They will start shooting in Maldives in September 2008. Percept Picture Company is all set to start work on the first of the three-film deal they have recently signed with Emraan Hashmi. The film, to be directed by Shamim Desai, has been tentatively titled 'Raftaar' and co-stars Aditya Pancholi, Esha Deol and Neha Dhupia. Shailendra Singh, Jt MD, Percept Ltd, says, 'Raftaar is a film worth Rs 25 crore and belongs to a totally different genre from PPC's earlier films. Raftaar is a fast paced film based on the media and Emraan of course is the lead actor. In Maldives, we will take care of the look of the film and it's a great chance for everyone to get to know each other before we actually start shooting.' 'It sure is an expensive process, but I prefer having an idea and visualize what's in store for us when we actually shoot in September,' says Mr Singh. Percept Picture Company (PPC) is all set to start a new trend in filmmaking. They will be taking the entire crew, barring the leading ladies, of his upcoming film to Maldives for a trial shoot. Another reason for this week-long trip is to get the cast and the crew familiar with each other. This trial shoot will help PPC to know if everything will fall in place when they actually start shooting the film in Maldives in September. This trip will cost PPC Rs 1.5 crore. Talking about Percept Picture Company, Emraan Hashmi says, 'Shamim Desai is one of the most respected names in the advertising industry and I am glad that he is bringing in such an innovative idea to filmmaking. PPC is one of the most prolific production houses and since Shamim's ideas are in sync with PPC, I am looking forward to the trip.'
'Singh is Bliing': Akshay Kumar introduces Raftaar Singh
After winning hearts with his role of Happy in the 2008 action comedy film “Singh Is Kinng”, action star Akshay Kumar has introduced his character in its sequel titled “Singh is Bliing”. The actor will play Raftaar Singh in the Prabhudheva directorial. Akshay took to micro-blogging site Twitter on Saturday to introduce Raftaar while sharing a 15-second teaser in which he is seen jumping in a circular motion with joy. “Meet SINGH Raftaar SINGH! Can't stop won't stop! #MeetRaftaarSINGH @SIBTheFilm,” Akshay wrote along with the video. Interestingly, Raftaar was the name of the character played by actor Sudhanshu Pandey in Anees Bazmee's “Singh Is Kinng”. The news has been trending on Twitter with the hashtag #MeetRaftaarSINGH. “Singh is Bliing”, which also stars Amy Jackson, Lara Dutta and Kay Kay Menon, is slated to release on October 2.
