Rajeev Menon, who was basically an ad film maker, is one of the senior ace cinematographers in Indian Cinema. He has also directed the films 'Minsara Kanavu' and 'Kandukondaen Kandukondaen'. Recent buzzes say that he would soon start a Hindi film with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. Sources reveal that the movie is a remake of 'Abhimaan', a yesteryear superhit of Amitabh Bachchan. It is said that Rajeev Menon has also asked Amitabh to do a guest role in the film, besides Jaya Bachchan.
Rajeev Menon's plans
After a long gap, cinematographer-director Rajeev Menon will wield the megaphone again. He would be directing a Hindi movie later this year featuring Amitabh bachchan in the lead role. Addressing press persons to announce the launch of his Mindscreen Film Institute where training in photography would be imparted, Rajeev Menon said the syllabus in film institute is outdated. Hence he has taken the lead in teaching aspiring cinematographers the latest in the business. The surprise guest at the event was director Manirathinam. Rajeev, after Mumbai is cranking the camera for Manirathinam's Guru. At the Mindscreen Film Institute every year 10 students would be enrolled and would be exposed the latest technologies in photography and would be part of Rajeev's team and work in his personal guidance besides attending special workshops.
Rajeev is back to business
Acclaimed cinematographer Rajeev Menon is back to wield the megaphone now. The ace cinematographer, whose work in Mani Ratnam's Guru won his accolades, is planning to direct a movie in Hindi. Search for star cast is on. According to Rajeev Menon, 'It would be a treat for youngsters. I am planning to come out with a youthful entertainer. Hunt for suitable artistes are on. Only they are finalized, the shooting would commence'. Rajeev Menon had earlier directed movies including Kandukondein Kandukondein and Minsara Kanavu. He is one of the very few film personalities, who was invited to take part in the grand wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan last month.

Rajeev Ravi's next is a Dulquer starrer
Ace director Rajeev Ravi, who has stellar movies like 'Annayum Rasoolum' and 'Njan Steve Lopez' to his credit, is ready to with his next movie. This movie will have young heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The finer details regarding the movie has not been revealed. Dulquer is currently shooting for Martin Prakat's 'Charlie'. He will join Rajeev Ravi's movie as soon as he finishes 'Charlie'. After the Rajeev Ravi movie, Dulquer will do the Samir Thahir movie. The young star has a slew of movies lined up after that too. Mani Ratnam's next is among them.
Rajeev Menon ropes in Sai Pallavi
Sai Pallavi, the Premam (Malayalam) sensation, is on a roll. The actress is fast gaining a pan-South popularity, thanks to legends like Mani Ratnam and aesthetic filmmakers like Shekar Kammula and now Rajeev Menon wanting to rope her in. Only yesterday, we reported that Kammula is considering to cast her opposite Varun Tej. Today, it's the turn of Rajeev Menon of Minsara Kanavu (Merupu Kalau) and Kandukondein Kandukondein (Priyuraalu Pilichindi) fame. Rajeev has a film lined up with GV Prakash Kumar as the male lead. He is wielding the megaphone after a long gap of 16 years. This film will have the musical score of the Mozart of Madras AR Rahman, who gave chartbuster tunes for the director's previous two films. Sai Pallavi cannot ask for more. It's a double bonanza for Pallavi as she is getting to work with a seasoned cinematographer like Rajeev, who has cranked the camera for films like Bombay, Guru, Kadal, Chaitanya and Morning Raaga.
