Country Club India Ltd is now all set for Asia's Biggest New Year Bash as it signs Eight Bollywood Actresses for its New Year Celebrations across country. Mallaika Arora, Neha Dhupia, Rimi Sen, Amrita Arora, Mahima Choudhary, Udita Goswami, Sadaa & Usha Uthup are the ladies who promise to sizzle in CCIL locales all over India with their rocking performances on the New Year Eve. Year 2007 has been quite eventful for Country Club India Ltd (CCIL), as it has stepped into its 18th year. CCIL, the largest chains of family clubs in India, recently underwent a complete metamorphosis and re-launched itself with a total revamped look. No doubt it is planning to have a monumental celebration this New Year. CCIL has signed a slew of Bollywood Divas - the sultry Neha Dhupia, the sensuous sisters Mallaika Arora and Amrita Arora, the effervescent 'Golmaal' girl Rimi Sen, stunning Mahima Choudhury and Udita Goswami, the melodious Usha Uthup and actress Saada from down south for its New Year ' bash 2008. In the same context CCIL is running a contest, which is already on air now exclusively for its members. CCIL members through this contest will determine which celebrity will perform in which city and it will be decided on the basis of the maximum number of SMSs received from that particular city for a particular actress. A press conference announcing the results will be held in Mumbai in presence of all the celebrities. So this December while the world will welcome the New Year with grand fireworks, the CCIL members across India will witness scintillating performances by these Bollywood divas. The performance will be taking place across eight cities namely Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Cochin. Speaking on the plans of celebration chairman CCIL Mr. Rajeev Reddy said, "CCIL has always believed in scaling in new heights in the field of hospitality and clubbing and in our 18 years of service we have rightly done so. This definitely calls for a whopping celebration. That's the reason we have signed these brilliant performers from Bollywood to enthrall CCIL members all over India as we enter another fruitful year of our service."
'Mallanna' to go to sets on Sept 24
Shooting of 'Mallanna' directed by Susi Ganesh of 'Manikyam 420'-fame and a prot©g© of Maniratnam, and produced by Kalaipuli Thanu on the banner of V Creations with National Best Artiste Vikram as hero and glamorous heroine Shriya in the lead, would be launched on September 24. The heavy budget film would be a bilingual film and the Tamil version would begin on September 23 at Chennai, while the Telugu version would be launched on September 24 in Hyderabad. The Tamil version's title is 'Kandaswami'. It is worth mentioning here that the invitation card for the launch of the film itself costs Rs 10,000 per each card. This hints at the range of the film's budget. Devisri Prasad is scoring music for this heavy budget movie. According to film industry sources, Vikram, who had no notable hit after 'Aparichitudu', is now confident that the film would be a blockbuster on those lines.
Mallanna in Mexico
The 'Mallanna' team met the press on February 16 to share its memorable trip to Mexico to identify the locations for the movie. Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, director Susi Ganesan and hero Vikram addressed the media persons and briefed them about their trip to Mexico. The trip was eventful with many surprising developments including Thanu being made as the Honorary Council General of Mexico in Chennai by the Mexican government. In another interesting development, the Mexican government has agreed to make a film in Spanish which will be co-produced by Kalaipuli Thanu, directed by Susi Ganesan and featuring 'Chiyaan' Vikram in the lead. All the other actors will be from Mexico. The civil war conditions in Kenya prevented the 'Mallanna' team from going there for shooting as per the earlier plans, informed Thanu. The producer informed that the team then switched over to Mexico for the shooting. It will be the first time that an Indian film will be shot in Mexico. The Mexican authorities were very much impressed with the trailer of 'Mallanna' and immediately agreed to give all the support and help for our film to be shot there. Director Susi Ganeshan told the reporters about how they went as delegates of Tamil cinema and got a warm welcome from the Mexican government. They were provided with a chopper to find the right locations to shoot. The team also comprised of art director Thotta Tharani and cameraman Ekambaram. Interestingly, the Mexican officials, including women, found that Vikram 'looked like a Hollywood star'. Vikram impressed them by talking some words in Spanish (the official language) which he picked up in 30 minutes from a 'Learn Spanish' booklet. He also danced with professional Salsa dancers. Earlier, a video showing the Mexico trip of 'Mallanna' team was screened.
'Mallanna' shoots in Mexico
The film unit of the Tamil film 'Kandasami' directed by Susi Ganeshan and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu on the banner of V Creations, with Vikram and Shriya in the lead, is all set to leave for Mexico for a one-month schedule there. The film is also being made in Telugu as 'Mallanna' simultaneously. The Super Star Krishna is playing a special role in 'Mallanna'. Speaking on the occasion Vikram says, 'It is a film with a touch of social awareness. My character in this film will have different shades. I played with different get-ups in this flick. Almost all the get-ups would attract and enthrall the audiences.' On the occasion, Vikram reveals that he had floated a voluntary organization called Vikram Foundation and set up Kashi Eye Bank as part of it. Vikram had donated both his eyes to the bank. Looking at his initiative, over 1,000 fans of Vikram also came forward to donate their eyes and submitted the necessary forms to the Kashi Eye Bank. Vikram says, 'I played a visually challenged in a film called Kashi. Hence I named our eye bank after that character.' It may be mentioned here that Devisri Prasad is scoring music for the flick.
'Mallanna' lands in Hyderabad
Vikram as hero has been paired with Shreya for the film 'Mallanna' and the unit is arriving in Hyderabad, after filming some scenes abroad. Titled as 'Mallanna' in Telugu and 'Kandasami' in Tamil, the mega film's producer Kalaipuli thanu is known for big budget extravagances. The movie has been creating news from the very start of its announcement. It has commanded the attention of all by sending expensive video invitations to prominent people in the film industry. Later an exclusive photo-session on Vikram and Shreya was done in many locales abroad. Talking about the film, the producer said, they have recently completed a schedule, of filming some important scenes, at Mexico. He added that from 23rd of July, the shooting will be done at Hyderabad, for about a week. The filming will be done at Ramoji Film City and FilmNagar. Devi Shree Prasad is the music director for this film made on the 'V Creations' banner.
'Mallanna' completed by 80 Per Cent
Vikram and Shreya paired Mallanna reaching the completion and readying for release for December. This extravaganza film with message possesses two songs filmed in Mexico and has high technical values according to the Hero and director Susi Ganesan. With Cameraman Ekambaram and music by Devi Sri Prasad, this Kali Puli Dhanu production has high expectations from all quarters. while speaking with media persons hero Vikram and director Susi Ganesan at Filmnagar, Hyderabad disclosed that in Mexico a bull fight was filmed and it gives Vikram Indian James Bond feel . He also appears in variety of get ups to suit mood of the film. Vikram also going to wear lady get up sooner for a sequence in the film.
