'Minchina Ota' again

One of the widely appreciated films of late Shanker Nag (actor cum director) in which his elder brother Ananth Nag also played the lead role 'Minchina Ota' title is repeated again in Kannada. That was mid 80's and now in 2007 Thanu Chitra producer Sa.Ra.Govindu and 'Cyanide' fame director A.M.R.Ramesh have picked the same title and paying tribute to late Shanker Nag from this film. The story is different and siblings Vijay Raghavendra and Murali are teamed with lanky lass Lakshmi Rai as heroine in the film. The film went on the floor on Monday. Smt.Parvathamma Rajakumar the leading producer graced the occasion to switch on the camera for her brother, S.A.Chinne Gowda's sons film Vijay and Murali film. Title repetition is not for the first time on Kannada screen. We give you some of the prominent films list of Kannada films repeated again. Bhakta Prahallada (1942,1958, 1983), Satya Harischandra (1943, 1963) Bhakta Kumbara (1949, 1974) Maha Kavi Kalidasa (1955, 1983) Hemareddy Mallamma (1945, 1974, 2000) Sri Krishnaleele, Anna Thangi (1958, 2005) Bevu Bella (1963, 1990's) Valmiki (1963, 2005), Jenugoodu (1963, 1990's) Mantralaya Mahatma (1965 and late 80's), Amma (1968 and mid 90's) Odahuttidavaru (1968, 1994) Grihalakshmi (1969, 1990's) Arishina Kumkuma (1970, 1990's) Nagarahavu (1972, 2004) Chaduranga, Samsara Nauke etc. Producer Sa.Ra.Govindu the head of Akila Karnataka Dr.Rajkumar Abhimanigala Sangha and popular Kannada activist is back to films after 'Gunna' debacle. The loss I have suffered made me to recoup in the last two years. Now I am producing the film in my home banner for which Pyramid Saimira has come forward to take the distribution rights of one area said Govindu. AMR Ramesh who directed award winning film 'Cyanide' has roped in popular cameraman of yesteryears P.Rajan for this film. He is using super 35 and up to use the DI for the film. P.Rajan is coming back to Kannada after 'Smile'. The siblings Vijay and Murali are excited about the banner and the project 'Minchina Ota'. This is for the first time siblings are together in a film. Both have already made good ground in Kannada cinema. Suman and Rahul Rai are playing rabble rousers in this film. The charming beauty Lakshmi Rai hailing from Belgaum who made good progress in Tamil films is appearing in her third Kannada film. The last Kannada film Lakshmi Rai acted was 'Snehana Preethina'. She has signed another Kannada film 'Kareye Kogile Madhavana' opposite Diganth as hero. She will be taking up that film after finishing 'Minchina Ota'.

Chilling climax for 'Minchina Ota'

Producer Sa.Ra.Govindu's biggest budget cinema in his career 'Minchina Ota' is technically advance when it comes before the audience says director AMR Ramesh who made award winning 'Cyanide' last year. The quality of this film will be bit high when compared to Tamil superstar Rajanikanth's 'Sivaji' says Ramesh confidently. He is going for 4K Digital Intermediate for the whole film. This film starring Vijaya Raghavendra, Murali and Lakshmi Rai in lead roles is shot in Super 35 camera. Four such cameras were used for the action scenes in the film. 'Minchina Ota' nearing completion was recently shot at Dollars colony in Bangalore. In front of the huge Ganesha idol the remix song with folk, classical and western beats was captured on last Wednesday evening. This film specialty is climax that runs for 40 minutes on screen. All the artists are part of this climax. A four wheeler rams against the running train is one of the dangerous stunts done in this film says Ramesh. I am providing all the requirements of director AMR Ramesh and I am seeing the positive vibration of success says Sa.Ra.Govindu.

40 Minutes climax in 'Minchina Ota'

For the first time in the history of Kannada cinema 'Minchina Ota' climax carry on for 40 minutes almost occupying the second half of the film ' the audience would see it on this Thursday in the Karnataka theatres says the proud producer Sa.Ra.Govindu of Thanu Chitra. Releasing in more than 75 theatres all over Karnataka 'Minchina Ota' the 19th production of Sa.Ra.Govindu is the most expensive film of his career. Siblings Vijaya Raghavendra and Sri Murali are appearing for the first time with charmer Lakshmi Rai in the lead roles. There are talks to release the film 'Minchina Ota' in New York and neighboring Maharashtra. I would abide by the audience reaction to this film but one thing is sure a hard work has gone in for the film. Addressing the media at Patel's Inn in RT Nagar producer Sa.Ra.Govindu made a humble request not to entertain the piracy. The treasurer of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce Sa.Ra.Govindu is seeking the help of cop Gopal Hosur in curbing the piracy. In the Kannada cinema industry there are 5 lakh people working. Piracy would hit such a huge sector severely said Sa.Ra.Govindu. Director of 'Minchina Ota' AMR Ramesh the state award winner for 'Cyanide' Kannada film is very curious to know the results of the audience and the media. He is releasing the film a day a day earlier to Friday in a grand scale. For the first time three super 35 cameras and a steady camera were pressed in to action by cameraman P.Rajan. The most startling climax where the car rams the running train is best part of the cinema says Ramesh. He is directing this film with no remuneration because Sa.Ra.Govindu is his 'mentor'. When Ramesh was in difficult times Sa.Ra.Govindu sent him to Madras Film Institute to educate in cinema and that gratitude Ramesh is returning back in this film direction. On his pride 'Minchina Ota' Ramesh feels extremely happy because the censor has not suggested a single cut and given U certificate.
