Namrata Shirodkar is now happily settled for marital bliss after tying the knot with Mahesh Babu. But suddenly out of the blue she has said she is ready for acting. Well, don't jump to any conclusions. Her marriage with Mahesh is very much on. But Namrata is ready to act not in every film. She says she will act in a film or a promo only if it pertained to providing education to poor children. She recently said this at Shiksha, a program intended to help the education for poor children. Namrata is campaigning this cause. Now she is also ready to act in a short film or something in relation to this.
'Narasimha Swamy' to be released in third week
Addala Venkat Rao and Chintalapudi Vasu are presenting a film 'Narasimha Swamy' on the banner of Lakshmi Balaji Cinema. The film had completed all the post-production formalities and is ready for release in the third week of November. Producers say, 'Prashanth played the title role. These days, there are several people who harm society without any humanity. Our hero would eliminate such people. We are sure that he would get compliments from the audiences for his performance. Ramani Bharadwaj's music and Anil Arasu's fights and chases would enthrall the audiences.'
Namrata should be a home-maker: Mahesh
Mahesh Babu is one star who is candid about what he says. He is not the kind who minces words or talks to create an impression. When asked by scribes about how involved Namrata was in his career, he said that he saw her role as a home-maker. He said that a wife's duty was to look after home and family and said that he would like Namrata that way. Mahesh also revealed that it took him nearly three months to get used to being a father. He said he was enjoying it tremendously though.
Narayanamurthy begins to experiment
First it was the news of Kuchipudi Venkat casting him in his forthcoming film, which could either have Charmme or Anushka in the lead. Even as we are still recovering from the shock, comes the news that he has played a guest role in R P Patnaik's directorial venture 'Andamaina Manasulo', which will be releasing on the Valentine weekend. Apart from these, he has his own production 'Erra Samudram' ready for release which belongs to his genre of films. Looks like he is now game to try and play different roles, as is the norm with most actors these days.
Narasimha Rao wanted Rajini as CM?
Former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao offered CM post to Superstar Rajinikanth in 1996. The then PM had called up Rajini and told him to contest state elections on behalf of Congress. He assured him that he would be made the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu if the party won the elections. The PM was confident that Congress party would capture power in the state if Rajini accepted to contest election on behalf of the party. The sensational news is revealed in biography on Superstar (The Name is Rajinikant), written by Dr. Gayatri Srikanth. The book gives detailed sketch of the developments that took place in the politically turbulent 1996. Rajini, who politely turned down the offer, had, according to the book, suggested the senior Congress leader G.K. Moopanar's name for the post. He also suggested that it would benefit the state if Congress aligned with DMK rather than AIADMK. Rao, however, did not accept the suggestion. He decided to go with AIADMK and the state Congress witnessed a major split following the development. The rebel group led by Moopanar aligned with DMK and the alliance, which got the support of the Superstar, swept the polls. Rajini, who gave up the thrown, had finally emerged as a kingmaker. While everyone knows about the split and the developments that followed the split, few would have known about the offer made by the then PM to our Superstar. By declining the offer, Rajini has proved writer cum Journalist Cho Ramaswamy's words ' 'Rajini is a saint at heart' ' uttered in the launch function that took place last week. The year 1996 has proved to be a landmark in Rajini's life. The speculations on Rajini's entry into politics started in this year and it has ceased to vanish till the date.
Narain going steady
Narain is eagerly awaiting the release of Pallikoodam. The film directed by Thangar Bachchan features Narain in the role of a district collector. Narain says, 'The movie has brought out my acting skills well. Thangar is a magnificent director to work with. He has a great passion for cinema and all the scenes have come out well'. 'To share the screen with a seasoned actress like Sneha was a great joy', he adds Narain has been assigned to do the lead role in director Mysskin's next film Sathiya Sodhanai. After Chithiram Pesuthadi, the dup team up together again. Meanwhile, director Selvah, fresh from the success of Naan Avanillai has narrated a story to Narain and the project is expected to kick off very soon.
