Sakthi Chidambaram is producing and directing a film titled 'Rajathi Raja' and dance director, actor Lawrence plays the hero. An interesting feature of this film is that Lawrence would be surrounded in the cool company of six top heroines. But then there are also six villains in the film. Sakthi Chidambaram is a very successful director who had rendered many a hit like 'Ennamma Kannu', 'Charlie Chaplin', 'Mahanadigan' and 'Englishkaaran'. He has produced 'Kovai Brothers', 'Palani' and 'Sandai'. A big name to reckon with in the Tamil film industry, Sakthi Chidambaram is known for a comic style of narrating stories. Lawrence, a natural in comedy sequences might have hit the right chord in teaming up with Sakthi Chidambaram. 'Rajathi Raja' has Deena as the music director and director Perarasu has penned lyrics for all the songs. Says Sakthi Chidamraram, 'it is a story about games people play in order to be successful. But then, our hero is a 'jack of all trades' and has his own style of dealing with tricky situations. The film will be an out and out comedy'. Shooting for the film has been planned in many places including, Udumalai, Pollachi, Karaikudi, Munnar, Hong Kong, Indonesia and many more. This movie might just go on to appease the 'humor hungry' Tamilnadu public. The film also has Karunaas in a major role. Titles from superstar Rajinikanth's filmography seem to be hot property amongst filmmakers today. 'Rajathi Raja' was a huge hit in the 80s starring the superstar. Dhanush, son-in-law of the superstar probably has in mind to have a similar filmography as that of his illustrious father-in-law. He has already 'taken' two titles'.'Polladhavan' and 'Padikathavan' and may very well 'borrow' many more.
Kajal Agarwal in 'Rajadhi Raja'
Confusion still reigns over the casting of the movie 'Rajadhi Raja' starring Ragava Larencce which is produced and directed by Sakthi Chidambaram. The movie that boasts of six heroines was touted to have Sandhya as one of the heroines. She had reportedly declined the offer and Pooja was approached. Rumors were abuzz a little while back that Pooja has confirmed being part of the project. However, now it is confirmed that she has been replaced by young Kajal Agarwal. The girl from Mumbai, who made her debut with Bharathirajaa's 'Bomallattam', is currently acting in 'Modhi Vilayadu' opposite Vinay. She is also acting in a couple of films in Tollywood. Making a film with six heroines seems to be a tough task especially with all the heroines competing with each other. It is humanly impossible to have all six characters share equal screen presence. Probably, the 'crowd factor' is playing in the minds of the leading ladies and hence the constant replacements. However, the truth is that even with a small role, a good actress can make her way into the hearts and minds of film loving public.
Two to tango for 'Rajadhi Raja'
Ragava Lawrncce and Sakthi Chidambaram would come together for a movie soon. According to sources, the title of the film would be Rajadhi Raja. It is said that Sakthi Chidambaram has acquired the rights for the title from Pavalar Creations, the production firm of maestro Ilayaraja which had produced the movie 'Rajadhi Raja' starring rajnikanth a few years ago. However, it is said that the story would be totally different. When asked Sakthi Chidambaram, he confirmed the news and said that a search is on for two heroines.
Sakthi Chidambaram clarifies on 'Rajadhi Raja'
Certain reports surfaced recently claiming that one of the five heroines in Sakthi Chidambaram's 'Rajadhi Raja' is given more importance than the others. 'Rajathi Raja' stars Ragava Larencce along with five heroines - Meenakshi, Snighta, Mumtaz, Samiksha and Kiran. The rumors claim that Snightha has been given more priority in the film all of a sudden. When queried, the director denied any such reports. All heroines have equal parts to play. They have enough scope for good screen space. Each character has a role to play in the film. There is no question of one getting more priority over the others. The director also added, 'it would be a cocktail of glamour, humor and emotions. The shooting has already commenced and plans are on to shoot song sequences abroad'.
Karthi and Vishal in Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja directed by Prabhu Deva
Karthi and Vishal, the twin pillars of the Nadigar Sangam are uniting on screen for the first time for a film titled ‘Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja’ directed by none other than Prabhu Deva fondly known as Master in the industry. ‘Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja’ is produced by popular actor turned educationist Iyswari Ganesh who also co-produced the recent hit ‘Devi’. The film will go on floors early next year once Karthi and Vishal complete their current assignments. Prabhu Deva is one of the highest paid directors in Bollywood and his last Tamil film was ‘Vedi’ also starring Vishal released five years ago. More details about this exciting project will be out sooner than later.
Director Subash is the script writer of Vishal-Karthi's Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja
Kollywood had to witness an unfortunate incident yesterday in the form of the death of Director/Producer Subash, the man behind films like Chathriyan, Pavithra, Ezhaiyin Sirippil, 123 and more films. Vishal, while mourning the death of Subash, had posted in his Twitter account, "Dir #KSubash passed away.1st person who said I cn bcome an actor.cn neva 4get u. .proud to do ur last script wit Karthi." Going by his tweet, it is evident that Subash has penned the script of Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja, which will be directed by Prabhu Deva, starring Vishal and Karthi in lead roles. Kollywood will indeed miss the presence of a talented screenwriter and director.
