'Nandhalala' starts filming

It is well known that Mysskin is mighty passionate about 'Nandhalala'. The director who delivered two big hits in 'Chithiram Pesudhade' and 'Anjathey' is also acting in his third project apart from directing it. The story is about a six year old kid and a thirty year old 'kid-like' person who go in search of their respective mothers. The journey they take would also be a journey into the very essence of human nature in all it's splendor. Four days of filming is over in a rather quiet manner keeping the intensity of the story in mind. Starting off with the portions that involve the boy and Mysskin, the movie will plod on in a smooth manner. Mysskin belongs to the school of thought that believes in recording the sound portion along with the shooting part. No wonder that this project is rolling on in that fashion. Moreover, online editing is also going on. Shots from multiple cameras cut appropriately on location to get the right effect. Dummy soundtracks have also been posted to gauge the effect and the director is reportedly happy with what he is churning out. A film on children highlighting the finer points of humanity will surely be a welcome relief for Tamil audiences.

'Nandhalala' In search of mom

Director Mysskin known to come up with realistic themes plays an interesting character in the film 'Nadhalala' apart from directing it. The film is under production and is shaping up fast. 'Nadhalala' is supposedly a different kind of movie which talks about varied cultures and heartlands. It is the journey of a young boy who goes in search of his mother and comes across a youth, who helps him in his search. Does the boy meet his mother or not is what the story is all about. If 'Taare Zameen Par' was about a dyslexic child and his feelings, 'Nandhalala' would be about a boy yearning for the love and affection of his mother. Thanks to Mysskin, the movie with a complex theme is being made in such a way that the common man can perceive the innate flow of the story. Mysskin proved his mettle directing movies like 'Anjathey' and 'Chithiram Pesuthadi'. 'His next film would take him to great heights' say sources. 'The film has songs, dance and enough humor to woo audiences', they add.

'Nandhalala' going strong

As reported earlier, director Mysskin's 'Nandhalala' is made with a lot of aesthetic grace and the film is about human relationships pertaining to maternal love. The film stars Mysskin along with a seven year old boy (Ashwath Raman) and both of them go in search of their respective mothers. The story is all about the journey and the people they meet on the way. Shooting for the film is currently going on in Chennai and reports indicate that the climax scenes are being shot. However, all the song sequences are yet to be filmed. Songs are not going to be featured in the traditional format but as montage sequences. According to Mysskin, Illayaraja's songs are tremendously intense capturing the mood of the film in a big way and that the songs would be a big boost for the film as a whole. Scenes involving the mother characters to be shot in Gobichettipalayam. Will a movie like 'Nandhalala' that delves into human relationships be embraced by Tamil audiences? Only time will tell.

Mysskin's 'Nandhalala' creativity unleashed

Mysskin's story 'Nandhalala' has impressed a lot of people including music maestro Ilayaraja and he is composing music for the film right now. The movie is about a 6 year old child and a 30 year old man who search for their respective mothers. They end up meeting a number of people and influence their lives in a big way. Industry sources reveal that Trasky Maruthu (the actor who played Madhavan's father in 'Vaazhthukkal') and director Mysskin have a great creative rapport and had a lot brain storming sessions, so much so that Trotsky Marudhu has been appointed the Creative Director of the film. They had actually met up to discuss about a superhero character for a story in comic format and went ahead discussing about a lot more. The rapport they struck seemed tremendous and we can probably look forward to their association in many more projects. Amaran is working on the art direction of 'Nandhalala'. Posters of the film are being made with pencil sketches and the mood they create relates to the storyline. Probably the first time this is being done elaborately in the Tamil film industry. A very innovative approach indeed.

Highly inspired Mysskin on 'Nandhalala'

Talented and successful director Mysskin is upbeat and excited about his forthcoming venture 'Nandhalala'. A combination of many aspects of the film has kept the 'Nandhalala' team charged up. Maestro Ilayaraja composing the songs and music for the film comes after a detailed discussion with the director. Not only was the maestro thoroughly impressed, but also struck a wonderful chord with Mysskin appreciating his talent and passion for filmmaking. Four songs have been recorded and all of them would be featured in montage sequences. With passion running high and Ilayaraja giving that extra bit of finesse, one can expect 'Nandhalala' to be a clean entertainer delving deep into the exuberance of humanness. In an exclusive interview to musicmazaa, director Mysskin said, "The story is about two children, one a 7 year old and the other a 30 year old child , who go on a journey in search of their respective mothers". The 30 year old child is played by the director himself. Though 30 years of age, the character is child-like in all aspects which could be refreshing to the script and the final impact the movie has in store for its audiences. The 7 year old child is played by Ashwath Raman, a student of Chettinad Vidhyashram who is in his third standard. The boy, it seems, has a lot of exposure to stage acting in school and had already been approached by other filmmakers for roles. Ashwath Ramna's father is a petroleum consultant in Nigeria and his mother a house wife. His role in 'Nandhalala' is expected to propel his career in a big way. 'Nandhalala' very clearly is taking the road less traveled highlighting the lives of 'victims of circumstances'. With an emphasis on human emotions, the film is to be shot in Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. As the depiction of the characters in the picture above shows, the characters walk away from the camera embarking on the journey. Metaphorically, one can assume that though they move away, world cinema's eyes would be firmly fixed on them or even follow them. The way Mysskin has planned out the narration and with the fact that he is brimming with enthusiasm one gets the feeling that he is on the right path to get the right kind of attention.

Nari Kurava folklore in Mysskin's 'Nandhalala'

After tasting sweet success with his first two films 'Chithiram Pesudhadi' and 'Anjathey', director Mysskin is on a high and is currently acting and directing the film 'Nandhalala'. The film is about two characters, a seven year old boy and a thirty year old 'child-like' man embarking on a journey in search of their respective mothers. They meet a number of people on the way and end up being influenced by them. One such influence comes from a group of Narikuravargal (also known as Kurivikarargal). In what can be termed as the very first attempt, Mysskin has roped in an old Nari Kurava woman to sing a song that hitherto has been exclusive to their community. The association with 'Nandhalala' and Nari Kuravas does not end here. Many of these gypsies have also been made to act in the film. The song features probably to bring about authenticity to the portions that they are involved with. According to reports, Saroja, the name of the Nari Kurava woman hesitated initially when she was brought to the recording studio. After a while she asked if she could get some liquor. After she did have her request fulfilled, the woman sang the song 'Hallile' which stunned everyone present there. Director Mysskin is of the opinion that 'Hallile' could very well be the next 'Vaale Meenu'. The director is also happy that he has been successful in bringing a folk song that has been trapped due to social constraints to cinema. Cinema however will take care of publicizing this song. Incidentally the song 'Hallile' is all about praising God in his entire splendor. ' Nandhalala' introduces 'Kathala Kannala' fame Snigitha as the heroine.
