Raj Kapoor's familiarity in China Revealed

Minister of Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni had a surprise to hear that Raj Kapoor who is known popular in Soviet Union and today's Russia, also equally familiar with Chinese older generation. While she was attending an award function a senior citizen approached her and enquired about screening of Indian film stars or songs would be a part of the festival she answered in negative, the elderly person recounted with her by saying that he grown up listening to the songs of Raj Kapoor's film 'Awara'. The minister was surprised to hear such words since it is restricted to the knowledge that RK was familiar with Russia alone. Raj Kapoor through his films even penetrated beyond so far known boundaries, as it reveals by the event. But RK once told during the visit to USSR, "My popularity in Russia is a phenomenon I can't explain myself, except that my films Awara and Shree 420 came at an opportune moment, when the Russian people were changing themselves culturally. In these films they saw the spirit of the Indian youth in revolt and they loved him, as he became the symbol of their own sprit. This identity with the Indian youth that I portrayed drew us closer; our friendship has been a long-standing one. Even today I get a warm welcome from them." This version seems to be applicable to all regimes where ever there is a change and transformation happens as China also experienced such moments in the post-Mao lead revolution.

Anand Raj Anand: Remixing is a violation of intellectual property rights

'It's not fair when after doing everything, someone else take the credit for doing very little. I've remixed my own songs in my upcoming film Aryan,' says music composer Anand Raj Anand who is joining the ever-growing list of disgruntled composers who are unhappy with the mauling that their 'originals' receive at the hands of shake-a-bum-DJs. With the menace of piracy, clawing at the revenue share, the music companies want the DJs as it adds value to the music album as a product. In a way it also serves as an incentive to the customer for getting more than what he asks for. Moreover, the number of songs is getting lesser in a film, so a remix of each song makes more numbers in an album. The DJs are laughing all the way to the bank as they end up having loads of shows and bulk projects 'I personally don't agree with the ethics involved in what the DJs are doing these days. It's a violation of intellectual property rights. The situation is similar to the fact that someone makes a painting and someone else adds a small dash of color at the end of it and calls the painting as his own. All I can say is'.It happens only in India,' Anand Raj Anand reiterates. Initial reaction of Anand Raj Anand might have been an honest outburst, but during the course of the conversation, his words cloaked a more diplomatic stance. 'It's not as if I am against someone remixing my songs for ultimately it has to be an understanding between the music composer, the music company and the DJ who has to remix. Everyone has to be taken into confidence,' he says sheepishly. The reason for this change-of-heart is the aggressive bent-of-mind followed by the music companies as they are not willing to pander to anyone's whims and fancies. Nobody is indispensable, they feel. And Anand Raj Anand is no Himesh Reshamiya to get away with anything. But the tussle for creative supremacy shall surely get into a bloody conflict sooner or later. Till that time, could you please pump up the volume on DJ Akbar Sami's Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai.

Tusshar plays the character of Raj who is a much focused student and wants to achieve something in life. Emraan's character in the film is called Raju. Raju is a very cool laid back guy who is flirtatious, hip and trendy. He is also a lively and cheerful person to be with. Tanushree's character is called Dinky, someone whom she feels she can portray very naturally as she herself was very tomboyish and also good at studies. The film Good Boy Bad Boy seems to be a very lively flick based on the life of college students. Interestingly, the pairing done in the film is also very unique. Sarkar Raj retouched?

It was all decided that Sarkar Raj will see light come May. But if the reports doing the rounds in Bollywood circles are to be believed then the film's release is likely to be postponed yet again. It is reported that this time the film is being delayed because Big B wants a few scenes in the film to be retouched. The film was delayed till May because the Bachchans wanted 'Jodhaa Akbar' to be their bahu's first release after marriage and this time Bachchan senior wants to retouch a few scenes involving him and his son. It is said that Amitabh wants to be very careful this time around because this is the first film for Abhishek after his marriage. We are not very sure what the director RGV has taken of this idea of redoing. It is said that he is quite happy with how the film has shaped up and does not want to implement anymore changes in the film. It is said that Big B has even given some of his dates in February to the director. With the Bachchan senior having one plan and the director of the film having another we are unaware as to how long this project will stall. Sarkar Raj is a sequel of the earlier released 'Sarkar' which will see Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. Now this film seems like one family affair doesn't it?
