Ramesh, son of producer R B Choudhary, is pinning all his hopes on Madurai Veeran. Though he started his career swiftly with a good outing in Githan, his subsequent films did average business at the box-office. He has now joined hands with director Vincent Selvah, who introduced him to silver screen with Madurai Veeran. Popular Telugu actress Saloni is making her debut in Kollywood with Madurai Veeran. The movie being produced by R B Choudhary's Super Good Films is progressing fast. A couple of stunt sequences were shot recently at Vishakapattinam. Ramesh is confident that the movie would help revive his fortunes. A racy entertainer with all commercial elements is Madurai Veeran.Vincent Selvah has shaped the movie well, he says. After Githan, Ramesh had Madhu, Jerry and Nee Venumda Chellam released one after another.
Madurai couple claims star hero as their son
In a shocking revelation, a couple named Kathiresan and Meenakshi from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has filed a petition in the Madurai court stating that Tamil star Dhanush is their third son who ran away from their house when he was quite small. After hearing their petition, the court has ordered Dhanush to appear before it on January 12th. The couple has demanded a monthly amount of 65000 from Dhanush so that they can meet their daily expenses. This news has created a sensation all over and lets see how Dhanush will respond to this case. More details of this case will soon be revealed.
Karan to speak Madurai lingo
When Kamal Haasan, the shrewd judge of men and matters singles out a performer to be special, he or she will certainly be. Karan, whom he gave a big break in Nammavar, certainly is. After hovering in the middle range and out of it too, Karan came back strongly as a hero with Kokki. It was a movie that gave him a new perspective and now Karan is ready to challenge new frontiers of excellence. His next movie is Thee Nagar where he plays an incendiary youth. He was so involved in the project that he was laid low with an accident. Karan took that in his stride. Karan who has lost a lost of weight is also doing another interesting film. Titled Karuppasamy Kuthagaikarar, it is directed by Moorthy. A new Mumbai girl who has been christened Meenakshi is the heroine. Karan, who says the film has a rare humor, speaks Madurai dialect and his portions with Vadivelu are expected to be the talk of the town.
Ramesh elated at Madurai Veeran's success
'Madurai Veeran has helped me establish myself as an action-hero in Tamil cinema', says Jithan fame Ramesh. The young hero (son of producer R B Choudhary), is optimistic that the remake of Telugu blockbuster Nuvve Nenu would draw more audience to theatre and provide a fresh start to his career. 'The movie packed with action sequences has been welcomed well by the masses,' he says. Ramesh is busy shooting for his next Puli Varudhu and Potti. Director Vincent Selvah is equally thrilled at Madurai Veeran's showing at the box office. 'We made enough correction to the script to suit the Tamil audience. It clicked well', he said and added,' Equal credit should be given to Saloni, who played the female lead with ease'. Vincent Selvah will direct Sundar C for his next Perumal soon.
Shankar off to Madurai
Director Shankar is back with joy from Cannes for his home production Veyyil was screened at the coveted film festival. Known for his professional commitment, Shankar is off to Madurai straight away. The reason being his next home production Kalloori being directed by Balaji Sakthivel is being shot in and around Madurai. Shankar's S Pictures is producing Kallori. After Kadhal, Balaji Sakthivel is directing the film starring a newcomer and Tamanna in the lead roles. Expectations are high on the movie since Balaji Sakthivel's Kadhal was a run-away hit. Shankar is at Madurai to supervise the shooting of the movie. He is happy at the way the movie is shaping up.
C Kalyan to release Mayuri after Jyothi Lakshmi
Producer-distributor C Kalyan, who is enjoying the success of female centric film Charmi's Jyothi Lakshmi directed by Puri Jagannadh, bagged the Telugu dubbing rights of Nayantara's Maaya. After buying the Telugu dubbing versions of hit Tamil films like Pisachi and Uttama Villain, CK Entertainments has bought the Maaya Telugu rights from Potential Studios and Sri Thenandal Films. Written and directed by Ashwin Saravanan, Maaya is titled as Mayuri in Telugu. DOP Sathiyan Sooryan, Music: Ron Yohan, Editing: TS Suresh, Art: Tha Ramalingam among Mayuri crew. Featuring Nayantara and Aari in the lead roles, Mayuri is done with shooting and undergoing post-production work. After releasing first look makers have planned to release Maaya trailer on Thursday [June 18].
