More news →The Chanti mama NTR likes so much
He is fondly called as Chanti 'garu'. He is an industry elder who has worked with the likes of K Raghavendra Rao in the past and SS Rajamouli in the new millennium ('Sye', 'Yamadonga', 'Magadheera' have fetched him the Best Editor Nandi. So, three of the five Nandis he has won are Rajamouli movies). He is Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, whom NTR calls Chanti 'mama'. Speaking at the success meet of 'Janatha Garage' the other day, NTR profusely thanked Kotagiri for the best editing output with respect to his new movie. (Note: In the past, the celebrated technician had edited 'Student No. 1', 'Simhadri', 'Narasimhudu', 'Dammu', 'Rabhasa'). As for Koratala Siva, he expressed surprise at the editor's ability to keep the flow intact. "After watching a scene, I would come out of the edit room thinking nothing was edited out. That is till my assistants tell me that a line was edited out. Such is his technique. Even the director won't discover it because he helps maintains the flow ", Siva said at the success meet.
Ram with B Gopal
B Gopal is once again getting ready to wield the baton after two year gap. His last film was 'Narasimhudu'. Gopal heard the story narrated by writer Surya and immediately approached MS Raju. Raju liked the story and he immediately agreed to do the film. Ram will play the heroin the action flick. Hansika is the heroine. The regular shooting will commence from May 25. Paruchuri brothers will pen the screenplay. More details will be announced shortly.
Ashok - A grand release
The D-Day is nearing close for Junior NTR. His Ashok is all set to hit the screens with a bang. Ashok is set to be release on 13 July, and there is a wave of expectation riding on the movie. For it is very intrinsic to the way Junior NTR's career is headed. It is nearly a year since Junior NTR's last release Narasimhudu made it to the theaters. Unfortunately the film bit the dust and some unsavory incidents (involving the producer of the movie) ensued. That period was almost cataclysmic for Junior NTR. But the young star bid his time and went to concentrate on Ashok. Directed by Surendra Reddy, who gave a hit for Kalyan Ram with Atanokkade, Ashok is said to be an emotional as well as action adventure. The movie stars Junior NTR's favorite Sameera Reddy. Ashok's music is already a hit. All the songs tuned in by Mani Sharma have gone down well with the public. The film released with over 220 prints in over 230 centers ---- one of the biggest releases in recent times. Junior NTR needs a big one. Ashok promises him that.
Is Ashok further delayed?
Obviously these are not good times for NTR Junior. After the failure of Narasimhudu, he took his time and chose Ashok with the young and promising Surendra. With Sameera as his heroine, NTR Junior was concentrating fully on the film. But one reason or the other has delayed the film. Initially the movie was supposed for release late April. Then it was pushed to May. Now the talk in the industry is, it maybe pushed further back to June. Valluripalli Ramesh has produced the movie. By June competition will be less tough, Ashok can then have an easy run.
NTR Junior will let his film speak
Many times, silence is a virtue. NTR Jr knows that pretty well. That is why the cherubic hero, enduring a rough patch, has kept quiet all along. When most heroes prefer to make vacuous noises to keep themselves in the limelight, NTR Jr has preferred the anonymity of quietness. He hopes his Ashok, now confirmed for a release in May, will do the talking for him. After the fiasco of Narasimhudu and the unseemly acts of its producer, NTR Jr was a much hurt man. A sensitive soul, NTR Jr internalized his agony and plunged headlong into Ashok. Though he has taken his time, NTR Jr is hopeful that Ashok will take his career to the heights that it was used to. The film stars Sameera Reddy. NTR Jr has also endured the talks of his having an affair with the film's heroine. Surender Reddy, who is credited with reviving NTR Jr brother Kalyan Ram's career through Atanokkade, directs Ashok. Mani Sharma has scored the music. Valluripalli Ramesh is producing this movie under Maharshi Cinema banners.
