Bharath is eagerly awaiting the release of his ambitious project 'Nepali'. Donning three different getups for the movie, Bharath says, 'It is an unusual film in Tamil cinema. Director V Z Durai has given his best, while Srikanth Deva's musical score simply rocks'. Meera Jasmine plays his ladylove. Expressing optimism that hard work never fails, Bharath says, '2008 has begun on a good note for me. My 'Pazhani' has made it big among the B and C audience. Hope 'Nepali' will satisfy all sections of the audience'. The movie to release this week-end has managed an 'A' certificate with small cuts. Meera Jasmine has oozed oomph and glamour in the movie.
Nepali trimmed
Bharath starrer 'Nepali' has evoked mixed response from the audience. The movie released last week features Bharath in triple roles. He plays a protagonist who fights against sexual harassment to women in their workplace. Directed by V Z Durai, the movie is produced by OST Films. The latest news is that few lengthy portions in the second half has been trimmed and the movie is made more crisp and racy, say sources close to director Durai. Also a senior police officer has made a plea to the producer and director of the movie to remove certain scenes in the movie which portrays police in bad light.
'Nepali's' new version
Following a legal notice from a senior police officer to the producer and director of 'Nepali' to remove certain scenes in the movie which portrays police in bad light, director V Z Durai has agreed to remove them from the movie. The movie had certain sequences in which a top cop is shown allegedly behaving in a bad manner to a Meera Jasmine and also a jailer moving around in an inebriated condition. It resulted in protest from certain section of the police officers. Durai has assured that those scenes would be edited and the new version will be screened in theatres in the next couple of days.
Director Durai for Nepali...
Director VZ Durai has dubbed for one of the three characters of Bharath in his forthcoming film 'Nepali' to give a different feel to the audience by differentiating between the three roles. It may be recalled that Bharath is donning triple roles in the film for the first time. The film dwells on three different stories in which Bharath is acting as nepali in one of the stories. In the other two roles, the actor is playing as an angry young man and a college student. It is said that Durai has given voice for the angry young man role. With the crew is busy with giving final touches to the 'Nepali' will hit theatres soon. Srikanth Deva plays music for the film while Madhi handling the camera.
Meera is hot in 'Nepali'
Yes, Meera Jasmine, the same girl who is seldom seen in anything beyond sarees, half sarees and churidars, has dared to go for a glamourous look for her forthcoming film 'Nepali'. Directed by V Z Durai, reports from Chennai are that there is one particular steamy scene in the film, which could pose a problem with the censors too! The stills of the film show her prancing around with hero Bharath, who will be playing three roles in it. Looks like this Mallu babe is keen on shedding her onscreen Miss Goody Two shoes image.
Arasangam and Nepali sold
Gone are the days when producers used to worry about the distribution issues of their films. The distribution blues have been considerably reduced after the advent of Corporate Firms entering the field. We could witness more and more corporate firms entering in to the area of film distribution besides producing films. The distribution rights of Vijayakanth starrer 'Arasangam' and Bharath starrer 'Nepali', the movies that are expected to hit the halls by the second week of April, have been sold to Corporate companies. While Pyramid Saimira has procured the distribution rights of 'Arasangam', Reliance Company has bagged the rights of 'Nepali'. The rights of 'Nepali' has been sold to two crore rupees while the amount given for 'Arasangam' is yet to be known. But Pyramid has given the whole amount even before the film is released. It is said that the gesture is in reciprocation to the help rendered by Captain when the company got in to a big trouble during its beginning stage.
