Last evening, cameras spotted Johnny Lever and Prem Chopra amidst a huge crowd of over 3000 people at Bandra-Kurla complex at the Festival of Life. The Festival of Life a Christian spiritual conference held over a span of four days had the likes of renowned Gospel bands Delirious and Hillsongs Australia striking the right chords with the huge crowd. Not many people know that Johnny Lever besides being the comedian that we know, has a very serious side to him. Johnny Lever has devoted a lot of time of his into preaching the gospel and helping the needy. On Saturday noon, the cameras spotted Nagma listening to a talk by Hillsong Pastor Brian Houston. Looks like after a declining career in the film industry from top notch Hindi movies to sleazy Bhojpuri films, Nagma has turned to the good almighty for blessings. It's great that many actors still take time out to do more fruitful things. We wish them all the very best.
NAMASTEY LONDON to take best overseas opening?
Will Akshay Kumar get his best overseas opening ever with NAMASTEY LONDON? Industry is thinking aloud about this to be truly possible as his latest film gets a global release. Reasons are aplenty. First and foremost Akshay Kumar has really turned out to be an actor with a Midas touch with majority of his films turning out to be immensely successful at the box office due to his wide mass appeal. In fact even a film like HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE that just about made it to the coverage mark in India was a decent success in UK, hence reaffirming the point that Akshay is one of the hottest star overseas. Secondly, the film has 'London' in it's title and has Akshay playing a Punjabi boy who woos his wife in London hence giving NRI audience yet another opportunity to have their lovable 'punjab da puttar' amidst them in their own land. With the music already being a good success and the film genuinely carrying good pre-release reports, the above two factors only make NAMASTEY LONDON to be a valid candidate for being Akshay's hottest chance of scoring yet another box office victory.
Nagma makes her debut in Marathi films
Nagma, who acted in many successful films in the south Indian languages, suddenly disappeared from the industry. In 2002, she played the aunt's role to NT Rama Rao in 'Allari Ramudu.' After that, she was not seen in Telugu films. It was then learnt that she had become busy with Bhojpuri films. Now, the latest information is that she is making her debut in Marathi film industry for a film titled 'Thomb Lakshmi Thomb.' The shooting of the film is in progress at Mumbai.
Nagma wants one more chance
None can forget Nagma. The bubbly actress had left an indelible mark for herself in Tamil cinema. Been part of several successful films including Baasha opposite Rajnikanth, Nagma ventured to act in other language films including Telugu and Kannada. Today she has managed to establish herself successfully in Bhojpuri films. A prominent actress in Bhojpuri films, Nagma has been part of several hits there. She is now nursing ambitions to return to Tamil cinema. Nagma has tentatively agreed to be part of a movie titled Sundari. Nagma says, "I have got an offer to be part of a movie titled Sundari. Hopefully things materialize and I join the sets of Sundari soon".
Nagma is headed for Hollywood
After Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty and Mallika Sherawat, it is now actress Nagma's turn to go global. Nagma has been signed to play a prominent role in a Hollywood movie. The English film would be shot in London. 'Yes, I am acting in a Hollywood movie. Time is now ripe for Hollywood producers to identify talent from Indian cinema. I am very happy to go global', Nagma said.
Nagma in Balu Mahendras film
Nagma is making a comeback to Tamil films and that too in 'Anal Katru', directed by the veteran filmmaker Balu Mahendra. While the cast and crew of the movie are yet to be decided, Balu has selected Nagma as the heroine. Nagma, the erstwhile sex bomb and the leading heroine of Kollywood, has been busy in Bhojpuri films, for quite some time now. She has immediately accepted the offer made by Balu Mahendra. She has so much respect on the veteran director that she has not even demanded him to tell her the story or even the synopsis. Balu Mahendra, who has shot most of his films in picturesque Ooty, has now planned to change it. It is said that many portions in the movie would be shot in Chennai. Nagma will be doubly happy, as this could give her a rare opportunity to spend some quality time with her sister's (Jyothika) child.
