varun in the lead role with Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri, was launched on Youtube Jan 23. The actor took to microblogging website Twitter to thank his fans. "I do read all your tweets. Also the 'Main Tera Hero' trailer hit two million views, thanks to you people honestly. I feel blessed because of you," Varun tweeted Thursday. Produced under Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures banner, "Main Tera Hero" will hit the screens April 4.
'Main Tera Hero' crosses Rs.20 crore mark
Varun Dhawan-starrer “Main Tera Hero” has earned over Rs.20 crore in its opening weekend. The entertainer has collected a whopping net amount of Rs.22.73 crore in its opening weekend, said a statement. Directed by David Dhawan and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, actor Tusshar Kapoor is happy with the figures as the movie performed well despite the World Twenty20 final between India and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh April 6. It is a mix of the commercial content, Varun's screen presence and the movie's promotions that have worked in favour of the entertainer, says an expert. “So, ‘Main Tera Hero’ withstood the opposition of the two big T20 World Cup matches (with India playing) to safely collect a Rs.20 crore+ weekend, cheers,” Tusshar, the brother of producer Ekta Kapoor, tweeted. Released in approximately 2,500 screens, the movie was made under a budget of around Rs.50 crore. “‘Main Tera Hero’ is more commercial than ‘Jal’, which also released on April 4. It’s got the combination of Varun and David and since it is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, it is well promoted,” Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS. “Jal” on the other hand, is directed by first-timer Girish Malik and stars Purab Kohli as the lead actor. “It is for a select audience, so it earned less than Rs.50 lakh in three days,” said Thadani.

Your Place Or Mine, says Abhishek
'Your Place Or Mine.' Well, this done-to-death pickup up line is being made famous by Abhishek Bachchan's Cell Phone Advertisement that is hogging the Telly Space these days. A Cool-as-a-pineapple Aby saunters towards a couple of pretty-young-things in a pub and passes on his mobile phone discreetly for them to see the suggestive message written with a precision. The girls gush over the sexy looking phone and coo-with-delight: 'Thanks.' A lot is being said about this advert these days. A few of the uncharitable remarks are reserved for Abhishek's 'double chin', 'the corny one liner' and some say 'it is not in good taste'. Well, the kind of persona AB Junior carries, somehow the double chin doesn't matter in that. He had a visible paunch in his most memorable performance in 'Yuva' but nobody seems to have noticed that. His flirtatious, cool and single status makes him desirable for women. As for the corny one liner: 'Your place or mine' then I would say: Grow up guys. What's wrong in an oft-used-line that is not vulgar by any margin! You should see the blatantly suggestive advertising in the European countries. They find an excuse to showcase sex in one form or the other all the time. It seems Abhishek is enjoying the adulation that he is receiving due to the various products he is endorsing these days as we haven't had a taste of him in a movie this year. First up is Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', followed by 'Dhoom 2', Mani Rathnam's 'Guru' and 'Umrao Jaan'. So, don't worry girlies you are gonna be seeing a lot of ABhishek in the days to come.
It's 'Main Hoon Don' again
Get set for a rocking action again as fireworks happen all around this Diwali! After a rocking beginning to the promotion of 'Don' with a 20 second teaser, Farhan Akhtar has now unleashed a one minute song promo of the title 'Main Hoon Don'. And no, it is not a remix version of popular 'Arrey Deewani Mujhe Pehchano' but a brand new track by Shankar Ehsan Loy with the only similarity being the song's conclusion with the words 'Main Hoon Don'. A swanky looking song picturised on an elaborate set with a dark yet flashy look throughout', 'Main Hoon Don' is an extravagantly shot number with Shahrukh Khan coming across as a style guru! His gyrates along with Isha Kopikar while partying around with a few men (who appear to be baddies) as Priyanka Chopra watches the proceedings. A song with a retro feel to it, it mixes the spirit of the original Don with a dash of new age lounge effect to come across as a highly intriguing track!
