'D' actor Randeep Hooda impressed one and all when he took the 'Risk' with some gravity-defying pace on his Army-bred horse at an Arena Polo match at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, this week. Organised by the Amateur Riders Club , the match was played at night under flood lights at the centre of the race track, creating history for being the first of its kind in Mumbai. Showing off his evolving skills with horses, Randeep rode with zest and confidence, vigourously competing with the other players Mitesh Mehta, Shyam Mehta, A.P.Singh, Brian Alexander , Rahul Dwarkadas, Nassir Jamal, Shariff Furniturewala, Shujoy Shetty, Charles Shepard, Rohan, Ajay Savala and Zahan Kapoor with the hour-long match finally ending in a tie. Ketan Mehta , the director of the actor's forthcoming film 'Rang Rasiya' specially dropped in along with wife Deepa Sahi to cheer Randeep. "I don't know much about Polo, but I could see Randeep rocked at the match," the director quipped, as the crowd in the gallery broke for exotic cocktails served on the sprawling race course lawns, braving the chilly weather. It can be mentioned here that the Hooda boy has been a riding enthusiast since quite some time and even owns four elegant-looking rough-and-tough horses. "While acting is Randeep's profession, horses have become his biggest passion," commented the actor's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar. "But that's not to demean any lady on this or the other side of the earth," he quickly added.
Randeep acquires a commando jeep
If you thought Randeep Hooda's passion was limited to lovely ladies and elegant horses, think again. The actor has a new love in his life... cars. The 'D' star who drove a sleek Toyota Crown Magesta 8-cylinder car a few months ago, now owns a customized Mahendra commando jeep. He believes it's better to modify an Indian car than to keep falling for foreign brands. "Our cars are one of the toughest in the world," says Randeep, and adds, "Don't forget that we Indians are the backbone of many a foreign company and have never lacked behind in any field." Randeep, we are proud of your 'Be Indian, Buy Indian' mantra. Keep up the spirit.
Randeep-Priyanka 'konnection'
There is this reddish-brown side of Hooda boy, seomthing which would also be seen in case of Priyanka Chopra in LOVE STORY 2050! Randeep Hooda first acquired a rough 'n tough look for 'D' when he played a role on the lines of gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Then, for his character as a Police Inspector (based on encounter specialist Daya Nayak's life) in 'Risk', Randeep donned a polished suave look. But in his forthcoming film 'Love Khichdi', Randeep plays a testosterone driven chef; a dude confused about love and out to experiment with (or rather discover) a variety of ladies. Taking his role and character rather seriously, Randeep has gone ahead and coloured his hair reddish-brown throughout the film. Now, his fans can check out the colourful side of the Hooda boy.
Randeep's birth date woes
Randeep Hooda is very amused that a simple error on the internet could affect him so much. A few days back, he was having a tough time explaining to various callers wishing him a happy birthday that it is not on August 19, but August 20. Since the popular Wikipedia website has incorrectly mentioned it as the 19th, the date has spread. The actor's publicist Dale Bhagwagar said, "I've just written to Wikipedia and all the other sites and papers who have picked it up from there and carried the incorrect date, requesting them to make the change. But I guess it's too late for this year. Randeep's phone hasn't stopped ringing with people wishing him a day in advance". Luckily for the actor, his close friends knew the correct date, so he didn't miss the fun on the 20th.
Randeep to be incarnated soon?
Actor Randeep Hooda never got hurt doing stunts for his action films 'D' and 'Risk'. But while shooting for his forthcoming romantic film 'Ru-Ba-Ru', for a scene, where he had to save his love interest Shahana Goswami in typical filmi style, he skid and slipped and ended up with 15 stitches on his palm. Recently, his astrologer joked that due to the scar left by the long cut on his palm, now his lifeline is so extended that it seems he'll have a very very long life or be reincarnated soon. "Randeep had specially bought an attractive pair of Hugo Boss shoes for the shooting of 'Ru-Ba-Ru'. But since they were brand new, he slipped," reasoned his publicist Dale Bhagwagar. In the film, Randeep plays the ambitious owner of an ad agency out to conquer the world, while taking all the nitty-gritty's of life for granted' till one day, he realizes the true meaning of 'life'.
