More news →'Nayakan' writer to join hands with director Vishnuvardhan
Veteran writer Balakumaran, known for penning Tamil blockbusters such as "Baasha" and "Nayakan", will be collaborating with director Vishnuvardhan for a yet-untitled project in the language. "It's been a great pleasure working on the script with writer Balakumaran. Been busy travelling with him centuries back. Will update u all (sic)," Vishnuvardhan posted on his Twitter page on Friday. The 69-year old Balakumaran, who has written over 50 novels and 100 short stories, has also been associated with several successful Tamil films such as "Gentleman", "Kadhalan" and "Jeans". Dhanush-starrer 2006 film "Pudhupettai" was his last known work as co-writer.
'Nayaki' new release date is out
Trisha's horror-comedy Nayaki, a Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual was to release on this 8th. However, due to technical issues faced for the Tamil version, the producers have decided to postpone the release to July 15. "The film will hit the screens on July 15 in both the languages. The recently-released teaser and audio are getting very good response. The song rendered by Trisha has been getting a very special response," the producers said. Directed by Govi, this film has Sathyam Rajesh in an important role. The graphics are for about 40 minutes. "This one is a new kind of film in horror genre. Trisha has delivered the best ever performance in her career. There are several shades to her character," director Govi said. Ganesh Venkatraman, Brahmanandam, Jeevi, Jaya Prakash, Sushma Raj, Kovai Sarala and Manobala are part of the cast. Music is by Raghu Kunche. Cinematography is by Jagadeesh Cheekati. Lyrics are by Bhaskarabhatla. Art work is by KV Ramana. Editing is by Gautham Raju.
Nayaki release postponed
Trisha was gearing up for the release of her horror comedy Nayaki, directed by Govi on July 8, Ramzan Weekend. However, due to delay in the censor procedure, the release has now been postponed to July 15. The teaser of the film has left a lasting impression among the movie buffs. Set it in the 80s, the film will be completely centred around the actress, who has also tried her hands on singing. Also, in the star cast is Ganesh Venkatraman, Brahmanandam, Satyam Rajesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala and Kovai Sarala. The directed has already revealed that the film will have 98 percent comedy and 2 percent horror.
'Navarasa Nayaki' Bhavana
Kollywood is quite famous for the fan following who are ready to do anything for their screen gods. And in the past, we had seen much to the extent of temples that were built for worshiping actresses like Khusboo. Very few Malayalee stars like Nayantara also have strong fan associations in Tamil Nadu. But now the news of interest is that a fans association had been formed for Bhavana in Tamil Nadu. The fans of the Madurai and Erode area of the promising young star who has formed 'Navarasa Nayaki Bhavana Rasikar Manram' has also erected huge flux boards at major roads in Erode and Madhurai. Also the association has plans to help the poor school students by providing free text books and uniform. Bhavana was a little late to know about the plans of her fans who had sent her the photos of the huge flux boards and explained to her about the promotional activities of the Manram. The actress at first tried to resist the group, but the organizers of the Manram was not ready to withdraw from their initiatives. The Marnam activists have let Bhavana know that they are even ready to continue with their programmes even without any financial support from their favorite screen star.
Another movie on Daya Nayak
Daya Nayak seems to be the favorite topic for most of the filmmakers nowadays. Firstly, it was Amitabh Dayal who announced Kagar 2, based on the real-life story of Daya Nayak. Then now its Ajanta Films of Bangalore that have completed a movie on the encounter specialist and are set to release it soon. A Telugu newcomer Sachin is playing Daya Nayak in the film and Mahesh Manjrekar plays the role of a character inspired by Chota Shakeel. His name in the movie is 'Kaleel'. The movie produced by A R Raju bears similarities between Daya Nayak and the hero in the movie. Like, the hero also hails from Karnataka and later becomes top encounter specialist; he also builds a school in Mangalore. More than 50 percent of the film has been shot in Dubai.
Trisha's 'Nayaki' launched
Trisha's bilingual horror entertainer 'Nayaki' has been launched today in Chennai. This film, with the tagline "She watches U & Catches U" will be directed by Govi of 'Love You Bangaram' fame. Ganesh Venkatraman, Satyam Rajesh etc will play key roles in this film, which will be made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Raghu Kunche is the music director and Giridhar Mamidipalli is the producer of this film. The posters released recently were interesting and captured attention.
