Pachai Kili Muthucharam - All about emotions
Post Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, director Gautham Menon has decided to take a break from cop stories and concentrate on emotion and sentiments. His forthcoming release Pachai Kili Muthucharam is a pointer to it. Interestingly cinematographer Aravindh Krishna, a regular feature in Selvaraghavan's movie team up with Gowtham for Pachai Kili Muthucharam. Says Gowtham, 'The hero, an amiable person, makes a mistake that proves costly. It is time for action and the hero in him is aroused and he sets about rectifying things. How he manages it forms the climax'. Sarath Kumar joins hands with Gowtham for the first time. On choosing Sarath, Gowtham, said, 'We both were planning to do a movie for a long time. I happened to narrate a story to Sarath over telephone and he was impressed'. This would be Jyothika's first movie after her marriage. Music is by Harris Jayaraj and lyrics are by Thamarai and actress Rohini. Mumbai's heart-throb Milind Soman makes his debut in Tamil playing the role with negative shades and a newcomer Andrea is also in the cast.
Pachai Kili Muthucharam audio from today
Pachai Kili Muthucharam, a film starring Sarath Kumar, Jyotika and Andrea in the lead roles, is directed by Gowtham Menon. Like always, he has teamed up with his lucky mascot Harris Jayaraj for the music. The music of their earlier films Minnalae, Kaaka Kaaka and the most recent Vettaiyadu Vilayadu topped the charts. They seem to share a good rapport and this reflects in the music of the songs as well as the picturisation of them. The audio of the film, amidst many expectations, is getting released today. Here's hoping that the magic of Gowtham Harris duo is repeated.

This film also features a Mumbai model Andrea and famous model Milind Soman in prominent roles. Says Gowtham, 'Pachai Kili Muthucharam is an action-oriented thriller. The whole crew, including cinematographer Aravindh Krishna and music director Harris Jayaraj, have given their best. The movie would be quite different from my earlier films and would have family emotions.' The movie is presented by Oscar Films Ravichandran.
Gautham on Pachai Kili Muthucharam
Pachai Kili Muthucharam is expected to underline yet again Gautham Menon's talent for a gritty and an urban thriller. The movie is an adaptation of Derailed. Ask Gautham Menon about it, and he quickly retorts that the adaptation is only of the book and not the movie of the same name. There is a tale behind how Gautham came to film this story. The Derailed book was given to him by Anurag Kashyap (whose Black Friday incidentally released this week). Gautham was immediately thrilled at the story and wanted to get the film rights. And as any self-respecting and serious filmmaker would do, Gautham contacted the publishers, but was told that the rights had been sold to Hollywood. Gautham was in a fix. He initially thought that he would do the movie before Hollywood can do it. He went to Sarath, who was waiting for a script that would help him break the cliched action-mass hero mould. Gautham is also confident that his adaptation of Derailed would have a very contemporary Tamil feel. Gautham has told in an interview that Pachai Kili Muthucharam is a Balu Mahendra-meets-Quentin Tarantino kind of film. Among other things, 'Vilai Uyirendraalum,' 'Parundhu' and 'Silandhi' were the titles considered for the movie. Further, actors like Shobana and Simran were considered for the character that Andrea has played.
