It is almost official now. The biggest release of the summer, Pournami, will make it to the theaters on April 20. This MS Raju's venture after the record-breaking NVNV. Directed by Prabhu Deva, Pournami stars Prabhas, Trisha and Charmi. Sindhu Tolani and Madhu Sharma are also there to add more glamour. MS Raju is producing the film under the Sumanth Art Productions banner. Devisri Prasad scores the music.
Pournami a big hit
Pournami was a big hit and is getting the expected response from audience producer M.S.Raju said. He spoke at length about the film, "First 2 days, there was a mixed response but now the movie, no doubt is giving desired results. I have made the film for the sake of 7.5 cores of people but not for 2,000 film critics. Collections crossed Rs. 7 crores only in Andhra Pradesh in the first 8 days. This movie has proved that audience are the final judges and not media. The story of "Pournami" is different from routine and it is my favorite film. Dr. D.Ramanaidu after he saw the film congratulated me for making such a grand movie. Audio got a tremendous response and Platinum disc celebrations will be held on Sunday. Prabhas did a commendable job and is getting praised by audience. When I expressed my desire to make a film with him, Prabhas even had not asked me about the story, cast etc. Just he had given the dates and asked me to proceed".
'Nindu Pournami' in regular shooting
Around 40 per cent shooting of 'Nindu Pournami' directed by Krishna Thota and produced by EVS Chary with Rajendrababu, Payal in the lead and Dr Sambasiva Rao in an important role was completed. Krishnaveni Films and TBS Creations are jointly producing the film. Producer Chary says, 'Some part of talkie, besides a fight and three songs were shot so far. Of them two songs were shot on the hero and heroine, while the other was shot on the lead cast. We are planning to complete the talkie in February and are trying to release the film in March.' Director Krishna Thota says, 'The film is based on real life incident. When the effect of Pournami falls on a woman, she behaves in a different way. The film is based on such incidents. A fight choreographed on Dr Sambasiva Rao, who did it without the help of a dupe, is the highlight of the film. I am sure that the film would earn me a good recognition as director.'
All set for Pournami
The stage is all set for the release of Pournami tomorrow. Produced by M S Raju and directed by Prabhu Deva, Pournami stars Prabhas, Trisha, Charmi in the main leads. Coming as it does from the Raju-Prabhu Deva combine that gave the biggest blockbuster of 2005 NVNV, there is lot of hope and expectation riding on Pournami. Apparently a period kind of film, Pournami has got all the ingredients to attract every section of the fans. The producer says that the film will have a totally different feel and flavor all through. The film has five heroines, so the glamour quotient is pretty high. 'The story is interesting,' says the producer tersely. 'It is based on classical songs and traditions,' he adds. He is not ready to get into a big discussion on the film's script details. 'Wait and watch,' he says with a smile. The music of Devi Sri Prasad is already a hit. Prabhas and Trisha are in M S Raju's film after Varsham. So on that count too there is high expectation. All told, Pournami, should be interesting.
Pournami to speak Tamil!
Joining the long list of movies to be dubbed from Telugu to Tamil is 'Pournami'. Pournami, a blockbuster Telugu movie was directed by Prabhudeva. The movie featured Trisha and Prabhas in the lead roles. With Trisha enjoying huge fan-following in Tamilnadu and Prabhudeva, an happening name in Kollywood, efforts are now on to release the film in Tamil too. Interesting in the recent past, several Telugu movies have been dubbed in Tamil. Mahesh Babu's 'Athadu' and 'Aithee', Nithin's 'Sye' are some of those.
Moondram Pournami, a story of three generations
Raveendhar, who cranked the camera for more than 50 films including Chinnathambi, wields the megaphone for the first time. His debut venture as the director is titled Moondram Pournami and it has Livingston, Alex, Murali Raj playing prominent roles. The female leads are played by Preethi and debutant Divya Nair. This film is a potpourri of incidents that happen in a young woman's life. Interestingly, the story spans three generations. Raveendhar also takes care of the screenplay and handles the camera for this film, which has music by Deva. Piraisoodan writes the lyrics while DKS Babu takes care of choreography.
