Sanjay Dutt sought blessings from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a visit to the state secretariat Nabanna in neighbouring Howrah district on Monday. He also lauded the development initiatives taken by Banerjee in the state. "After what happened to me in the 1993 incident, Didi (elder sister - as Banerjee is affectionately called) was the only one who supported me. After that I always wanted to come to Kolkata and thank Didi. Because no one had supported me back then. Only Shatrughan Sinha and Didi were by my side," Sanjay told reporters there. Sanjay was handed a five-year sentence by the Supreme Court for illegal weapons possession in a case linked to the 1993 serial blasts that killed 257 people in Mumbai. "I came to thank her. I said thank you, took her blessings. I told whenever she needs me I will be around. She has invited me for the (Kolkata International) Film Festival on November 11 and I will definitely come," added the actor. "I heard she is working on reformation of jails. This is good." Sanjay lavished praised on the chief minister for what she has done to transform the city since his last visit. "Last time I visited was during (the filming of) 'Parineeta'. This time, while coming from the airport, I was pleasantly surprised by what Didi has done in such a little time." Banerjee exchanged pleasantries and introduced the "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S" actor to her cabinet ministers. The Trinamool Congress supremo had good relations with Sanjay's star father, the late Sunil Dutt and had rallied behind Sanjay who was sentenced to five years in jail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

Mamta Mohandas renders 'Rakhee' song
Malayalam heroine Mamta Mohandas joined Devisri Prasad to render the title song of 'Rakhee', directed by Krishnavamsi, presented by S Gopal Reddy and produced by KL Narayana on the banner of Durga Arts, with NT Ramarao, Ileana and Charmi in the lead. The audio of Rakhee, which has a brother-sister sentiment in its storyline, was released on December 7. It may be mentioned that she was selected as one of the heroines for the NT Ramarao's forthcoming flick 'Yama Donga' to be directed and produced by SS Rajamouli. When all the heroines are looking for a sweet voice to dub their sound, Mamta Mohandas went a step ahead and rendered a song itself, which is great. All the best to Mamta Mohandas.
Mamta to play opposite Vishnu
The 49th production on the prestigious banner of Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, with Dr M Mohanbabu as producer and P Vasu as director was launched on August 24, in which Vishnuvardhan Babu is playing the hero and Yuva Samrat Akkineni Nagarjuna playing a special and key role. Earlier, Rohini Sahani, a Mumbai model was selected as heroine opposite Vishnuvardhan. However, she was replaced with Mamta Mohandas due to some unexpected turn of events. It may be mentioned here that Mamta Mohandas is not only a heroine but also a good singer. Her recent film 'Yamadonga' in which she played opposite NTR was released and proved a blockbuster. Presently she is playing heroine in a film called 'Homam' being directed by JD Chakravarthy.
Mamta Mohandas' salad talk!
Her husky voice is a rage among the youth. And her perfect figure and gorgeous looks have not gone unnoticed within the film fraternity, who have promptly cajoled her into playing the leading lady in Telugu. She is currently doing a film each with Vishnu and Nitin. Ask her what the secret of her drop-dead figure is, and Mamata says she owes it all to the fat-free food she used to eat in Bahrain. All the veggies and olive oil are ideal for healthy eating she says.
Mamta Mohandas is one bindaas girl
She debuted as a singer and has turned an actor. She is one actress who is really chilled about her star image. She belongs to the current crop of no-nonsense girls and looks every bit confident on the sets and during public appearances. Some call her snobbish. But in an industry where you have to be careful of unwanted attention, it is one way of warding off unwanted people. Mamta also dresses simply, yet elegantly and in keeping with the latest trends. We really hope some of the other younger actresses take a lesson or two from her. Given that she has been brought up in Bahrain, she carries off her Western wear really well and does not go overboard in trying to look like a south Indian actress by ending up in sequined sarees or salwars.
