Veteran actor Prabhu, who had played as hero in over 100 films, settled down to play character roles. His role in movies including 'Something Something Unakum Enakum', 'Billa' and 'Thamirabarani' won accolades for him. Prabhu, son of thespian Sivaji, will now play a prominent role with negative shades in a movie titled 'Enga Veetu Pillai'. The title of the movie is inspired by a yesteryear hit MGR movie. Interestingly Vijaya Vauhini, producers of the MGR starrer, ventures to churn out the new version that would feature Sakthi, son of P Vasu and Prabhu in the lead role. It may be recalled that in 'Chinnathambi', Sakthi played junior Prabhu. Sources close to the production house said, we have just retained the title but it is no remake of MGR classic.
‘Namma Veetu Pillai’ or ‘Unga Veetu Pillai Vijay60 Title ?
Ilayathalapathy’s ‘Vijay 60’ is almost 70 percent completed and the rest of the shooting is expected to finish in a couple of months after which the film will go into the last stages of post-production in time for a grand Pongal 2017 release. There have been speculations that the film will be titled ‘Enga Veetu Pillai’ which the team denied and some sources said that the film could be named ‘Namma Veetu Pillai’ or ‘Unga Veetu Pillai’. We got in touch with a source close to the team who revealed that ‘Vijay 60’ will have a SINGLE WORD title like 'Thuppakki', 'Kaththi' and 'Theri'. The official confirmation will come out on Diwali this year when the title and first look will be unveiled.
Vijay60 not titled as 'Enga Veetu Pillai'! Vijay's PRO slashes Rumours
Recently there was a news that Vijay's next film with director Bharathan, has been titled as Enga Veetu Pillai which is the title of MGR's superhit movie. But now the PRO of the actor has clarified that it is a mere rumour and the official title will be announced very soon.Being directed by Azhagiya Tamilmagan fame Bharathan, the film will reportedly have Vijay in dual roles, and the shooting is currently going on in Tirunelveli.
Bhama in Rajesh Pillai's Manju Warrier starrer
Bhama will reportedly play a pivotal role in Rajesh Pillai's upcoming movie titled 'Vettah'. The movie has Manju Warrier and Kunchako Boban as the protagonist. ANother character too will lead in the story. This is a psychological thriller and will explore facets of mind games that Malayalam cinema has not yet tried out. Manju Warrier will play an IPS officer in the movie. This is not a woman centric movie, considering Manju in it. It will give equal importance to all the characters. The shooting will begin by October.
'Pilla Dorikithe Pelli' to go to sets on June 11
Produced by MS Vasu on the banner of Sri Gayatri Films, the shooting of 'Pilla Dorikithe Pelli' introducing Vijayakrishna as director with Baladitya as hero would be launched on June 11. Announcing this, producer MS Vasu says, 'There will be four heroines in the film and it would start roll on June 11. It is an out and out comedy film with family subject in its backdrop. Vijayakrishna had worked as co-director for several Tamil films and we are introducing him as director through 'Pilla Dorikithe Pelli'.' Presently Baladitya is playing hero in 'Sandhya' under the direction of Ganamurali in which Gayatri is playing as heroine. Immediately after the completion of the current project, Baladitya would join the shooting of this film.
'Pilla Dorikithe Pelli' completes 75% shoot
Over 75 per cent shooting of 'Pilla Dorikithe Pelli' directed by Vijayakrishna and produced by MS Vasu on the banner of Sri Gayatri Films with Baladitya, Pravallika and Geeta Singh in the lead was completed. The film was shot for about 9 days at Sivasai Temple in Kanchikacharla of Krishna district recently. With this the first schedule of the film was complete. The second schedule would begin on September 6 and would continue till 16 in Hyderabad. Three of the songs in the film would be shot in Singapore, Malaysia and Bangkok. Baladitya had got a character which is similar to the ones played by Rajendra Prasad, Naresh and Allari Naresh earlier which gave them a good break as artistes. AVS, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao and others are in the cast. The film is slated for release in November.
