Innumerable music albums praising the lord Ayyappa who resides in Sabarimala in Kerala has been made over the years. But when the living legend of music Illayaraja makes a devotional album, just like his heart touching film music it will be indeed a work which will set a new benchmark of standard for others to follow. For the first time the music maestro has brought out a devotional album dedicated to Swami Ayyappa also known as Manikantan. The album has eight songs created with great care and devotion. The album will be available in all the four South Indian languages. For the Tamil version Illayaraja has given his voice for six songs. For Telugu and Kannada, S.P.Balasubramanyam has given life to 6 songs. In Malayalam, Vijay Yesudas and Madhu Balakrishnan has sung 6 songs In all the four languages, Shankaran Namoodiri has sung one song while a male group has given voice for a chorus song. Leading lyric writers of all the four states have associated with the music director for bringing out this music album. For Tamil, Vaali did the duties. K.Kalyan wrote the words for Kannada. Vennela Kanti wrote the Telugu lyrics while Anil Kumar created the Malayalam lyrics. "Manikantan Geet Mala' is the debut project of IndiaTales Media Private Limited which is a new entertainment company started with a mission to take the culture and folklore of India to a global audience. Maniratnam bereaved
Popular director Maniratnam's brother G Srinivasan died in an accident at Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Srinivasan, who was basically a chartered accountant and also producer of films is spending his vacations with his family in Himachal Pradesh. He went for trekking at Halan and accidentally fell in a ditch and lost his life on the spot. In fact, his family was to return to Chennai by Monday morning. Srinivas had produced the Tamil versions of 'Iruvar' (Iddaru), 'Yuva', and 'Guru'. Born on September 23, 1958, Srinivasan is survived by his wife and three daughters. His body was shifted to Chennai for last rites.
Venkatesh New Home in Manikonda
Telugu cinema hero Victory Venkatesh stepped into his new home in Dollar hills area in Manikonda. It is believed that Venkatesh's newly constructed home is spread across 4 acres. According to the sources Venkatesh new home happens to be much bigger than star-turned politician Chiranjeevi's housee, which is more or less equal to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan residence. Venkatesh accompanied by wife, son and daughter stepped into new home yesterday at 11:30 am. In this connection, Venkatesh invited only few selected personalities because the new home is not yet ready to occupy and some works are yet to be finished. Further, it was reported Venkatehs will host a party for all the Tollywood biggies and family after getting into the new abode. Venkatesh constructed his new house and made provisions to practice his yoga and meditation which he does daily. Daggubati Venkatesh is currently busy with Telugu movie Bodyguard (co-starring Trisha and Saloni), which is a remake of Malayalam's blockbuster movie Bodyguard. After wrapping Bodyguard movie Venkatesh is all to set to do a movie under the direction of Dasarath of Mr.Perfect fame.

Manikanda - Late but latest
Arjun's Manikanda. The movie directed by Selvah features Arjun and Jyothika in lead role. Though it went to floors almost a year ago, it has been troubled by repeated delays. Meanwhile, both Arjun and Jyothika ventured to do other projects. When everyone thought Manikanda was shelved, the Tamil Film Producers Council headed by Rama Narayanan had taken efforts to settle all disputes and ensure an early release of the movie. Now with all negotiations over, Manikanda is expected to hit the screens in December. Hope it emulates its predecessors and put up a good show at the box office.
