"If hope dies, contact BIG BROTHER!" And no, this is not what Shilpa Shetty is saying post her win at the namesake show. It is actually the punch line of the film called BIG BROTHER that stars Sunny Deol in the title role. Playing a 'big brother' to many a men and women in trouble, Sunny Deol gets into his 'janta ka maseeha' role once again with BIG BROTHER after enacting such roles in half a dozen odd films in the 90s. With a tagline of "Every family has a hero", the film which was earlier titled 'Deodhar Gandhi', is being presented to the audience as an action drama that would appeal to youth and families alike. Directed by Guddu Dhanoa, the film stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead.
Inder Kumar makes a comeback with 'Aryan'
Coming Friday is going to be a defining moment for one man - Inder Kumar. That's because he makes a comeback on the big screen after a long hibernation. His last notable release was 'Maseeha' [2002] which sunk without a trace. Before that he had his big chance with Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Hathyar' [2002] where he played a younger Sanjay Dutt. The film didn't work at the box office and Inder Kumar was out of the big league. Meanwhile he also had his back troubles to fight since he was bed ridden for a long time. His main support during that time was Salman Khan who had actually tried a comeback for him in 'Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge' [2002] where he had Inder play the main villain. But subsequent failure of all these films meant that Inder was out of the reckoning. All this may change on December 15th when his comeback film 'Aryan' releases. Pitted against Sohail Khan in the film, he plays a ruthless boxer for whom it is success that matters most, even if it means resorting to unethical and unlawful ways like taking illegal drugs. As per insiders, Inder has come up with a smashing performance in the film and his sequences in the ring with Sohail are utmost real and have to be seen to be believed.
Now 101 DAYS - a sequel to 100 DAYS
It seems the sequel bug has hit Partho Ghosh too, who has been the man behind numerous successful/critically acclaimed films like '100 Days', 'Agniskashi', 'Ghulam-E-Mustafa' and 'Yugpurush'. Though his recent crop of films [Maseeha, Chetna, Sitam etc.] are nothing great to boast about, it may all change if his planned sequel to '100 Days' i.e. '101 Days' indeed materializes and hits the screens. One of the best films made by him, '100 Days' was a film starring Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff that redefined the thriller genre. With INTERWORLD DIGITAL Ltd., a BSE listed Information Technology company, producing '101 Days', it would be interesting to see which story does Ghosh opt for this time around since as per him, '101 Days' would be yet another different thriller altogether.
