More news →'Padikkadhavan' comes up with educated ideas
Gone are the days when permission to film in railway stations and airports was as easy as pie. Due to these crowded places becoming soft targets for terrorists, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned with their security measures. Therefore, obtaining permission to shoot in railway stations and airports has become very hard and troublesome. Even when permissions are granted, filmmakers find it extremely difficult to complete all the shots within the stipulated time. The makers of the film 'Sathyam' needed an airport to film an action sequence. Airports in India said NO while an airport in Dubai said YES. The crew went over there and canned the shots. Jeevan was supposed to star in a film titled 'Payannigal Gavanathirkku' and the film was to be shot extensively in railway stations. Since permission did not come their way the film sadly had to be abandoned. Dhanush's 'Padikkadhavan' needs a railway station to can some 'vital' scenes. Not sure if permission would come their way, the filmmakers decided to erect a railway station set at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Sources say tremendous effort has been put in to bring about the authentic effort. A wise decision indeed by the team that bears the name 'Padikkadhavan'.
Stuntman injured in 'Padikkadhavan' shoot
Shooting for the Dhanush starrer 'Padikkathavan' is going on at a brisk pace. A sequence wherein a bunch of rowdies waylay politicians in a bid to kill them was being shot. An unfortunate incident happened when a chase sequence was being filmed in Palayamkottai. Low intensity bombs are usually stuck on the windshields of vehicles which can then be operated remotely to capture blast sequences. When one such sequence was being filmed, a low intensity explosive material skidded on to the lap of a stuntman 'Cool' Suresh injuring him. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated. Shooting was cancelled for about two hours. "Padikkathavan' is directed by Suraj who had directed the hit film 'Thalainagaran' earlier.
'Padikkathavan' hunting for a song
The Dhanush starrer 'Padikkathavan' is shaping up impressively according to the director of the film Suraj. However, the team is keen to follow a trend that has proved successful in most of Dhanush films. Remixing old songs such as 'Palakkatu Pakathile' in 'Yaradi Nee Mohini', 'Engeyum Eppothum' in 'Polladhavan' and 'Ennama Kannu' in 'Thiruvilayadal Aarambum' have proved to be successful moves. In order to follow this trend with 'Padikkathavan' too, the filmmakers are keen to identify a song that will go with the mood of the story. Director Suraj says, 'we're finding it difficult to find a right kind of old song at the moment, but we are sure of choosing one soon'. Speaking a bit more about the project, the director said, 'I am sure this film will bring out the talents of Dhanush in comedy sequences. As with all my films this one too is laced with the right proportions of comedy and action'. The director also added that Vivek's comedy in the film is sure to be a riot. Prathap Pothan plays Dhanush's dad in the film and all the scenes involving them is expected to be hilarious.
