Parvathi, who shot to fame with her debut film Out of Syllabus, is now getting an offer of her lifetime. She is now approached to act in a Tamil film, that too opposite Ajith. Director Bala, who saw her while surfing the channels, thought that she is the right replacement for Bhavana in his new venture Naan Kadavul. Parvathi who is presently in the sets of the Kannada film Milano with Puneeth Rajkumar is more than thrilled to know about the offer. 'Bala sir is one of the finest directors in Tamil cinema. I have seen his films and I think it will be a perfect launch pad for me in Tamil", says the young actress who also made a good role in Sathyan Anthikad's Vinodayatra, a big Vishu hit in Kerala.
Parvathi in Poo
Parvathi Melton, a popular Telugu actress, will play the lead role in director Sasi's Poo. Sasi after intense search chose Parvathi Melton for the role. The movie featuring Srikanth as the male lead would go to floors very soon. The movie has music by a debutant S S Kumaran and cinematography is by Sakthi Saravanan. It may be recalled that Parvathi Melton was selected to do the female lead in director Bala's 'Naan Kadavul' opposite Arya . However she was rejected by him at the last moment.
Parvathi dubs for 'Poo'
'Poo' co-produced by Moserbaer Entertainment and Nesaki Cinemas, has Srikanth and Parvathi in the lead. 'Poo' deals with an offbeat love story with a rural and semi urban background. Srikanth is believed to make a powerful comeback with this flick directed by Sasi, who has made some distinctly fine movies like 'Sollamale', 'Roja kootam' dealing with sensitive subjects. The film has been extensively shot in Rajapalyalam for 5 months. Parvathi, who has rendered some noteworthy performances in Malayalam films like 'Notebook', 'Flash' makes her debut in Tamil through this film. She plays a meaty role as a village girl in 'Poo' and the whole crew of the film is in praise of her performance which is said to be mind-blowing. Director Sasi wanted Parvathi to lend her own voice to the character. To get the Madurai Tamil slang exactly right is not something which could be a cakewalk for this girl who hails from God's own country, Kerala. But the actress has accepted and done it at last on the insistence of director Sasi. She has dubbed her own voice for the character in her very first Tamil film, something which many of the actresses here in Kollywood abstain from doing it even after many films.
Parvathi Menon, Pooja Kumar and Padmapriya together in a new movie
Director Vasanth of ‘Keladi Kanmani’ and ‘Aasai’ fame is making a comeback after a long time with a woman centric film titled ‘Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengalum’. Parvathi Menon, Pooja Kumar and Padmapriya are playing key roles while Sundar Ramu of ‘Mayakkam Enna’ fame is said to be playing a pivotal role. The rest of the cast and crew details will be revealed soon.
Song canned on Parvathi Melton for 'Buddha'
The second schedule of 'Buddha' directed by Allani Sridhar and produced by industrialist K Rajasekhar on the banner of Dharmapatha Creations is progressing in Hyderabad. Recently a song was choreographed on Parvathi Melton who was playing the role of Amrapali. Sunil Sharma, who is doing the role of Buddha, and Suman, who is playing the character of Bimbisara, were also involved in the canning of the song. Speaking on the occasion, producer Rajasekhar says, 'We are making the film simultaneously in Hindi, English and Telugu languages, with a view to infuse the non-violence, sacrifice and philosophy in the lives of the people as the present society is full of violence without any peaceful atmosphere. The current schedule would continue till the end of April.' Director Allani Sridhar says, 'We have not taken up the routine and known story of Gautama Buddha, but chose a subject, scripted by Dr K Sivanandamurthy, who made an extensive research on the life of Buddha. Shashi Preetam is scoring music for the movie, while Dr D K Goel scripted dialogues for the original Hindi version.'
Parvati Melton's plans
It is very difficult to say as to what makes a heroine click. Is it looks? Is it glamour? Is It acting skills? Or is some other je ne sais quois? It is all a bit abstruse. If it had been any clearer we should by now understand who will succeed and who will not. When Parvati Melton was introduced to films through that eminently endearing Vennila, many of us thought that the pretty young girl would go places. For, she had both the looks and talent. But somehow, contrary to expectations, the beautiful girl has been slow off the blocks. Yet, everything is not lost. Parvati is very hopeful about Game. Yes, the movie that she is doing with Vishnu. The film also stars Mohan Babu and Shobana. It will be an interesting movie and has been shot pretty fast. Game's audio is being released today and the film itself will be out in August. Parvati is hoping that Game will give her a new lease of life. This girl from US is of course very choosy.
