Baisakhi' the festival of Joy, Happiness, Dance (Bhangra) and Music. This is the festival where farmers start cutting their harvest after a long one year hard work in the fields. As the April starts crops grow and all farmers gather to cut their yields and congratulate each other for the outcome by saying 'Jatta Aai Baisakhi'. Initially this festival was just being celebrated among Punjabi's but nowadays this festival is being celebrated widely. One more importance of this festival is that Guru Govind Singh selected 'Punj Pyare' and established Khalsa Panth. As per the Sikhs faith Punj Pyare's suppose to wear Kanga, Kesh, Kada, Kirpan and Kachha and look after the traditional rituals. Which ever festival it may be it consists of Dance, Music and Masti to enjoy by forgetting all day to day hustles. To make this festival more colorful Rely organized a musical evening with Punjabi Pop Singer Ashok Mastie at Pragati Maidan Hamsdhwani Auditorium, New Delhi where organizers made all arrangements to enthrall audience. Ashok Mastie started this stunning evening by wishing Baisakhi and performed Punjabi Songs like his ever green 'Khadke Gilasi' and 'Challa' from his album The Beat, Wah Bahi Wah. He presented other songs like A..A'Ashiqi Mein Teri and a medley of old & new bollywood songs on which audience started swinging. Rely created an artificial set of a village fair to give a traditional touch to this event. Artificial set was appreciated by the audience a lot. Young girls performed their traditional dance called 'Gidda' on these sets in their traditional colorful attires.
'Pandarangadu' to shoot songs in Thailand, Indonesia
Now, if that comes as a huge surprise, then rest assured what you are reading is true. Yes, the team is preparing to leave for south-east Asian countries soon. The devotional film being directed by K Raghavendra Rao has Balakrishna playing the lead, along with six heroines. He plays the god and his devotee. Naturally, the story does not call for locales abroad. However, the ingenious team decided to take advantage of history and say that since Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia have historically been Hindu nations, and hence would be ideal to picturise some songs there. Apparently, they will shoot some devotional songs, instead of the usual masala item songs. Well, surely our industry is going places!!
Punjabi girl to play in '16 days'
The popular Punjabi girl, Charmme, had become a special attraction in the Telugu film industry and several producers and directors are after her to do heroine-oriented subjects with her, as her recent films, 'Anukokunda Oka Roju' and 'Mantra' became big hits. Prabhu Salmon is now directing a film with Charmme as heroine simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages. P Maheshbabu and D Nageswara Rao are jointly producing the film on the banner of Cosmos Entertainment and Future Films. '16 Days' is the title under active consideration for the film. The story revolves around hero Aravind and heroine Charmme. It is in fact a 16-day journey involving both of them. Over 50 per cent of the film was already shot and the latest schedule is likely to begin very soon. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Manorama, Brahmanandam, Jayaprakash Reddy and others are in the cast. The producers are making efforts to release the film during the latter half of this year.
'Punnami Nagu' shooting in progress at RFC
Shooting of 'Punnami Nagu' directed by A Kodandarami Reddy, presented by G Maheswara Reddy (Sai Reddy) and produced by G Vijayakumar Goud on the banner of Sound and Claps with Mumait Khan in the title role is in progress at Ramoji Film City. Rajiv Kanakala is playing the hero opposite Mumait Khan. Producer says, 'Presently we are canning a song 'Boddu Kinda Cheera Kadithe Kangaru'' penned by Bhaskarabhatla and tuned by SA Rajkumar. We gave preference in portraying different emotions on the screen through our movie.' Yandamuri Virendranath penned the story for the movie. Sajid Khan, son of noted Bollywood artiste Amjad Khan is making his debut in films thorough 'Punnami Nagu'. MS Narayana, Varni of 'Style'-fame, Lochan of 'Don'-fame and others are in the cast. There will be one more heroine in the movie. Dialogues and screenplay are by Swamiji, camera is by PN Babu, editing is by Nandamuri Hari, art is by Krishnamaya, action is by Vijay, while choreography is by Sivashankar, Pradeep, Anthony and Swarnababu.
'Punnami Nagu' completes second schedule
The second schedule of 'Punnami Nagu' directed by A Kodandarami Reddy and produced by G Vijaykumar Goud on the banner of Sound and Claps with Mumait Khan and Rajiv Kanakala in the lead was completed recently. Producer says, 'We completed the second schedule by shooting film in Ramanaidu Studio, Golconda Fort, Rock Castle and Nanakramguda and other such locations. Over 80 per cent shooting, besides three fights and one song were completed so far. Popular Tamil director Manobala is being introduced as an artiste through this movie. He would enthrall the audiences with his comedy as an inspector of police.' Director says, 'Yandamuri Virendranath gave the story for the film while the film has all kinds of elements that could attract mass audiences. We are trying to project Mumait Khan in a novel angle.' Orni, Lochan, Vinodkumar, Madhu, MS Narayana, Srinivasa Reddy, 'Allari' Suhasini and others are in the cast, while Nalini is playing the role of a sorceress. Dialogues are by Veligonda Srinivas, screenplay is by Swamiji, music is by SA Rajkumar, camera is by PS Babu, action is by Vijay, art is by Krishna Maya, while choreography is by Ashokraj.
'Punnami Nagu' tours China
A.Kodandarami Reddy, a popular director who reaped huge hits in legendary combination with Chiranjeevi, is directing the film 'Punnami Nagu'. The story is based on Yendamuri Veerandranath's novel. Mumaith Khan is playing the lead role alongside the hero Rajiv Kanakala and G.Vijaykumar Goud is producing it on Sound & Claps banner, comprising of a huge budget. Recently, the climax was shot on a huge level, featuring all the artists in the film. The talkie portion is completed with an exception of two songs. In this connection, a press meet was held today by the unit. Speaking to the press producer G. Vijaykumar Goud said, "Our production Punnami Nagu with Mumaith Khan is almost complete except for two songs and some patch work. We have planned to shoot the songs in the locales of Bangkok and Hong Kong from 10th of November. One of them will be canned on Mumaith Khan, and another one will be featuring Mumaith Khan, Rajiv Kanakala and Suhasini. 'Amma' Rajasekhar will choreograph the songs. The shooting will continue till 16th; once the songs are canned we will come back to Hyderabad and complete the patch works followed by dubbing, re-recording, mixing, DTS effects, and will release the film in the first half of December." Director Kondandarami Reddy says, "We are making this film without compromising on any of the factors. There is no need to mention specially about the main lead artist Mumaith Khan, because everyone is acquainted with her skills. It is very easy for her to work on song sequences; however, in the action scenes she is very careful and also rehearsed for some sequences. I am satisfied with her work as an artist. Fight master Vijay has shown lot of involvement. Rajiv Kanakala was very co-operative and completed his part in the planned schedule. Nalini who works alongside for soap opera's managed her time and did her part. Producer Vijaykumar is the person who supports this movie and doesn't compromise on the quality and gave me ultimate freedom. I am sure this movie will be successful." 'Till now I have done a variety of roles in my films, and I am sure this character will bring much more recognition. This film will be a milestone in my career. All of us in the team worked hard. I am very confident that the movie will turn out successful,' said hero Rajiv Kanakala. Other important cast includes MS Narayana, Nalini, Suhasini, Vinodkumar and Nilalgal Ravi.
