Tamil folk singer Thiruvudaiyan (48) who has also lent his voice for a few songs in Tamil films has passed away in a fatal road accident in Madurai on the early hours of Monday. Thiruvudaiyan hails from Sankarankoil. He was travelling to Madurai in a car that rammed a vehicle parked on the road near Vadipatti Electricity Board office. The singer died on the spot while his brother Thangapandian and the driver who suffered severe injuries were taken to the Government hospital. Thiruvudaiyan is affiliated the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and he used to sing in party meetings and other political events. He has sung the 'Nethiyile Pottu Veyyi' song in Kamal Haasan's 'Virumandi' and also a song each in 'Madhayanaikoottam', 'Mayilu' and director Thangar Bachan;s yet to be released 'Kalavadiya Pozhudhugal'.
Actress Shammu on a cultural tour
Heroine Shammu, who started her film career with ‘Dasavatharam’, has done in Priyadarshan’s ‘Kancheevaram’ and also won best critical acclaims for her performance in the film. This paved the way to have a couple of movies in Tamil such as ‘Maathi Yosi’ and ‘Mayilu’. At present the beauty is on plans to go on a foreign trip for a cultural event. She will begin her journey on April 14th and will return back on May 24th. She will be visiting Virginia, Orlando and Kemba and performing cultural events there.

Dhananjeyan, the CEO of Moser Baer has emphatically clarified his company's stand on the legal tussle they are having with MovieLand over copyright issues of 50 film titles. 'Moser Baer Entertainment has the necessary copyrights and is presenting itself very clearly to the court', said the top executive of Moser Baer. 'Till a verdict is meted out by the court we have stopped sales of the 50 titles that is in actuality applicable to both parties concerned'. He also added that they were confident on winning this tussle. Moser Baer Entertainment has plunged into the world of filmmaking and is coming up with a number of movies including Cheran's 'Raman Thediya Seethai' and Prakash Raj's 'Abhiyum Naanum'. The Chief Executive Officer of Moser Baer Dhananjeyan said in an exclusive telephonic interview to musicmazaa that Moser Baer strives to come up with quality movies that are commercially viable. He stressed on the point that the company is not in the market for charity but for profitable business. "We choose good scripts, work out good music and maintain very good production values such that projects are finished on time and not dragged'. Dhananjeyan also spoke about the films that Moser Baer is coming with soon. Cheran's 'Raman Thediya Seethai' also starring Pasupathi, Nithin Sathya along with five girls, 'Abhiyum Naanum' starring Prakash Raj and Trisha, 'Mayilu' featuring newcomers with the music of Illayaraja, 'Poo' with Srikanth and Parvathy and 'Aval Peyar Tamizharasi' starring Jai. Moser Baer is also planning to remake the Hindi hit 'Jab We Met' in Tamil with Bharath. The heroine however is yet to be finalized. 'Raman Thediya Seethai' is all set to grace theaters on the 5th of September.
Tamanna's admiration for Moser Baer
musicmazaa stressed on the efforts made by the production house to bring about a favorable change to Tamil Cinema. The pretty actress said that Moser Baer has made efforts to bring the price of movie CDs down in a bid to kill piracy, which is very important for the film industry. Moreover, quality films are being made by the production house ever since they made their entry into Tamil films. The actress is currently in talks with Moser Baer for the Tamil remake of the super hit Hindi film 'Jab We Met' that starred Kareena Kapoor along with Shahid Kapoor. Tamanna's dates are being worked out at the moment and it is most likely that her presence in the project will bring about the much needed youthful enthusiasm Moser Baer is looking for. In all probability, Bharath will pair up with Tamanna for the film which is expected to be exciting. Moser Baer is currently producing a host of quality movies in the form of 'Raman Thediya Seethai', 'Poo', 'Aval Peyar Thamizarasi' 'Abhiyum Naanum', and 'Mayilu' These films will grace movie screens one by one.
Moser Baer to the rescue of 'Dishyum' Sasi
Director Sasi shot to fame with his film 'Dishyum' that featured Jeeva and Sandhya in lead roles. The director is now coming up with a film titled 'Poo' starring Srikanth and a debutante from Kerala, Parvathi. Sources say that the talented Sasi is not especially happy with certain sequences of the film and wants to change them for the sake of quality. 'Poo' is produced by Moser Baer who are also producing a host of other movies like 'Raman Thediya Seethai' starring Cheran,'s 'Abhiyum Naanum' starring Prakash Raj and Trisha 'Mayilu' with newcomers and 'Aval Peyar Tamilarasi' starring Jai and a newcomer. Reports also suggest that Sasi is making 'Poo' with tremendous artistic qualities which deems fit for awards. To give him the much needed breather for quality's sake Moser Baer would go ahead and release some of the other films from their stable before 'Poo'. Truly a noble gesture from the production house. Since 'Poo' may go on to clinch many awards, the filmmakers are getting debutant Parvathi to dub with her own voice. Despite the beautiful lass not being a Tamil, she reportedly is not facing many problems with dubbing.

Moser Baer Entertainment has joined hands with SONY BMG Music India to release its New Tamil films' music. SONY BMG Music has acquired all the three Tamil films, which are currently being produced by Moser Baer Entertainment. The tie up will also be extended to future films from Moser Baer Entertainment in Tamil. Moser Baer entered the Tamil film industry to produce films by tying up with Prakash Raj's Duet Movies. Their first joint venture 'Vellitherai' was released in March 2008 amidst good reviews and warm responses. Two more films with Duet Movies namely 'Abhiyum Naanum' and 'Mayilu' are slated for release during the current year. Meanwhile, Moser Baer is also producing three more films in Tamil. Director K.P. Jagannath's 'Raman Thediya Seethai' with music by Vidyasagar, Director Sasi's 'Poo', (starring Srikanth & Parvathy) with music by debutant S Kumaran and Director K Bhagyaraj's 'Pudhiya Vaarpugal' (starring Shantanu & Chandni) with music by Dharan. All the three films are slated for release from August onwards. Sony BMG Music has acquired the music and audio rights of all the three films under an exclusive tie up with Moser Baer Entertainment. The tie up will extend to two more films to be produced by Moser Baer soon in Tamil. Their first music release will be 'Raman Thediya Seethai', which is expected to be released in July. G.
