The film 'Company' gave the Bollywood film lovers a taste of the great talent of the south superstar Mohanlal. Although 'Aag' was rejected by the viewers, the acting of the Malayalam actor was highly appreciated. Busy round the year with his commitments in the Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal was not seen in any Hindi films for sometime now. But in the year 2009 he will be seen in a movie to be directed by his long time friend and ace film maker Priyadarshan. If everything goes fine and the movie gets released next year, film lovers will be seeing yet another great performance from Mohanlal who is considered as one of the most gifted and natural actors in India. The untitled film is not going to be a typical Bollywood potboiler and will have a strong social message on AIDS. The actor is also looking forward to doing this film with the director as he was not able to act in the recently released realistic film titled 'Kanjeevaram' directed by Priyadarshan. The director has said in the past that working with Mohanlal brings out the best of his talent. Everyone in Kerala knows about the great working chemistry of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal due to the several memorable movies that came through out the 80's and 90's. Seems like the time has come for the whole of India also to know this one of its kind rapport between the two colossal talents.
Mohan Babu to take Rajini route
Mohan Babu has a thing about Rajinikanth. The Tamil superstar is not only a very close friend of Mohan Babu's but is also an inspiration in his career. Mohan Babu has remade some Rajini films in Telugu with egregious success. Now that Mohan Babu's career has been at the crossroads, especially after the quiet response to Political Rowdy, Mohan Babu again hopes to take the Rajni route. Mohan Babu, who is also managing the affairs of his two sons Vishnu and Manoj, is planning to rope in director P Vasu for his next movie. P Vasu has been riding a crest wave of success now. He took Rajini back to his heights with Chandramukhi. Then he has revived Ajith's career with Paramasivan. Vasu is scheduled to do a movie for Balakrishna. After that, talks are on to rope Vasu for a film with Mohan Babu.

He was there simply because he had given a word to his buddy Mohan babu.

Mohan Babu's touching gesture moved Shobhana very much that she said that he (Mohan Babu) takes care of his co-artistes very well. 'This is my fifth film with him and he was the first to congratulate me on my getting the Padma Sri'. On his new movie Mohan Babu said, he played a taxi driver, and Shobhana his wife. 'It is a film with all the ingredients'.

Mohan Babu's love and affection for his daughter is well known (his production house is named after her) and hence he has not left no stone unturned to make the occasion memorable. A couple of days back he threw a big bash for his industry colleagues. The biggies of the industry were all at hand at a popular star hotel to add glitter to the event. It was an A-list event as all the heavyweights were in attendance. Chiru's family, T Subbrami Reddy, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Chalasani Ramesh, Ravi Teja, Srikanth, Jagapati Babu and the entire team provided the glitter.
'Maharathi' audio launch on Nov. 1
The audio of 'Maharathi' directed by P Vasu of 'Chandramukhi'-fame and produced by Vakada Appa Rao with Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sneha and Meera Jasmine in the lead is likely to be released on November 1 directly into the market. Though worked for several Kannada films, music director Gurukiran made his debut in Telugu industry with this film. The hero of 'Maharathi' will have several qualities including gentleness, entertainer and manliness. The director is planning to release the film on November 16. Another speciality of the film is that Jayaprada is playing a key role in this film.
