Manu Rishi turns director

Actor Manu Rishi, known for his comic timing, has turned director on the occasion of International Women's Day on Sunday. "I have been wanting to direct a film for a while now and the subject of my film is women oriented. So, we thought today being International Women's Day, it would be right to sign the film and make an announcement," Manu told. The "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!" actor terms his film, which is set to go on floors by July 2015, as a 'Delhi-cious love story'. A source close to the team shared: "Today on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8, 2015, producer Vikram Khakhar ('Main Aur Charles' and 'One by Two'), has signed actor-writer Manu Rishi to direct his next untitled venture on women empowerment." Manu has also written the film.

'Mangatayaru Tiffin Centre' to be launched soon

Director Srinivasa Reddy, who had directed successful films like 'Adirindayya Chandram' and 'Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila' is presently busy with 'Yamagola' (Mallee Modalayindi) with Srikanth and Venu as heroes. Even as the current project is on sets, Srinivasa Reddy planned another film called 'Mangatayaru Tiffin Centre'. Popular item number dancer and vamp artiste Mumaith Khan was selected as heroine for the movie, while Krishna Bhagawan is getting a promotion as hero through this film. It is quite interesting to note that Krishna Bhagawan is also becoming a hero, in the backdrop of several comedians turning heroes.

Mangala receives A Certificate

Charmi starrer Mangala is gearing up for its release on 2nd March on the eve of Maha Sivaratri. The movie has completed its censor formalities and received A certificate from the Censor Board. Mangala is a thriller genre film, where Charmi is playing the title role. Apart from directing Mangala, Osho Tulasiram is also producing the movie along with Ch V Sarma. Viswa has scored the music and Sivendra has cranked the camera for the film. The trailers and the posters of the film are impressive and creating a positive buzz. Charmi has pinned high hopes on Mangala as the actress had no notable hits in the recent times. Will Charmi score a hit? We need to wait till 2nd March…

Manjula Vijaykumar Passes away

Veteran actress Manjula Vijaykumar has passed away this morning at Srmc hospital, Chennai and will be cremated today evening. Manjula Vijaykumar, who left her last breath today at the age of 59 after suffering from jaundice and an injury last few days. She is survived by husband Vijay Kumar and three daughters. Manjula paired up with Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, M. G. Ramachandran, NTR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Shobhan Babu, Krishna, Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth. She was seen in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Some of her noted films in Telugu include Mayadari Malligadu, Dorababu, Manchi Manushulu, Bangaru Bommalu, Chanti, Vaasu.
