Naseer and Dimple in back to back films

Two of the most talented actors in the country today, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia, would be seen in back to back films this season. First of the two releases is 'Being Cyrus' that hit the marquee this Friday. Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia, play a Parsi couple in the movie and what is notable about their relationship are the one sided fights that Dimple is shown to be picking up with her husband at any given opportunity. The second release would be a completely opposite film in terms of look and substance, 'Banaras - A Mystic Love Story'. The film releases two weeks down the line on 6th April and is based in the holy city of Banaras where Dimple plays an upper class mother of Urmila Matondkar while Naseeruddin Shah is a mystic 'guru'. It has to be ascertained whether both share any screen time together in the film though their mere presence should be a good enough reason for expecting powerhouse performances.

Naseeruddin Shah back as a EVIL man in Krrish

Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH is becoming hotter with every passing day! While everyone is aware about Hrithik playing a superhero in the film, further spice comes in the form of Naseeruddin Shah who plays a REAL EVIL man with a desire to rule the world. He plays a character of a psychopath and has delusional fantasies of wealth, power, and omnipotence. Obsessed with grandiose or extravagant things or actions, he is Dr Siddhant Arya, a scientist, who dreams of changing the future...and the past! Though Shah has acted as a villain in number of films, most recently in Rajiv Rai's 'Asambhav', the closest he came to a character who wants to rule the world through his evil designs was in long-forgotten 'Himmat' that was based on James Bond flicks and had Sunny Deol playing the 'desi' bond!

Naseeruddin Shah in a car accident

Versatile actor Naseeruddin Shah escaped unhurt after the tyre of Scorpio jeep carrying him burst into pieces. He was on his way to the location of Vishal Bharadwaj's Othello, Omkaara at Wai in Panchgani. The actor survived a major scare primarily because the jeep was moving slowly due to the hilly terrain. Knowing his hot headed nature it was not surprising that the unit manager in Wai immediately got a call from him and after spewing choicest expletives for arranging such a 'Khatara gaadi for him,' Shah cooled down. Naseer has a small but significant role in 'Omkara' and he is very happy with the growth of Bharadwaj as a filmmaker. According to him, the promise showed by the music-director-turned-film-director in 'Maqbool' will be enhanced many folds in 'Omkara'. He also awaits the big release of the year 'Krrish' where he plays the villain opposite Hrithik Roshan, the Indian Superman. Besides that, Shah's first directorial venture 'Yun Hota To Kya Hota' will see the darkness of movie theatres this July. MusicMazaa wishes Naseeruddin Shah, one of the giants of Indian Cinema, all the best for the days ahead .

Naseer goes bald for OMKARA

While lot is being heard and said about the looks and mannerisms of the principal star cast of OMKARA, most notably being Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgan and Viveik Oberoi [in that order], there is more to the film that what meets the eye, as apparent by looking at the character played by Naseeruddin Shah in the film. Simply known as 'Bhaisaab' in the film, Naseeruddin Shah bears a bald look in the film with a razor thin moustache to match that gives him an altogether new personality. He plays the role of a sophisticated man with great influences in the Brahmin society! With political connections to match, his looks are deceptive since his profession requires him to demonstrate all shades whether black, white or gray. He has an important role to play in the life of Omkara [Ajay Devgan] as he shares not just a political but personal relationship with him by treating him as his father!

Naseeruddin Shah not in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.

A few days back we had reported that Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of driver of a bus that carries the 6 honeymooning couples in Reema Kagti's debut film 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. Well, that's not really the truth though it came close to being one. On being contacted Reema said, "Yes, Naseeruddin Shah was supposed to play the role of a driver when we had come up with the initial cast and crew for the film. But then there was a genuine clash of dates which Naseer faced and he had to drop out of the project. Instead of him the man who was roped in was Darshan Jariwala who would also be seen in 'Mahatma v/s Gandhi' soon". For starters, Darshan Jariwala is a veteran theater person who has earlier been seen in films like 'Style' and 'Tathastu'.

Naseers son critically injured; in ICU

Naseeruddin Shah's twenty one year old son Imaaduddin Shah met with a near-fatal accident yesterday as he fell off from a Churchgate local train. Imaad, a student of St. Xaviers College was found on the tracks between Mahalaxmi and Parel stations as he was on his way to the college. It was because of his identity card that his parent's identity could be revealed. He was rushed to the Nair hospital where he is in ICU in a critical state but the doctors state that he is out of danger. Imaad was recently seen in a distinguished role in Naseer's directorial debut 'Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota' where he played the chaste-Hindi speaking friend of Ayesha Takia. He is a natural talent. He has received multiple fractures on his elbow but there's no harm caused to his vital organs. A lot of blood has been lost. But it's a sheer miracle that he survived for after falling from a fast local train very rarely does a person survive. MusicMazaa wishes a speedy recovery to Imaad.
