Raghuvaran passes away

Raghuvaran, a distinguished character artiste, passed away in Chennai this morning (March 19). He was admitted to Mehtha Hospital for treatment a few days ago. The reason for the death has been disclosed as weakness caused by excessive alcohol consumption. It is learnt that he had been under intensive medical care for the past few weeks. Raghuvaran, born in December 11,1948, has acted in several Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi films. Most of his roles were of a villain or a supporting actor. He has also acted as a hero in a few movies. He made his entry into Tollywood through 'Pasivadi Pranam' in 1987. Though he has acted in several films, he shot to fame with his role as the protagonist of a Tamil soap opera, 'Oru Manidhanin Kadhai' (One Man's Story), about the agony of a well-to-do man who becomes an alcoholic. Unfortunately, the drug addiction cast its shade in his real life too. His wife Rohini too divorced him due to his addiction. They have a son Rishi. Though Raghuvaran tried to rid his habit and tried to lead life on normal terms, the addiction did not leave him alone. 'Shiva', 'Anjali' and 'Suswagatham' are some of the films in which he had rendered outstanding performances. He had reduced the number of films in recent years. musicmazaa expresses its deepest condolences on the death of this versatile actor.

Raghuvaran begins a new innings

After a long gap, the sought-after-villain of 90s Raghuvaran is back. Raghuvaran plays the baddie in Sivappathigaram which would be directed by Parthiban Kanavu fame Karu Palaniappan. Raghuvaran, who essayed the role of villain in several movies, disappeared from the screen a couple of years. Having divorced from his wife Rohini, the actor reportedly immersed himself in spirituality. Karu Palaniappan insisted that Raghuvaran should play the bad guy in his movie and narrated the script. Apparently impressed, he accepted to be part of the movie. At the muhurat of the movie held in Chennai on Wednesday, a trim-looking Raghuvaran was present exchanging pleasantries with the guest. Sivappathigaram being produced by Radha Mohan features Vishal and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles.

Raghuvaran - Bouncing back in style

After a long gap, Raghuvaran managed to make a come back in Kollywood with Sivapathigaram. Thankfully, the actor has managed to make a strong entry and is now busy acting in nearly half-a-dozen films including Bheema along with Vikram. Raghuvaran, the sought-after baddie and character artiste in Tamil film industry, was plagued by personal problems including a divorce from his wife, actress Rohini, and he took a break from cinema. He staged a comeback with director Karu Palaniappan's Sivapathigaram, the shooting for which is currently on. Even before the movie could release, he is back in hunt and has been assigned to act in nearly half-a-dozen movies including Bheema along with Vikram and Prakash Raj. Raghuvaran - Candid confessions

Raghuvaran is a kind of maverick in the industry. He is kind of unpredictable. The lanky, talented actor has of course seen many upheavals in his personal life that it is impossible to be normal. The actor is just coming out of a bout of ill health. On a sabbatical, Raghuvaran is now slowly making a comeback. In Vijay's Sachin, he played a walk-in role. Now he has an important character in Vishal's Sivapathigaram. Considering his passionate style of acting one would have Raghuvaran to be very attached to his profession. But in a candid interview on television recently, Raghuvaran confessed that becoming an actor had been burden on him. 'Being a humble farmer would have been better,' he said. He didn't sound bitter. But he was certainly philosophical.

Raghuvaran gets a big chance

The latest buzz in Kollywood is about Raghuvaran. The lanky actor who is on a comeback mode may have lucked it out big. Indications are that he has got a role to play in Rajnikanth's Sivaji. And what role? Well, it is the same one that Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to play. Shankar tried to bring in Amitabh to play a role in the movie. But that seems to have not worked. So the Sivaji team is said to have put a call to Raghuvaran to step into the breach. But a clearer picture of the whole thing will emerge shortly. Raghuvaran after being in the wilderness for some time is now on a second innings of sorts. He is playing an important role in Sivapathigaram. And now the icing on the cake --- a role in Sivaji. His comeback is on a good footing.

Raghuvaran gets into new groove

Raghuvaran is one of the most dependable character artistes in South India. After lying low for some years, now Raghuvaran is back in circulation. Among others, he is acting in films like Sivaji and Bheema. He is particularly happy that he is acting with Rajini in Sivaji. 'Rajini is a symbol of control and discipline, and that is why he has reached the top,' says Raghuvaran admiringly. Raghuvaran is recuperating from some health problems and has now developed a philosophical outlook in life. But the restless spirit in him is impelling him to take up new and challenging things in life. He also nurtures the idea of authoring a book in which he plans to write about all that has happened in his life. Also, he is in the process of working on a music album. It is one in which he has scored the music and written the lyrics too. Sound interesting for sure.
