More news →Charmi's Mantra 2, not a sequel
Southern actress Charmy Kaur, who recently signed on the dotted line to be a part of upcoming Telugu horror-thriller "Mantra 2", says the film is not a sequel to the hit movie "Mantra", which falls in the same genre. "This ('Mantra 2') is not a sequel. It doesn't take forward the story of 'Mantra', but has a different story to tell to the audience. I never thought I would be part of the project, but the director's narration took me by surprise and I instantly agreed to be part of it," Charmy said. "Mantra", which released in 2007, was a sleeper hit. It gave Charmi a much-needed hit after back-to-back flops back then. The regular shooting of "Mantra 2" will start from Sep 26 in Hyderabad. It will be directed by debutant N. Sathish. Tanikella Bharani, Tagubothu Ramesh, Hema and Rao Ramesh will be seen essaying important roles in the film.
Mantra shooting wrapped up
Charmme proved as glamorous and hot heroine in several films. However, she proved that she too could perform excellently through 'Anukokunda Oka Roju', which is a heroine-oriented film. Her forthcoming flick 'Mantra' would also be a heroine-oriented film, which is being made on the banner of Generation Next Movies. The talkie part shooting of the film was wrapped, but the songs are yet to be choreographed. Producer of the film Kalyanram says, 'We have erected a heavy set of the heroine's house at Shamshabad exclusively for the film and a majority of the talkie part and a song were shot there itself. The next schedule is slated from January 5 and the entire shooting would be completed totally with that schedule.' Director Tulasiram says, 'We are planning to release the audio by the end of January and the film in February. The film would be different from the routine films.' Sivaji is playing a special character in this movie.
Charmee 'Mantra'
Charmee hasn't had a release for some time. She has been in news more for her alleged love affair with a leading music director. Whatever is happening on her personal front, she has something to look forward to on the professional front. Her film Mantra, directed by Tulasi Ram seems to be set for release finally. The promos are already on, on all channels. Though the film was set for an October release, Charmee might finally have a release this month. And she is busy shooting for Bapu-Ramana's Sundarakanda. Naresh plays the lead opposite this Punjabi belle in the film. Charmee, who was introduced as a glamour girl by Krishna Vamsee, is now making some conscious moves to do different cinema.
Balaiah and family watch Mantra on Christmas
'Mantra' has been the biggest surprise hit of the year. Right from the teasers to the film, the makers hit the bull's eye. Though the film's producers had to go through hell to complete the film, the film is running to full houses and has been declared a hit. Now, that's reason enough to make even the top stars inquisitive about the film. Balakrishna and his family watched a special screening of Mantra at the Film Chamber's preview theatre on Christmas Day. The film has also worked wonders for Charmme's image, as she took the bold step to act in the film with minimum make-up, something that no top actress would dare to do.
Charmme adds Kanya with Mantra
Following the big hit of suspense thriller 'Mantra' Charmee once again playing a similar lead role in a Tamil to Telugu dubbed, titled as 'Manthra Kanya.' K.Venkata Reddy and K.Prakash together are producing it on Chandrasekhar Movies banner. All works are completed and is scheduled for release in the 2nd week of August. Mantra Kanya is an action-mystery happens in a backdrop of a forest with end to end sequence entertainer according to the producers of the film.

Thulasi Ram is a very happy man these days. His film 'Mantra' is a hit and the industry has found his story-telling technique interesting. Now, Thulasi Ram is already getting prepared to direct his next flick. He has signed a film with Visalakshi Creations Private Limited. The film is being produced by G Kumar Babu. Unlike 'Mantra', which was a thriller, this film would be a romantic entertainer. The film is likely to roll towards the end of February. Thulasi Ram is now trying to figure out who would fit his characters.
