'Nagaram' to entice with suspense

'Nagaram' is the film that Srikant is currently shooting for. Already, the news that Manisha Koirala is doing an item song has created ripples in the industry. Now the latest from the film unit is that her role would be the special highlight of the film. Already, there are a lot of expectations from Jagapati Babu's role in the film. A new girl, Kaveri Jha, is playing the lead in the film. Recently, a song has been shot in Hyderabad. The film's plot is said to be entertaining with exciting suspense elements.

'Nagaram' on March 1

Srikant will be seen playing a mass role once again in 'Nagaram' being made by M Anji Babu and P K Kishore Babu. The story as the title suggests is set in a city and Srikant is said to have a well-etched character. The unit has just returned from Mumbai, where they had shot a song Hoshiyare hoshiyare on Manisha Koirala and Srikant. The film is being wrapped up so they can release it on March 1.

'Nagaram' to be Sivaratri special

Come March 6, Srikant will be seen in an all-new, never-seen-before role, he says. His film 'Nagaram' is slated for release on that day, and he is playing an out and out mass role after a very long time. According to the unit, the film is about a young guy who gets up caught up in strange circumstances leading to a grand finale. Naturally, the film has lots of scope for suspense and so the expectations are high from this thriller. Also, the presence of Manisha Koirala and Jagapati Babu heighten the intrigue element.

Koodal Nagar - Set in grandeur

These days, directors and producers opt for huge sets to shoot their movies, perhaps to show grandeur and richness in their content. Bharath's Koodal Nagar too has joined the list. Koodal Nagar featuring Bharath, Sandhya and Bhavana is directed by Seenu Ramasamy and produced by Senthil Kumar and P S Ganesh. Recently a huge set was erected near Dindigul at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, where a major portion was shot. Replicating a village near Madurai, the set housed several hutment, paddy fields and pump-sets. A couple of songs were also shot there. Meanwhile, plans are on to shoot the rest of the film in Karaikudi, Thiruparankunram, Madurai and Kodaikanal. Koodal Nagar has music by Sabesh - Murali and cinematography by M S Prabhu. Says Bharath, 'I go by good stories. The likes of Chellamae, Kadhal, EM Magan and Veyyil had a strong storyline. So is Koodal Nagar. It would take my career a few steps above'.

Thee Nagar audio May 27

The audio launch of Karan's forthcoming film Thee Nagar would be held on 27 May at a grand function in Chennai. With Karan's popularity on an all-time high after back-to-back hits in Kokki and Karuppasamy Kuthagaikarar, the producers of Thee Nagar have planned to go ahead with a gala function. A host of popular film personalities including Tamil Film Producers Council President Rama Narayanan, Silambarasan, Vedika, directors Tharun Gopi, Ravi Krishna and Subash are expected to take part in the event. Since the movie revolves around the students, director Thirumalai has decided to have the first copy of the audio received by the representatives from the students' community themselves. The movie has musical score by Jassie Gift.

Koodal Nagars success emboldens its director

Happy with a decent outing in Koodal Nagar, director Seenu Ramasamy is all set to commence is next venture soon. His maiden venture featured Bharath in dual role and had Bhavana and Sandhya playing his heroine. The movie set around Madurai had good run at the box office. Buoyed by the success, Seenu Ramasamy is all geared up to commence his next. Tentatively titled Thamizthai Vazhthu, the movie would be a heroine-centric film. Search is on for a heroine. Seenu Ramasamy says, 'I want a newcomer to play the protagonist role. Intense search is on'.
