Prem Misses Chandra Promotion Again!
Looks like the rift between 'Lovely Star' Prem the hero of 'Chandra' and director Roopa Iyer is not yet over. When Roopa Iyer had organised for a press meet last Monday, Prem restrained from attending the press meet due to various reasons. Prem had said that 'Chandra' is his film and he will be promoting the film in future. But Prem's absence was again noticed at another press meet recently held in Bangalore. It was the press meet organised in Kormangala's EZONE, which was attended by Padmashri Vivek, Roopa Iyer, Ganesh Venkataraman and others. The ace comedian Vivek had flown down from Chennai to attend the press meet and release the video songs of the film. Though Vivek and Ganesh had come from Chennai to Bangalore, Prem who is a localite was absent during the press meet. When Prem had declared that he will definitely promote the film and it is his job to do so, then why didn't he turn up at the press meet? Didn't Prem get an invitation from the film team to address the pressmeet? Is yet to be answered.
Prem Aparanji or Fair N Lovely
Director Raghuram's new film starring Nenapirali Prem and Swetha Srivatsava will start on September 9. Song recording with Harikrishna will start on that day. The director, who has registered the title Kaali Bottle last week is unlikely to that for this film. He said the story, written by Yetiraj, is a humorous love story and the Kaali Bottle title is not classy enough. Two other titled are under consideration; Aparanji and Fair N Lovely. Since Prem is called the Lovely Star, this title may be settled upon. The film is produced by Shilpa Ramesh, who earlier made Dev Son Of Mudde Gowda with Indrajith Lankesh. Depending on the release of Prem's other film Male, this film will be scheduled. The shooting will start on October 14. The release will be either on January 14 or February 14 next year.
Prem Urges to Promote Films in Border Towns
Actor Prem has urged the artistes and technicians to promote their films in border towns and create a market for Kannada films there in the coming days. Prem was talking during the success meet of his latest film 'Maley' being produced by Shiva Tejas and produced by R Chandru. 'On Sunday we had gone to border town Chitamani to promote 'Maley'. The show was houseful and I was shocked to hear that no Kannada actor had come to the town to promote their film till now. The people there said that there is a wrong notion in the film industry that Kannada films do not run there. Kannada films definitely have a good market there. Kannada film industry must make use of it and must not only release the film there, but also must promote their films' said Prem. Prem also said that the earlier seven week moratorium against other language films is needed for the welfare of the industry. 'With so many big other language releases, the Kannada film industry is very much suffering. So, it is better to bring back the seven week moratorium against other language films' said Prem.
Male - Prem, Amoolya Together
Prem starrer 'Male' which is being produced by director R Chandru under his R Chandru productions is all said to be launched on the 09th of August in Bangalore. The film which has Prem and Amooly to be teamed up for the very first time is being directed by debutante Tejas. Prem says the decision to do another film started during 'Charminar' itself. 'During the making of 'Charminar' itself, I had promised R Chandru that I would do another film with him, whatever the fate of 'Charminar' would be. According to the promise, I am doing another film with him for his banner. As he is busy with 'Bramha', his associate Tejas will be directing the film. After this I and Chandru may do another film together' says Prem. Though the film is scheduled for a August 09th launch, nothing much about the film has been finalised. First it was being said that Chandru's regular cameraman, K S Chandrashekhar will be handling the camera. Now as Chandrashekhar is busy with his other commitments, the search for a suitable cameraman as well as a music director is on.
