Sankranthi season is going to get more and more heated up as the two big films have announced their tentative dates for the season right from the first day of shooting. BalaKrishna and Chiranjeevi have been tough competitors when it comes to releasing a movie for Sankranthi season. At times both have failed but mostly both have given big hits too. Last time they both released their movies for Sankranthi, Mrugaraju and Narasimha Naidu. Even Venky’s Devi putrudu released for the season but Narasimha Naidu worked like a magic. After 16 years, now both the heroes have plans to release their prestigious films 150th and 100th for Sankranthi season of 2017. Khaidi No.150 just confirmed with a press note that 70% of the shoot is done and movie will release for Sankranthi. Now Balayya’s Gautami Putra Satakarni team is also not backing out and they have big plans for Dussehra season. On 9th October, Royal First look of Balakrishna as Satakarni will be released and on 11th October, a teaser trailer of the film will be released. The director of the movie has been repeatedly saying that the film is designed to be a Sankranthi film and will release for the season without fail. He even made it evident that by changing the music director Devi Sri Prasad who was busy with many projects and rival film, Khaidi No. 150 to complete the project in time. Chirantan Bhatt who is not busy and already worked on Kanche with Krrish is doing the music of the film. The film shooting is going on in set constructed for Rajamahal of GSPK with Shriya, Hema Malini and young actor playing the son of Gautami Putra Satakarni.
Purampokku, already registered
It is known to viewers that, UTV Motion Pictures have recently announced their next production venture with the title ‘Purampokku’ starring Arya and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Even before the movie hit the floors, cinematographer cum ad filmmaker and actor Natraj Subramaniam alleged that he has registered Purampokku title first. While National award winning SP Jhananathan is gearing up to direct and also co-produce Purampokku with tagline ‘No Man’s Land’. Natraj says he has registered Porampokku under Natraj Cine Arts banner with himself in the lead. “I’ve registered title Porampokku long ago and is still under valid period. I’ll take legal action, as not willing to offer my title.” However, there is no official information about title change from UTV. Viewers have to wait a little to know if Purampokku title remains unchanged for Arya’s film or Natraj’s.
Purampokku Release Date Confirmed
Upcoming Tamil multi-starrer film - Purampokku is all set for the worldwide release on 1st May. Makers have officially announced the film's release with Purampokku release date posters. Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Shaam and Karthika Nair starred Purampokku is one of the most anticipated Tamil films that was written and directed by SP Jhananathan. Purampokku enjoys music composed by Varshan, while NK Ekambaram handled cinematography and VT Vijayan has edited the movie. Produced and distributed by Siddharth Roy Kapoor on UTV motion Pictures, and director SP Jhananathan is jointly producing Purampokku on his Binary Pictures banners. Purampokku slated for May 1st release.
Petra, Jordan: Huge monument found 'hiding in plain sight'
A huge monument has been discovered buried under the sands at the Petra World Heritage site in southern Jordan. Archaeologists used satellite images, drone photography and ground surveys to locate the find, according to the study published in the American Schools of Oriental Research. The large platform is about as long as an Olympic swimming pool and twice as wide. Researchers say it is unlike any other structure at the ancient site. The study, by Sarah Parcak of the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and Christopher Tuttle, executive director of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers, describes the find as "hiding in plain sight". Petra dates back to the fourth century BC, when it was founded by the Nabataean civilization, who inhabited parts of what is now Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Surface pottery suggests the platform was built in the mid-second century BC, when Petra was at its peak. It is thought the structure may have had a ceremonial purpose.
Purab Kohli excited to work with Nikhil Advani
Purab Kohli says he is proud of doing an untitled show by Nikhil Advani and is excited to work with the 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' director. Purab will be seen as one of the lead actors in the untitled show, which is an official adaptation of Israeli TV series 'Hatufim' (Homeland) in India. Purab said in a statement: "This is by far the biggest project I have been part of, at least in terms of its production scale. The show is definitely an exciting opportunity for anyone associated with it and what makes it even more worthwhile is that Nikhil is directing the show, making it all the more a reason to be proud of doing this project." Purab is also awaiting the release of "Rock On 2".
