More news →'Naaku Mooku' to be set free on August 15
'Kadhalil Vizhunthen', the movie which hogged the limelight even before its release thanks to a fast paced song that features in it, 'Naaka Mooku, will hit movie screens on Independence Day. It is a romantic action thriller set in the backdrop of a college campus. The film narrates a love story in a distinct style. The story is about a young lover, who loses his girlfriend but somehow believes she is still alive. 'Kadhalil Vizhunthen' is directed by PV Prasad, a former assistant to directors V. Sekar and Azhagam Perumal. Nakul (of 'Boys' fame) plays the male lead in the film and Telugu actress Sunaina makes her Tamil debut as heroine. Other important roles of the film are played by Hari Raj, Livingston and Sampath. Vijay Anthony has composed music and lyrics are by Thamarai.S. Vijay Milton is the cinematographer and VT Vijayan is editing the film. The movie is produced by Umapathy with the banner Atlantic Cinemas.
Oru Naal Podhuma to be shot in Canada
Prathap Pothen is back in the Tamil film industry with Oru Naal Podhuma. He is wielding the megaphone for this film which stars Madhavan and debutant Rukmani in the lead roles. Rukmani is a student in the US of A. Music for this film is scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who have already made their presence felt in Bollywood, with ten super-hit films in their music direction. In Mumbai, five songs penned by Vairamuthu have been recorded. This is the trio's first Tamil venture. The muhurat of this film will take place in Canada on 15 April and the shoot will begin soon after the muhurat. The shooting is scheduled to take place for 60 days at a stretch. This is incidentally the first ever Tamil film to be entirely shot in Canada. Cinematography for this film is by Aravind and K Rajeshwar takes care of the story and dialogues. Oru Naal Podhuma is slated for release this August.
Karthi's Yenni Ezhu Naal was penned for Suriya
Speaking at the Anjaan audio launch yesterday [July 22], Suriya revealed that Yenni Ezhu Naal is one among the three scripts narrated by Lingusamy to him. Suriya said, "Before we started Anjaan, Lingusamy narrated me three scripts. All of them are interesting, but I chose Anjaan because the character suits me better". Further Suriya added, "One among the three superb scripts is 'Yenni Ezhu Naal' and Karthi will be acting in it". Post Anjaan release on August 15 for Independence day, director-producer Lingusamy will kick start Yenni Ezhu Naal from September. Samantha is likely to pair opposite Karthi in the movie.
'Naanu Gandhi' in Columbia
Abhivyakthi Chitra's 'Naanu Gandhi' produced and directed by N.R.Nanjunde Gowda has bagged the 10th International Children Film Festival, Columbia. This is the first award a Kannada film has bagged in Columbia festival. This also happens to be the first year of institution of such award. Screened at Cartagena the secretary of education of the district gives the certificate for educational contents in the film 'Naanu Gandhi'. The President of the selection committee Gerardo Nieto has congratulated all those who have contributed for the making of 'Naanu Gandhi' Kannada children film in which Master Likith son of director Gowda plays the lead role. 'Naanu Gandhi' had taken part in the Toronto children film festival recently. The film is based on Dr.Besagarahalli Ramanna's 'Gandhi' novel. Sadashiva Brahmavar, Ramesh Bhat, Sunder Rau, Pramila Joshai, Mandya Ramesh are in the supporting roles of this film. Nagaraj Advani is the cameraman and Raju Upendrakumar has scored the music.
Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi to Restart on Nov 23
Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi, the first Kannada film to be based on bike racing will start its final schedule of shooting on November 23. The film stars the grandson of late music composer GK Venkatesh, Prithvi in his debut film. The film also stars Prakash Rai as a bike racer. The director of the film Preetham Gubbi had given a break to the shooting to concentrate on the release of his other film Boxer that is releasing this week. Once he is done with that he will return to complete Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi. The film is about moto-cross racing which though quite popular in some parts of Karnataka has never been featured in any Kannada film. The stunts for the film will be shot in a real moto-cross racing track in Kolar. The race track belongs to CS Santosh, a Kannadiga moto-cross racer who is famous for being the first Indian to successfully complete the world-famous Dakar Rally.
Naaku Inko Perundi in climax shoot
Musician - Actor GV Prakash's upcoming Telugu Tamil bilingual film Naaku Inko Perundi is in last leg of shoot. 40 Days shooting is done and presently canning crucial climax portion in Chennai. Anandi, who did Trisha Ledha Nayanatara is once again pairing with the Musician. It's an action packed commercial entertainer. G V Prakash will be seen in Local auto wala role in a mass area. Johnny is his Character name which is also a title of Super Star Rajinkanth's film released in 1980. Recently released First Look poster created required decent hype for this film. The title of the film Naaku Inko Perundi trended in all social networking sites. Youth got connected to the title and are eagerly waiting for the release. Music composed by the lead actor will hit the stores soon and Movie scheduled to hit screens this Summer. Popular Production house Lyca Productions banner is producing this mass masala entertainer with uncompromising Budget. Sam Anton is directing this film and Krishnan Vasant handled the Camera.
