The Regional Board for Film Certification today watched Preetham Gubbi's 'Nam Duniya Nam Style' and has given a 'U' certificate. With the Censor Certificate in hand, Preetham is all set to release the film on the 27th of June. Nam Duniya Nam Style' will be replacing Komal starrer 'Radhan Ganda' in Triveni next week. With 'NDNS' also announced for next week, the number of films scheduled for release next week has gone up to four. Earlier, Roopa Iyer's 'Chandra', 'Cycle' and 'Bidalaare Endu Ninna' was scheduled to release next week. While 'Chandra' is scheduled for Thursday the 27th, the rest two films were scheduled for a 28th release. Now 'Nam Duniya Nam Style' also joins the list.'NDNS' stars Likith Shetty, Krishna Nagappa, Vinayaka Joshi, Milana, Kavya Shetty, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila and others. Preetham himself has produced the film apart from directing it.
Nam Nadu is about politics without politics
Director Suresh is busy shooting Sarath Kumar's Nam Nadu. The movie is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Lion which featured Dileep as the hero. Suresh says, 'Nam Nadu is a movie on politics sans any politics. Sarath plays an advocate who heads a youth organization. Nasser plays his father in the movie'. Suresh shares a good rapport with Sarath Kumar for the two had earlier teamed up for movies including Arasu and Gambheram. 'When I directed Vijayakanth for Sabari, everyone expected that the film will have overdose of political dialogues. However we surprised everyone by coming up with a clean entertainer. Nam Nadu will be no different'. Sarath Kumar plays Muthazhagu, who cares for the society. His role has come really very good. 'I feel confident that Nam Nadu would be a movie to relish in my career', he adds.
Nam Nadu ready for release
Sarath Kumar's Nam Nadu is all set for release in the third-week of September. A remake of Malayalam hit Lion, the shooting for the movie is all wound up. Director Suresh says, 'It's a different film, showing politics in a new light. The protagonist Muthazhagan (played by Sarath Kumar) starts his career as a youth-wing leader of a political party. He goes on to become a minister. His father, played by Nasser, is the Education Minister in the same cabinet. The conflicts between the two form the basis of the story'. On his part, Sarath says, 'What I like about the film is its attractive screenplay. The story has a number of twists and turns to sustain audience interest'. The popular song Vangaiya Vathiyaraya featuring MGR is being remixed for the movie.
Nam Iruvar for IFFI
The famed production house AVM's coveted 1947 release 'Nam Iruvar' has been selected for screening at the International Film Festival in India at Goa, beginning later this month. The movie produced by A.V. Meiyappa Chettiyar was released in 1947. It had a story with patriotic theme with lyrics penned by poet Subramania Bharathiyar. T R Mahalingam played the lead role in the movie. AVM Balasubramaniam, son of the legendary producer, would represent the production house during the screening of 'Nam Iruvar' at the film festival.
Sarath's Nam Nadu begins
Sarath Kumar's Nam Nadu, a remake of Malayalam hit Lion, hit the floors on Wednesday. A movie which is all about a youth entering politics and establishing him successfully is directed by Suresh and produced by Kanakarathna Movies. The production house has churned out blockbusters like Paramasivan and Pokkiri before. Suresh has wielded the megaphone for movies like Arasu, Gambheeram and Sabari before. Nam Nadu was initially titled Azhagiri. Sarath plays the role enacted by Dileep in the Malayalam original. The title Nam Nadu should ring a bell, a landmark movie of matinee idol M G R with a slew of political messages.
