Noted producer Oscar Ravichandran is upbeat about the fortunes of his magnum opus 'Dasavatharam'. He brushed aside the controversy that it has some scenes which may lead to communal clash between Saivites and Vaishnavities. He recalls that his earlier films too had a strong message. 'Films like 'Ramana' spoke against the corruption that prevails in the society, 'Anniyan' dealt in detail about the need to care for the individuals. 'Dasavatharam' is no different for it strives to drive home a point that all are creation of the Almighty', he says. 'Dasavatharam' features Kamal Haasan in ten different roles and stars Asin and Mallika Sherawat in prominent roles. Music is by Himesh Reshammiya while K S Ravikumar has wielded the megaphone.

With the release of 'Dasavatharam', the hard work put in by Kamal Haasan to do justice to all ten characters played by him is well known now. In an interview to the press recently, director K. S. Ravikumar talked about Kamal Haasan's homework in terms of careful preparation and precise execution to get the roles sparkling. Kamal Haasan said, 'Ten characters needed ten different people to help and assist me. My first daughter Shruti helped me fine tune the American accent and dialogue delivery for the baddie character, Fletcher'. 'She spent some time in Los Angeles and has absorbed the way Americans talk. She was of great help to me. I just trusted her and she has indeed done a good job', says the happy father. Shruthi Haasan has signed on a Hindi project named 'Luck' and will be working with the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Imraan Khan and Rati Agnihotri. The movie is to be directed by Soham Shah and is to be shot extensively in South Africa.

Kailash Kher started his Carrier with singing jingles but after this there was no looking back in his carrier. With "Allah Ke Bande" to "Mangal Mangal" his voice reached to millions of hearts all over the world. Secret for his heartthrob voice is that while singing he is in trance with the God. Kailash Kher has recently come up with his new album "Kailasa" which was released in Mumbai by A.R Rehman. Kailash Kher was in Delhi at Le-Meridien for the promotion of his Album "Kailasa". Kailasa consists of 9 tracks and describing his various tracks from Teri Dewaani, which is intense and completely immersed in love to Jaan Jogi Di Naal, which is a Buleh Shah Kaifi, composed in a Sufi style Kailash says "Some people don't have faith in God but believe in love and everyone has a different definition of God so I don't want to define my songs but you will be able to understand what I wanted to communicate with the emotions with which I have sung." He mentions Albela but dwells more on Tauba Tauba, which is very fast paced and pop-ish in style. Kailasa means Heaven and is also the name of Kailash's band. Kailash Kher says about his album "meri album prem ki neeti sikhati hai" ("My album will make you feel the essence of love"). I love my title track "Teri Deewani" which I have composed with heart and soul. Kailash Kher recollecting his memories from the child hood said that, he left Meerut when he was 6yr old and spent most of the days in Delhi listening to his father and chanting Indian folk music. Passion towards the music led him to leave his home at the age of 12 and learnt classical Music. He believes that when you choose a path to live, your choices teach you a lot. There are always two paths one is easy and the other is one where you have to make hard choices, which will ultimately shape you. He reached Mumbai in the year 2001 where he met Paresh and Naresh, now part of his band, and started his journey to Bollywood. Kailasa band loves performing for the youths and also does charity shows. He has uncountable films in his hands. He is the one in the Bollywood who needs no microphone as all his strength lies in his voice. For the style of singing he possess he is being referred as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He has no choices for selecting his actors as he says that he doesn't want to confine his voice. "God is giving me all I want" said the satisfied singer.
"My geeky laugh is a trade secret" - Akshay Kumar
Akshay's act as a naive Agastya Rao with the trademark goofy laugh seems to have caught on everyone's fancy. Right from children to college students are mimicking the goofy laugh and it seems the trend is catching on big time. Even Sajid Nadiadwala is incorporating the goofy laugh in the latest promos of Jaan-e-mann, since it has become so popular. But between all this Akshay has maintained a low profile and let his performance do the talking in Jaan-e-mann. Every critic has raved about the performance of Akshay as Agastya Rao in Jaan-e-mann. It has also been said that Akshay has conveyed his emotions with such subtlety and finesse that its no wonder his movies are one of the biggest revenue earners worldwide." Some other positive words for him go as, "Akshay has convincingly played a shy, clumsy, giggly & tongue-tied geeky suitor to perfection without becoming a caricature & transforms into a suave astronaut but retains certain awkwardness in his character. A truly laudable performance." Truly Akshay seems to be balancing his box-office status quite well. And those who have appreciated Akshay's performance in Jaan-e-mann have to just wait & watch for his next film with Nagesh Kukunoor. When specifically asked about his goofy laugh gimmick and where did it pick it from, Akshay said, "I'm a keen observer of people, but it's a trade secret from where I picked it up. A lot of geeks laugh like this in real life. Yeah I know somebody, who does..'!" Though Akshay is not in the country because he is shooting in Dubai for Anees Bazmee's WELCOME, he sneaked in along with his son in a theatre in Dubai to see Jaan-e-mann!

'My Daddy Strongest', directed by Rahul Kapoor for Producer Suresh Pai along with Co-Partners Percept Film Company and Zee has been completed in a single start to finish schedule in London recently. The cast includes Kumar Gaurav, British actress Tammy Jones & Vishwajeet Pradhan (who plays Tommy Tiger), a London based stuntman, an entertainer with a wicked mind. The USP of 'My Daddy Strongest' is that it is a silent film with no dialogues. Doesn't that remind you of Kamal Hasan's 'Pushpak'? The question remains, will it match the genius of Kamal? Or should we see, will it remotely come close to 'Pushpak'? Only time will tell. It will also mark the umpteenth comeback for Kumar Gaurav.
