Producer Maddineni Srinivasa Rao is bringing out a film, 'Manorama' on the banner of Sri Pavitra Art Creations under the direction of V Eswar Reddy of 'Mee Sreyobhilashi'-fame, with Charmme in the title role. Recording of songs for the film was launched at Koti Recording Studio in Hyderabad a few days ago. 'Swarganiki Short Route Love Marriage'' penned by Venigalla Rambabu was recorded as the first song under the musical direction of Koti. Director says, 'We are planning to launch the regular shooting from August 6. It would continue without any interruption till September 30. Several incidents used to occur in front of our eyes and we prepared a very good story by taking one such real life incident. A special street set is being erected at Ramanaidu Studios at a cost of Rs 40 lakhs for the movie.' Music director says, 'It is a different movie on the lines of 'Mee Sreyobhilashi'. There are four songs in the film and all are situational.' Producer says, 'As the story demanded we had erected costly sets without a compromise. We are sure that the film would earn a good name for us and our banner.' The film will have story and dialogues by Padmasri, art is by Ashok, camera is by Adusumilli Vijaykumar, action is by Ram-Lakshman, editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh, while screenplay and direction are by V Eswar Reddy.
Manorama 6 Feet Under A title which has a high recall value.
'Manorama 6 Feet Under' is a dark comedy about and amateur detective in a small town who gets caught in a web of lies, trickery, deceit and murder. The entire plot is set in a sleepy town of Rajasthan, where neighbors like to peek into other's life & yearn to put an end to the mundane activities that they remain engrossed in. Recently the star cast of 'Manorama 6 Feet Under' Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Gulpanag were in capital for the promotion of the film. 'Manorama 6 Feet Under' is a Shemaroo Entertainment Banner's movie, directed by Navdeep Singh & Produced by Ketan Maroo. Navdeep is debuting as director for the first time; director Navdeep Singh has directed a number of award- winning commercial for Garnier, MTV, Maruti Alto, Lux and Parle Hide 'n' Seek etc. "I am paling an amateur detective's character in this movie, who wife usually suspects him for no reasons. I write a book on famous detective's life and the incidents occurred in his life, a reader of that book, that it Sarika who is playing Manorama in this movie, get impress with my book as she appoints me as her private detective to explore more about her husband's affair with a lady. While the investigation Sarika dies and I get stuck in to unwanted circumstances". Adding to this he said "It was nice working with Gulpanag, she is a natural actor. I shared a very good comfort level while working with her. I agreed to do this movie because I really liked the Idea and Passion of the director of this film", he says. "This is my sixth movie and among all the previous characters I liked this character more". Raima Sen says, "I am playing the character of Sheetal, who works with an NGO in this movie and she approach Abhay seeking some help. Though the music in this movie is not a Sing Song, I like song ' Woh Mere Pal'. I am working on three more movies currently". Gulpanag the former Miss India says "I am playing Nimi, wife of Abhay Deol's wife in this movie, who is very talkative and runs a beauty parlor. I would love to play the characters which are unique and entertaining at the same time. My character in this movie has all the shades which should be there. When she asked about the experience with co-stars she said, I shot more scenes with Abhay then any other character in this movie. Abhay is a very good actor and he proved his potential with his performance in this film". She would love to work with directors Mani Shankar and Rituparno Ghosh. Apart from these star cast, Sarika,Vinay Pathak, Kulbhushan Kharbanda were added their acting flavors to this thriller. The tunes of music director Jayesh Gandhi and Raiomond Mirza have been made melodious by singers like Jayesh Gandhi, Roop Kumar Rathod, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma, Zubeen Garg.
Manorama chosen for Murasoli award
Tamil Nadu CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi will honour veterans like actor Manorama, writer Jayakanthan and Tamil scholar Silamboli Chellappan on behalf of Murasoli Trust. The Murasoli Trust was formed by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. He is also the founder of 'Murasoli,' the DMK party organ. The award, which will be given away to the much deserving veterans in their own chosen fields, carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs one lakh. According to a press release, Kalaignar Karunanidhi will present the awards at a function which will be held on January 23. Manorama receives award from Kalaignar
In an event of great magnitude on behalf of Murasoli trust, actor Manorama, also called by many as 'Aachi' fondly, received the Murasoli award from Tamil Nadu CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Doyen of Tamil literature and writer Jayakanthan, and literary scholar Silamboli Chellappan also received the award from the Chief Minister, in recognition of their contributions in their chosen field. It is interesting to note that Manorama is the only female actor to have acted with our CM. She played the heroine in a play titled Manimagudam in which Kalaignar Karunanidhi acted as the hero. Manorama to be honoured by California University
Manorama, the actress who has been part of generations of Tamil Cinema will be conferred an honorary doctorate by a University in California. Fondly known as 'Aachi', Manorama has acted in over 1500 films and has a rather interesting acting record. She has the unique distinction of acting with five Chief Ministers of Tamilnadu. She acted with Aringner Anna and the present Chief Minister M. Karunandhi in theater. Manorama has often times acted with MGR, Jayalalitha and V. N. Janaki in many movies. Generations of Tamil movie audiences have seen her play various kinds of roles and has especially revered her for pairing up with comedian Nagesh in high voltage comic situations. Manorama ever so graciously entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for acting in most number of films. With the kind of record she has, there is absolutely no competition whatsoever for a very long time to come. Retaining the interest level of audiences over generations truly stems from passion and Manorama is a living example for that. Veteran film director K Balachander and actress Manorama would be conferred honorary doctorates by the University of California for their immense contribution to Tamil cinema. According to Brian Lee, Vice Chancellor, University of California, 'Balachander, who directed over 100 films, had set a new trend in Tamil cinema. He has been active for over three generations and has helped revived Tamil filmdom and took it close to the common man'. 'Manorama had acted in over 1000 films and found a place in Guinness Book of World records. She has been a witness to the steady growth of Tamil cinema', Brian Lee said.
