Akshaye is back in town from his vacation from New York. The break has done him a lot of good he has also lost weight and looks good. Career wise too he is gonna be on a roll this year with unexceptional line up of films up his sleeves post the success of '36 China Town.' In addition, Anil Kapoor is so impressed with Akshaye's performance in Mahatma v/s Gandhi that he has already signed him for his next production with Ashwariya. This makes it quite sure that the 'Taal' team will repeat the same magic. Incidentally all his co-stars swear by the talented Akshaye. Ayesha Takia can't stop raving about him since their last film together. And now even Priyanka has formed a mutual admiration society with Akshaye for their forthcoming 'Aap Ki Khatir.' Besides his co-stars, he is also a favorite with his producers right from Subhash Ghai (Taal, China Town) to Ratan Jain (Humraaz, Hulchul, Hungama) who always repeat him in their films. Says Akshaye, "It's been a nice and rejuvenating break. I am excited and looking forward to my forthcoming releases." And he should definitely be looking forward to that, what with Ratan Jain 'Aap Ki Khatir', Anil Kapoor's 'Mahatma v/s Gandhi' & Nikhil Advani's 'Salaam-E- Ishq' slated for release this year. It's gonna be quite an eventful year this year. Watch out as Akshaye is on a roll!
Richa heading to New York for research work
Actress Richa Chadha will be travelling to New York soon to do research for her upcoming film “Cabaret”. Having done theatre here before moving to Mumbai, Richa is a huge fan of New York for its thriving culture of theatre and Broadway. She will spend two weeks there understanding the many elements of being a live dancer performing in front of a huge audience. “I am going to New York in April for work-cum-leisure trip. Hoping the research goes well,” Richa, who will be seen essaying the glamorous and sensual role of a professional cabaret dancer in the upcoming film, said in a statement. Richa will begin shooting in May.
It's New York calling for Arjun Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor has packed his bags and left for New York. The actor took the virtual route to update his fans and followers to share his travel plans. The son of producer Boney Kapoor kept the guessing game on by vaguely sharing that his purpose of travel is “for a cause”. “See you in 15 hours NEW YORK CITY! Flying in for a cause... can't wait... NYC here I come... yippee kaye yay,” Arjun tweeted. On the professional front, after facing recent failures with movies like “Tevar” and “Gunday”, the actor will be seen with Kareena Kapoor Khan in “Ki and Ka”.
'DOR' Enters IAAC Film Festival in New York
Nagesh Kukunoor's critically acclaimed 'Dor' is all set to be screened at the annual IAAC (Indo American Arts Council) Film Festival this month. After screening 'Hyderbad Blues' and 'Teen Deewarein' this is the 3rd film of Nagesh Kukunoor to be screened at this illustrious film festival. Also taking place will be a press conference, discussions and a round of talks with acclaimed writer Salman Rushdie and his actress-model wife Padma Laxmi. The festival is really packed with very strong films this year and 'DOR' has made the line-up even better which is slotted on a Saturday under the Prime Screening Slot on November 4, 06. Opening with Mira Nair's new film 'The Namesake', the makers of 'DOR' are looking forward to the response. The film stars Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag, Shreyas Talpade, Girish Karnad and Pratiksha Lonkar and canvases the journey of two women from different worlds and how these two sets of lives come together through a tryst of destiny. 'Dor' makes you ask yourself how far you will one go to save the one you love. It's a story about love, loss, friendship, hope and ultimately, redemption.
Parineeti to attend India Day parade in New York
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra will attend the India Day parade in New York on Sunday. Parineeti, who has starred in films like “Ladies vs Ricky Bahl”, “Ishaqzaade”, “Shuddh Desi Romance” and “Hasee Toh Phasee”, on Wednesday shared the news with her fans on Twitter. “Representing India at the India Day Parade on the 16th of August at Madison Avenue at 11 a.m.!!! Come meet me New York,” the 26-year-old said. The “Kill Dil” actress left for New York on Tuesday.
