Suddenly Pokiri has become very hot among the trade circle. The film's promos have been released just now and the industry men are just lapping it up. Pokiri, starring Mahesh Babu and Ileana, is set for April release. Puri Jagannadh has directed it. It is a film that Manjula, sister of Mahesh, has produced. The promos have been slick and Mahesh in particular has been looking stunning. Cast in the role of Pandu, Mahesh's character is one of a person who does things on his own terms. It is not arrogance that drives him. It is confidence. Mahesh has relished the role. And he says as much. After Athadu, he feels he is sitting on another winner. It must be a good year for Mahesh as soon after Pokiri he will have Sainikudu, another big-time venture. Sainikudu is also progressing fast. Mahesh has learnt to hasten things in his career. For a man known to tarry his movies, both Pokiri and Sainikudu will be quick ventures. Pokiri will be an out and out mass venture ---- a weighty one, too.
Pokiri's audio in April
The audio of Mahesh Babu's Pokiri is tentatively planned to be released on 2nd April. The film, which features the promising Ileana as the heroine, is currently progressing at a fast clip. Puri Jagannadh is the director. The film's climax is being shot now in Chennai. A couple of songs remain to be shot and maybe done in Europe this month. 'Pokiri' completes 175 days in 63 centres
Maheshbabu entered the film industry as 'Rajakumarudu' as the heir of Super Star Krishna. He proved himself as an artiste of eminence with 'Murari'. Later, he showed his stamina with 'Okkadu' and further strengthened his position with the success of 'Athadu'. With his latest flick 'Pokiri' he proved one among the top heroes and established himself as 'Prince', a title that was given by his fans. When it comes to heroine Ileana, she made the Telugu audiences as 'Devadasus' with her glamour and won their hearts with her beauty in 'Pokiri'. As of the director, Puri Jagannath made his debut with Badri, and later made his films 'Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Sivamani' big hits. His latest film 'Pokiri' had rewritten the history of 75-year-old Telugu cinema, produced by Manjula. The film 'Pokiri' had created yet another record in the Indian film industry by completing 175 days in 63 centres across the State. Though the director Puri Jagannath claimed that the different presentation of the hero, and Mani Sharma's music, had helped for the success of the film, it is he who portrayed the hero's character in an impeccable style. One thing is proved that the Telugu industry started coming out of slump as a majority of Telugu films were proved hits this year. The entire unit gave a new lease of life to the Telugu film industry with their film 'Pokiri'. Another notable point is that the Telugu film industry had erased the image that dubbed films would only remain hits as there was some creativity in them and it was proved that our directors are the best and second to none. 'Pokiri' had received compliments both from the Tamil super star Rajinikanth and the Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Moreover, 'Pokiri' is being remade in Tamil as well as Hindi after it proved a tremendous hit.
Pokiri completes 175 days in 63 centres
It is a well known fact that 'Pokiri' directed by versatile director Puri Jagannath and produced by Manjula with Mahesh Babu and Ileana in the lead had rewritten the records of the Telugu film industry and proved a huge commercial hit. The film had completed 50 days in 300 centres, 100 days in 200 centres and created a record on its own. According to newspaper reports and advertisements 'Pokiri' had completed 175 days in 63 centres and remained a milestone in the Indian film industry's history. Earlier, it was 'Simhadri' of NT Ramarao, which had created a record by celebrating 175 days in 53 centres and 'Pokiri' of the Prince Mahesh Babu broke that record.
Pokiri Brothers for Dec 1 release
The Tamil hit film 'Kovai Brothers' is being dubbed into Telugu as 'Pokiri Brothers' by producer Mutyala Ramdas. The film with Satyaraj and Sibiraj in the lead is all set for release on December 1. Producer Mutyala Ramdas says, 'Each person has his own method to teach a lesson to the corrupt officials. Our 'Pokiri Brothers' also bring shivers down the spine of the corrupt officials and work for the uplift of the society. Satyaraj who moves like a vagabond gets enlightened with the death of his niece. The officials try to fleece him with her death. So Satyaraj decides to take revenge against those government officials and tries to cleanse the society from the corrupt officials. How he teaches a lesson to the corrupt officials is the story of the film. Both the father and son, Satyaraj and Sibiraj, have competed with each other in performance. The comedy track between Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala is hilarious.' This film has lyrics by Krishna.
Pokiri Pilla to release in Dec 2nd week
The Malayalam hit film 'Lanka' directed by AK Shahan with Suresh Gopi and Mamta Mohandas in the lead is being dubbed into Telugu by Kethireddy Harish Reddy under the banner Dhruti Cinema as 'Pokiri Pilla'. The film was reportedly made based on real life incidents that occurred in Sri Lanka. The glamour of Mamta Mohandas and the performance of Suresh Gopi are expected to make the film a big hit in Telugu as well. It is an action-packed film and the dubbing works are in progress. It is planned to be released in the second week of December
