Phir Kabhi Kabhi

This is the most exciting news in recent times. There is this entire bandwagon of producers and directors remaking old classics- from Farhan Akhtar to Rituparno Ghosh- from Don to Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam. But spring just seems to have come in. Yash Chopra has decided to remake his classic hit of the 70's Kabhi Kabhi. The film was originally made with Amitabh, Rakhi, Rishi, Shashi, Neetu and Waheeda in the lead. This time around, Yash Chopra's favorite hero of our times, Shah Rukh Khan will step into poet Amitabh's shoes. Akshay Kumar will essay Shashi Kapoor's role. The film is expected to be a little different from the original. It will not be a frame-to-frame remake. It will have a contemporary touch to it. The approach and feel of the film will be very modern. Of course we forgot, Priety Zinta would essay Rakhi's role. The USP of the film may be the fact that one can see SRK and Akshay Kumar together on screen. The combination might just work wonders at the box office. Things are still not on paper. So there might be slight changes here and there. But the good news is that spring season of remakes is here.

Phir No Entry!

No! This is not something that you would see if you entered a restricted area. This is what someone would say when he hears that in the season of sequels there will be a spell of laughter with the sequel of No Entry. The film will be on the floors in June. This year one will see sequels like Krrish making their way to the theatres. No Entry with Salman, Anil and Fardeen was the biggest hit of 2005. Boney Kapoor is busy these days planning this sequel. The only fact confirmed about the film is the presence of Anil Kapoor in it. With changes in the script there are sure changes in the cast. Some actors will be repeated while some will be replaced. Information in this regard is still to come. Though the team is planning an extraordinary script, it will be a comedy for sure. After the success of the first No Entry, the team is all energized to make the sequel with double confidence.

Phir Hera Pheri - The BIGGEST promotional number ever?

BIG is the middle name of film maker Firoz Nadiadwala! Whatever the film maker dreams and eventually does, it is BIG. And more often than not, his item songs have always made news, be it the ones in 'Hera Pheri', 'Awara Paagal Deewana', 'Aan' or most recently 'Deewane Huye Paagal'. Now he attempts to repeat the same fate in his upcoming comic thriller 'Phir Hera Pheri' for which the shooting of a promotional number has just seen brisk progress. The song in picture is 'Ae Meri Zohrajabeen' and as we mentioned yesterday, it is a hit in the making due to a lively composition and rendition by Himesh Reshammiya. Well, that's not all as Nadiadwala is making all attempts by making it the BIGGEST promotional number ever! How? By roping in the principal starcast of the film - Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Bipasha Basu and Rimmi Sen. Moreover there are more characters sharing the frame which includes Johney Lever, Rajpal Yadav and hold your breath, even Sharat Saxena. With so many actors coming together for a promotional music video, chances are bleak that the record would be broken in near future!

PHIR BEWAFAAI - Meet the man who loves to make you cry

When Agam Kumar's 'Bewafai' hit the stands a couple of years back, it turned out to be a surprise success. Each of the songs turned into chartbusters and the entire album was lapped up by audience, especially those with a broken heart. The same is expected to happen with 'Phir Bewafaai' too, Agam Kumar's latest album. Just like 'Bewafai', even 'Phir Bewafai' has it's strength in it's lyrics that have never failed to touch hearts. While the first two tracks on air, 'Woh Kisi Aur' and 'Har Kasam Tod Di', are written by Praveen Bhardwaj [who has also written a couple of other tracks for the album], the majority of 'Phir Bewafaai' is penned by Prashant Vasl. Prashant has written as many as 6 tracks for the album with each of them being soaked in painful love, something which suits the genre of the album to the T. These 6 tracks are 'Ishq Na Karna', 'Aei Mere Dil Bata Kya Bura', 'Tu Pyar Kisi Se Na Kar', 'Mere Dil Ki Hai Awaaz', 'Kisi Aur Ke Naam Ki Mehndi' and 'Badi Door Badi Door Chala'. The lyricist is not new to the world of music as he has written songs for superhit albums like PYAR KE GEET [Rajshree music], PIYA BASANTI [Sony music] and LAMHA [HMV]. With T-Series known for it's tremendous marketing campaign, one looks forward to see which is the first Prashant written track that would be on air soon!

'Phir' to have the same couple of '1920'

For a fresh actor getting a good break with a top production banner and an established director at the helm of things is a tough task to achieve in the highly competitive Tinsel Town. If a new actor having none to point out as the godfather gets such a good break, then he or she has got the first firm step to stand on. And if the first movie turns out to be a hit, then the term 'extremely lucky or fortunate' is the only one which can be attributed to the persons who have tasted success. So Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma can both be called as severely lucky to have landed up roles in the horror film '1920' which has proved to be the second coming of the director Vikram Bhatt also as he was going through a lean patch for sometime now. The success of '1920' has ensured both the lead actors a three film deal with the production house ASA Productions & Enterprises Ltd. The first of the three films is called 'Phir'. The film is touted to be a suspense-thriller to be directed by Girish Dhamija.

To Phir Aao is my film's signature track - Mohit Suri

Mahesh Bhatt's obsession for melodies from Pakistan continues with Mohit Suri's forthcoming Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan. Not many years back, Bhatt discovered Atif from Pakistan and used his hit tracks in Zeher and Kalyug. With Atif becoming a household name in India, it's the turn of talented twenty-something Pakistani youngster, Mustafa Zahid, to come under the illustrious Bhatt umbrella. Mustafa's To Phir Aao from Awarapan has become an overnight rage and is on its way to becoming a cult hit like the tracks on the Bhatts' erstwhile soundtracks. Not many know that vocalist Musti (as Mustafa is fondly called) formed the ROXEN band a few years back in Pakistan with Jawad Muhammad (known as Jodi) on rhythm guitars. Later on Omar Farooq joined them on bass. The name suggested by Musti's friend Kashaan has been derived from Roxen-e-Deewar, which means a light inlet in the prison. It seems Khurram from Jilawatan Productions in Pakistan was in touch with Mahesh Bhatt. The latter liked To Phir Aao and the track found its way into Awarapan. "To Phir Aao is my film's signature track," says director Mohit Suri. "It's one of the most brilliant numbers I've heard. We have it in three different versions on the soundtrack - lounge, rock and remix. It's already playing in the clubs. People are loving it," he signs off from the suite where he Awarapan is being edited for a June 29 release.
