Rana, the grandson of Dr D Ramanaidu and son of Suresh Babu says he is looking forward to his stint as an actor. He says he has been attending a lot of story sittings and is looking for the right script to make his debut as an actor. Meanwhile, he says he dreams about making a comic animation film in four to five years. He says his knowledge of the gaming technology would be helpful in making such films under the Suresh Productions banner, says he.
'Rana' first copy is ready
The first copy of 'Rana' that came in the combination of director Bharati Raja and hero Arjun with Kajal in the female lead was ready. The film was simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil languages. Producer K Lakshminarayana Reddy, who had brought out the film on the banner of Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Pictures says, 'Earlier, we gave the title of 'Kalidasu' for our movie. But we were forced to change the title to 'Rana' due to some unavoidable circumstances. We shot the film in Malaysia, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai and other such places. The music scored by Himesh Reshmiya would remain a highlight of the movie. Ghantasala Ratnakumar scripted the dialogues for the Telugu version, while lyrics were penned by Bhuvanachandra, Vennelakanti and Sahiti. The character played by Nana Patekar would be novel and different. We are making efforts to release the film in June.' Rukmini, Manivanna, Vivek, Ranjitha and others are in the cast. Camera is by Kannan, while story, screenplay and direction are by Bharati Raja.
'Rana' slated for release by June-end
The Arjun-Kajal starrer 'Rana' directed by Bharatiraja and produced by K Lakshminarayana Reddy on the banner of Sri Lakshmi Srinivasa Pictures is getting ready for release on June 27. Another noted producer C Kalyan, speaking on behalf of the producers says, 'The film would be a suspense thriller on the lines of 'Yerra Gulabeelu and Tik Tik Tik' that hit the Telugu screen few years ago. We are sure that this film would also get a similar response. Music by Himesh Reshmiya would remain an asset for the film and already the audio has become very popular. The film would not only earn a good name to Bharatiraja but also to Kaajal.' Producer Lakshminarayana Reddy says, 'The film that is coming in the backdrop of suspense, has Nana Patekar in a special role.'
Rana ready to do a mythological Movie
No joke this! Rana Daggubati, who has just debuted as a jean-clad leader-politician in Leader, likes to do a mythological, if a chance comes his way. So, an actor in his 20s, saying this is quite amusing, but the thing is that Rana belongs to a different stock. A youngster, who belongs to a family that has considered cinema an integral part of its system, Rana has proved that he is not quite interested to run around the bushes alone. The Daggubati scion has bagged a film with Rohan Sippy, and the Bollywood flick has Abhishek Bacchan as the first lead. A film based on the drug life in Goa, the Hindi film is the next big thing on Rana's list. Actively engaged in promoting his Leader with a vengeance, the actor has reportedly confessed to being heavily influenced by the Shekar-Kammula film, so much so it is strongly sitting in his mind. And more, Rana wants to direct in future. Hope, he will be as different!
Rana’s next film with Selva Raghavan
Daggubati Rana who has debuted with Sekhar Kammula’s Leader made an impressive mark with his looks and performance among the Telugu audiences. The latest news is that Rana has signed up another film under the direction of Selva Ragahvan. The movie would be a bilingual film. The movie will be produced by Suresh Productions and G.V.Prakash will score the music for the film. Selva Raghavan has earlier directed successful films like ‘7/G Brindavan colony’, ‘AMAV’ and ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’. Rana is currently busy with a Hindi film titled ‘Dum Maro Dum’ which has Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role. More details of Rana, Selva Raghvan’s project are awaited.
Rana signs an International English film
Rana Daggubati is currently looking forward for his two releases Nenu Naa Rakashasi and his debut Bollywood film Dum Maro Dum, which are slated for release in the month of April. Meanwhile, the tall and handsome hunk has signed up an International English film. Rana says, “It's an English film. I shot the promo for Aditya Bhattacharya's ("Rakh" fame) film. The process is quite different from here as first the promos are made and then they go to the studios. By this year end or early next year I might start shooting the film." Rana says he is currently busy in finalizing the scripts of a couple of Tamil-Telugu bilingual films. Well, Glue to this space for more details.
