Dileep is all set to make the upcoming festival season a grand one, with his new film Welcome To Central Jail, which would hit the theatres soon. The trailer of the film got released recently, and has become a hit on YouTube. Welcome To Central Jail has been directed by Sundar Das. More importantly, the film marks the comeback of Dileep-Benny P Nayarambalam team, which has delivered super hits in the past. Benny P Nayaramabalam is one of the prolific writers of commercial cinema and Welcome To Central Jail is the seventh time that the writer is associating with the actor. Out of the six films of the combo, five of them have turned out to be huge hits. Only Spanish Masala, directed by Lal Jose, was a not-so-successful venture. They first associated for the film Kalyanaraman, directed by Shafi. The film was a runaway hit of that year. Later the duo joined hands for Kunjikoonan, which earned the actor, lot of praises. Again, in the year 2005, Benny P Nayarambalam scripted the film Chanthupottu, directed by Lal Jose with Dileep in the lead role, which also turned out to be a blockbuster. Later, Benny P Nayarambalam also scripted Dileep movies like Sound Thoma, Marykkundoru Kunjadu etc. all of which were big hits. With Welcome To Central Jail all set to hit the theatres, all eyes are on this pair. Let us wait to see whether the combo would repeat the magic from the past. We wish them all the very best.
Nayanatara is on the move
Nayantra took her time to come to Telugu. She tested the water through a couple of dubbed ventures. The buxom Mallu actress was seen in films like Chandramukhi and Ghazini. Once it was clear that she had been received well, Nayantra was off on a signing spree. After Lakshmi with Venkatesh, she is now even more on a strong wicket. She is currently doing a film with Nagarjuna. The movie went on to the floors a few days back. Now the news is that Nayantra will play the heroine to Ravi Teja. Amma Rajasekhar, who has proved a success with Ranam, will direct the new film. This film will be produced by Bhogavalli Prasad who delivered the blockbuster Chatrapathi recently. Keeravani is scoring the music. Nayantra is also playing the heroine to Prabhas in Basava, the Telugu remake of the Kannada hit Jogi.
Nayanananda Creations completes first schedule
The shooting of a film being produced on the banner of Nayanananda Creations with a combination of old and new faces is progressing well in and around Hyderabad. Producer and director of the film A Sanjay says, 'The first schedule of the shooting was completed by September 30. We are planning to begin the second schedule from October 5. We will complete the talkie part of the film in that schedule. It is a love story that runs in rural backdrop. Besides love it has also elements like sentiment and comedy. We are introducing Toyajaksha as hero and Manjusri and Pratyusha as heroines through this film.' Lyrics are by Ratnam and Ravinaik, music is by Siva, camera is by Kishansagar, while the story, screenplay, dialogues, direction are being looked after by producer A Sagar.
Nayanatara to pair up with Vishal
Vishal gave continuous hits like 'Prema Chadarangam, Pandem Kodi, Pogaru and Bharani', which were dubbed into Telugu. He earned a fixed place in the hearts of Telugu youth. It is well aware that a straight Telugu film was planned with him recently. The film is being produced by Vikram Krishna on the banner of GK Entertainments. It is learnt that Nayanatara had signed the dotted line to pair up with Vishaal in this film. It is further learnt that a popular director is going to direct the movie. This would be the first-ever combination for Vishal and Nayanatara. Like Vishal's earlier films, this would also be a different film with action backdrop. Producer Vikram Krishna says, 'We kept Vishal's mass image in view while preparing and okaying the story for the movie. Those who watched the film would get an opinion that such a film could be done only by Vishal. We are planning to launch the film in June and release it as a Sankranthi gift. We wish the Telugu audiences would make the film a big hit.' Chances are bright that Yuvan Shankar Raja might provide tunes for the movie.
Nayanatara is the bikini girl
We wondered when we saw her in 'Thulasi'. She was decked in sarees all along. So when a little birdie told us that Nayanatara couldn't hold Athulith, the boy who played her son in the film, we were surprised. The reason, they told us was that she was on a strict diet and high protein drinks. Now, we know why. Our Chennai bureau tells us that she did a bikini scene for Ajit's recently released film Billa. The film is the remake of a popular '70s Rajinikant film and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don. Naturally, Nayanatara, who is not particularly skinny had to shed weight to show off her curves for the film.
Nayanatara's no-no to commercials
It is the latest fad among the film stars to do commercials. After all, it means lots of moolah and instant fame. Not that stars need fame, but their popularity rises depending on the brand they endorse. We have had many south Indian actors doing ads recently. Telugu-Tamil actress Trisha is seen in a bike and soft drink advertisement. So, recently Nayanatara too was approached to do an ad. Given her popularity in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, she turned down the offer saying she didn't want to be seen too often on the television. Logical, but we'll have to wait and see for how long the leggy lass would be able to resist the money. After all, isn't it all about money at the end?
