Madhavan's moment of happiness

Madhavan is thrilled at working in different languages simultaneously. He is part of a Bengali film, Hindi movies and few Tamil films. Talking of his Bengali movie Sunglass, Madhavan refutes the reports that he penned the dialogues for the film. "Rituparno Ghosh is good with Bengali and his Hindi is fairly good. I just happened to help him with a few Hindi lines. I have written dialogues not for Sunglass, but my next Tamil film Ivan Yaaro." Maddy is part of Manirathinam's Guru too. On his mentor, Madhavan says, "He made me reinvent myself each time. It's challenging and rewarding as an actor." Unlike his earlier films with Manirathinam, Madhavan has a short role in Guru. "I come in at a certain phase of Abhishek's life. I play a reporter and believe that in order to do good to society, one should not bend the laws of the land. This is where I differ from the protagonist and oppose his views."

Moments with Manirathnam

A Manirathnam movie always evokes expectations and is the butt of some guesses. His latest Guru is no exception. Though made in Hindi, with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the leads, Guru has already set the industry thinking. Manirathnam as ever is very economical with words. The film's music, by A R Rahman, is also being talked of very highly. Guru is believed to be a story on the life of Ambani (Dhirubhai). Manirathnam, who was in Mumbai recently, said Guru, was a fictional film but hopefully it will be in touch with reality. He added: 'The film is about this character who is from a village and he climbs up the social ladder. So, we follow him and his path is what the film takes.' As we said, Manirathnam is always measured.
