‘I am doing two exciting movies’; says Prashanth

Actor Prashanth has celebrated his birthday yesterday morning in a simple yet well-designed way at the Guindy Park in Chennai. On the occasion, he cut a cake on the sets and shared his feelings and future plans to the media who came to greet him. Prashanth said “It is going to be a great year for me. I am extremely happy that I am doing two exciting movies- ‘Ponnar Shankar’ and ‘Malaiyur Mammattian’. While the former has dialogues by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the later, which is a remake of a yesteryear hit starring my father, is directed by my dad Thyagarajan himself.” He further adds “Malayur Mammatiyan is completed and it has come really good. The shooting for ‘Ponnar Shankar’ is on. It was a privilege for me to speak Kalaignar’s dialogues. His pen is really sharper than sword.” He also said “I have signed four big projects and details would be out soon”.

Prashanths plans

Prashanth, after almost a year, had couple of films - Thagappansamy and Adaikalam releasing in theaters last year. However the movies managed a mediocre run at the box office. Prashanth has been hoping for reversal of fortunes with Pulan Visaranai II. A sequel to Pulan Visaranai, directed by R K Selvamani and produced by Ibrahim Rowuthar, the movie is still to near completion. With his Kutrapathirigai managed to hit theaters after overcoming all obstacles, Selvamani is geared up to complete Pulan Visaranai II in a hurry and release it the next couple of months. Grapevine is abuzz with rumors that Prashanth has been chosen to play the lead role in Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's 'Ponnar Shankar'. His father Thyagarajan might produce the same.
