'Sandalwood Queen' is all set to contest the first major election in her life time. The actress would be contesting the Loksabha byelections from the Mandya constituency from Congress Party.Ramya had earlier said that she is an aspirant and would be fighting the next year's Loksabha elections if given a chance. There were rumours that Ramya would be either contesting from Bangalore Central or Kanakapura constituency. However, Ramya had left everything to the party High Command itself. Now the High Command of the Congress party has decided to give Ramya and opportunity to fight the by elections which is scheduled for August last week. It is being said that Ramya has asked the High Command, that she must be given a ticket to fight the elections in the general Lokasabha elections scheduled next year also. The High Command has also given its consent and before that Ramya would be contesting the elections soon. The election was a result of sitting JDS MP N Cheluvarayaswamy resigning after winning the Nagamangala seat in the Assembly election. The tenure of the new MP will be only till May 2014, when the general elections to the Parliament will be held.
Ramya Wins - What Next?
Ramya winning the Mandya bye-elections with a good lead is old news. Now the question on everybody's lips is what would be Ramya's decision when it comes to Kannada film industry. As of now, Ramya has four unfinished films in hand. Kodi Ramakrishna's untitled bilingual with Diganth, D Rajendra Babu's 'Aryan' Shivarajkumar, Vijayaprasad's 'Neer Dose' with Jaggesh and Somanath Patil's 'Dil Ka Raja' with Prajwal Devaraj. All the four films are worth more than 18 crores. If Ramya concentrates on politics more than films, then what would be the fate of all the four films is the question left unanswered. All the questions are under production and except for Kodi Ramakrishna's untitled venture which is almost except for a patch work, all the other films are half complete. So, all eyes are on what Ramya would do. As of now Ramya's attention and concentration is fully on politics. Apart from working towards the needs of the people, she also has to concentrate of the forthcoming MP elections which is scheduled for next years. So, how will Ramya manage the responsibility of completing the pending films apart from managing her political career is to be seen in the coming days.
Ramya is Puneeth's Heroine in Dodmane Huduga
The rumours have turned out to be true and Ramya has been selected as the heroine opposite Puneeth Rajkumar in his next film 'Dodmane Huduga' to be directed by Soori. Soori himself has confirmed that Ramya will be acting opposite Puneeth in the film. This is the fourth film that Puneeth and Ramya will be acting together. In fact, Ramya made her debut opposite Puneeth almost a decade ago with 'Abhi'. After that the duo acted together in 'Akash' and 'Arasu'. After 'Arasu' Puneeth and Ramya did not act in any film and now they are back with 'Dodmane Huduga'. Puneeth is currently busy in 'Ranavikrama'. 'Dodmane Huduga' is scheduled to start after the completion of 'Dheera Ranavikrama'.
Ramya to Act if She Get Good Roles and Films
Actress Ramya who was nowhere to be seen in Sandalwood for the last one year has said that she is ready to act if she get good roles and films. Ramya was talking to few media persons during her visit to former Chief Minister S M Krishna's residence on Saturday. Asked whether she is still interested in acting in Kannada films, 'I was not in India for the last one year and I was not approached by anyone during this period. However, if I get meaningful roles and films I may act' said Ramya. However, Ramya did not specify whether she will complete 'Neerdose' and 'Dil Ka Raja' which she has left midway.
Ramyakrishna Confirmed For Ravichandran
Actor-director Sudeep has confirmed that Ramya Krishna has been roped for the role of Ravichandran's wife in the forthcoming film, which is a remake of Telugu hit 'Mirchi'. Earlier, producer M N Kumar had said that the team is keen to cast Juhi Chawla for the role of the heroine opposite Ravichandran. Ravichandran and Juhi Chawla was a great pair in the late 80s and early 90s and was the most wanted pair. However, Juhi refused the offer as she had to play the role of Sudeep's mother along with being Ravichandran's wife in the film. As chitraloka reported after Juhi's refusal, other actresses like Ramya Krishna, Simran and others were contacted for the role. However, now Sudeep has said that Ramya Krishna has given her acceptance and will be a part of the film.
Ramya re-emerges
Srikanth is going to act in Mrs Srikanth under the direction of Poori Jagannadh. That is old news. The expectation was who will be Mrs Srikanth in Mrs Srikanth. We maybe closer to the answer now. An industry insider bites the ear with the news that it will be Ramya Krishnan. Originally, Malika Sherawath was said to be contemplated for the role. Now Ramya is the front-runner for the role.
