The girl who created waves among the adolescents of South India is celebrating her birthday today. Introduced in the film 'Ullathai Allithaa' by director Sundar C. to the Tamil film world, she became a star overnight playing a youthful girl in love. It was a slapstick comedy that also featured Karthik, Goundamani and Manivannan. She maintained the dream girl status for well over a decade often playing a love sick and demure girl. Ramba hails from Vijayawada and was first introduced in a Telugu film named Aa Okkati Adakku in 1993. She stormed into the Tamil, Malayalm and Hindi film industries as well and was quick to be identified as the girl-next-door. She has an impressive list of co-stars in the form of Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty and Govinda. She also worked with Kamal Haasan in a comedy flick. Ramba turned producer briefly with the film Three Roses in Tamil starring Jyothika, Laila and herself. The film was inspired by the hollywood flick Charlies Angels. Her performance in the 2007 film in Malayalam titled Paayum Puli was greatly appreciated and won her rave reviews. Right now, word has it that she is concentrating in Bhojpuri films. musicmazaa wishes Ramba a very happy birthday!
Ramya re-emerges
Srikanth is going to act in Mrs Srikanth under the direction of Poori Jagannadh. That is old news. The expectation was who will be Mrs Srikanth in Mrs Srikanth. We maybe closer to the answer now. An industry insider bites the ear with the news that it will be Ramya Krishnan. Originally, Malika Sherawath was said to be contemplated for the role. Now Ramya is the front-runner for the role.
Ramya Krishna Vamsi still in focus
Ramya Krishna may have put on weight and may look rotund. But her charm and poise is still intact. The one-time voluptuous actress is now happily married (to director Krishna Vamsi) and is a mother of a kid. She is picking and choosing her roles in films. But Ramya is also busy on the TV. She is hosting a popular TV show for the Sun Network. Hitherto she was hosting a Tamil game show. But apparently her handling has impressed the show's producers that Ramya has been now roped in to host the Telugu version of it. Hitherto, Radhika was handling it. Now she has moved out to make way for Ramya. Incidentally, Radhika is also the producer of the show.
Rambha in 'Desa Muduru'
Rambha is doing an item number for 'Desa Muduru' directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Bhagawan and Danayya under the banner 'Universal Media' with Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Hansika Muthwal in the lead. It is reliably learnt that the shooting of this item song would be held at a specially erected set in Ramanaidu Cine Village at Nanakramguda in Hyderabad. The audio of the film will hit the market on December 24. Chakri has provided melodious tunes for this flick. The film would be released on January 12 as Sankranthi gift.
Rambha to play the lead girl again
Naa chore in Yamadonga is still top of the charts. She matched steps with NTR and looked every bit attractive and sexy as she was when she did her numbers with Chiranjeevi. After doing many small budget films and producing some, Rambha was seen in Hindi films. That didn't work out too well, though she did manage to do a couple of films with none other than Chi Chi baba. Now, she should be a happy girl as she will soon be in a full-length role of a protagonist in Donga Sachinollu. The film is said to be a comedy and has Krishna Bhagwan (presently shooting for John Appa Rao) and Raghu Babu in the lead. It is being directed by Raja Vannam Reddy.
Ramya, Anushka wear the right look
It is good to see that the industry is becoming very fashion conscious these days. There was a time when the heroines appeared in not-so-appealing attires at public functions. Now, most of them have personal designers and take special care to follow the popular trends before being seen at a party or function. So it was nice to see Ramyakrishna and Anushka at the 'Okka Magadu' audio release function. Anushka wore a deep night blue kali churidar with gold shimmer, more popular as the Saawariya dress these days. Then there was Ramyakrishna who wore an Indo-Western dress with black tights, black top and dupatta, with silver work.
