We had told you earlier that Mallika Sherawat would be hosting a segment with Karan Johar at Zee Cine Awards held recently in Mauritius. But to our surprise the actress was not present at the show. Well there are contradictory stories coming out from different nooks and corners of the industry. Some news says that she did not go because she was offered an economy class ticket as the remaining flight was booked and she wanted executive class tickets for herself and body guards. It was evident from the show that it was held in tight security. So now the question arises as to why did she need her own bodyguards to fly with her. She would anyway have been safe -- or so says an organizer. She even refused to go with Shah Rukh Khan in a chartered plane, if a media report is to be believed! But Zee is happy that the show went well, so nobody's complaining -- Mallika or no Mallika. Guess the loss was completely hers -- coz she lost an opportunity to anchor a big segment with top star anchor Karan Johar, whom the mischievous Sajid Khan actually described as a top anchor who also directs films in between!
Mallika Sherawat in Mani Ratnam's Guru
Mallika Sherawat is one of India's boldest sirens of all times. Her promos of the film Shaadi se Pehle with Akshaye Khanna and Ayesha Takia are making waves. The film is made under the Mukta Arts Banner. It is a romantic comedy. She made a highly publicized and hyped appearance in The Myth with Jackie Chan. She has great offers coming her way after all the hype. She has landed in the next Mani Ratnam flick titled Guru. The film has Abhishek and Aishwarya in the lead. It also stars Mithun Chakraborthy. She seems to be playing a very important character in the film. She plays a cameo in the film. It is a very crucial cameo, hence the details of it have not been revealed. Vivek Oberoi who was once a part of the film is no longer with it. Probably it is because Aishwarya has stepped in with her new boyfriend Abhishek in the film. A replacement for Vivek's character is being worked out and will soon be announced. Everyone on the film is excited about it.
"Mallika I Hate You!"
Music Director Sandeep Chowta has composed a song " Mallika I hate you". The song has been written by Vipin Kakkad. The song is for the film Shaadi Se Pehle starring Akshaye Khanna, Mallika Sherwat and Ayesha Takia, directed by Satish Kaushik and produced under the Mukta Arts banner. This song will be released as a single from the album. The finer details of this new marketing and promotion tactic will be revealed in the next two weeks officially. Surprisingly, Sandeep does not know Mallika personally. Sandeep had kept a low profile but has not gone off the music scene completely. He composed music for Telugu hit Super. He has recently completed work on a new album American Pilgrimage for which Sanjay Chitale is the lead vocalist. We may soon see Sandeep producing and directing a musical film with friend Nagarjuna. But that's in the future!
Mallika in 'Fauj Mein Mauj'
The sultry sex-siren Mallika Sherawat is one babe who doesn't have to worry about her flop films because she keeps on getting new and new projects every time. Now she has set her eyes on Goldie Hawn's Private Benjamin inspired film 'Fauj Mein Mauj'. The movie will be produced by Ravi Walia and directed by debutant Murli Nagavalli. It will be made under the banner Rising Star Entertainment. The movie is an out and out comedy and set in the army. It is story about what happens when a sexy young woman joins the army. The story is completely fictional. The other star cast in the film is Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. Nagavalli is looking forward to start shooting in the first week of June.
Mallika's quest to be beautiful, curvy and cool!
If Mallika Sherawat says that she wants to be COOL then that's understandable because the world knows her as HOT. When she says that she wants to be more beautiful then too one can give her a benefit of doubt. But when she says that she wants to be curvier then eyebrows are certainly raised. The question is - How much more? Well, that's exactly what she does in the latest advertisement of soft drink 7 UP where she is shown as a princess in one of those Arabian Nites setting. A genie in the shape of a FIDO DIDO appears right in front of her and she expresses her desire to be more BEAUTIFUL, CURVY AND COOL, and wants FIDO to fulfill her wish. And guess what happens? She turns into a newly designed bottle of 7 UP which is much more beautiful, much curvier and much cooler than before. After all the jokes that she played in 'Shaadi Se Pehle', this time the joke came back on her!
Mallika pips Ash, Shilpa and Lisa for UNVEILED
In close competition with Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty and Lisa Ray, Mallika Sherawat has turned out to be an eventual winner to bag the prestigious film UNVEILED. A Bill Bannerman film, who has been associated with films like 'Bridges of Madison County', 'The Grudge 2', 'Walking Tall', 'The Hulk'', 'Payback', 'Mission Impossible', 'Star Trek: First Contact' and more, UNVEILED is a true-blue Hollywood project about a Muslim Woman who has two husbands and a lover. Apparently Mallika was called for a screen test in US and she passed with flying colors. Before that the film maker had also seen her distinct films like MURDER, THE MYTH and PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS and was impressed with the range of her work. For Mallika, it is a commendable achievement since after managing to have Jackie Chan touch Indian shores for THE MYTH, she has managed to get a film maker of the repute of Bill Bannerman to come to India and announce a project with her. With sheer hard work, grit and determination, she has brushed aside all controversies and scathing press remarks to emerge victorious. In fact as per sources, she took all the anti-remarks post THE MYTH in her stride and used them positively for her to move ahead in her career and aim for something bigger and better. With a synopsis that reads "Behind the dark burkha, there lies a sexy, manipulative victim, who's dangerous as well as in grave danger", UNVEILED definitely sounds bigger and better!
