RED HOT - Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna teaser

While the publicity of 'Fanaa' has failed to pick up inspite of just a day remaining for its release and talkie promos of 'Krrish' being eagerly awaited after all the songs'n'dances, the next biggie [which is perhaps the biggest release of the year] in line is 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' that arrives on August 11. Here we present a brief teaser of this keenly awaited film by Karan Johar: "KANK is a saga of designer infidelity by Karan Johar. And yes, the candy floss quotient is still high inspite of a 'different' genre adapted by the film maker. The film has Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee discover the AGONY and ECSTACY of an extra marital passion in the brightly lit, big city of New York." The film boasts of an impressive crew that ranges from music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, art director Sharmishta Roy and costume designer Manish Malhotra. With a starcast that also comprises of father-son pair of Amitabh Bachchan/Abhishek Bachchan along with Preity Zinta, KANK is undoubtedly year's most awaited film.

Red flag fluttering on top of Khandala

A film is becoming a big problem for the natives of Khandala as well as the tourists who are flocking to the holiday destination. The unit of the forthcoming film 'Red Alert-The war within' has literally gobbled up the whole of Khandala. Due to the film that is being shot in the beautiful hill station for the past 23 days, the tourists are left with no rooms in the hotels there as almost all the rooms is being used by the massive unit of 350 people who are working in the production process. The film has a storyline that has been inspired from the issue of Naxalism that has become a very difficult problem to come in terms with for the rulers of the nation. The film is based on the true story of Narasimha, a farm labourer who in his desperation to make money for his children's education comes face to face with the activities of the naxals, their propaganda and the ways they tries to achieve what they want. Rahul Aggarwal who is one of the producers of the film told that when the shooting started, the hotel owners were not willing to give the rooms because they did not want to give discounts due to the present holiday season. Then the film makers started to use the tricks of persuasion and pleading. They somehow made the hoteliers give them two rooms. After a day the unit went and asked for two more rooms for the fighters and the subsequent day they would ask again for two more rooms to accommodate the technicians who come for a short duration for a specific purpose. Slowly all the rooms were taken up by the film makers in this manner and this left the tourists high and dry unable to get any rooms in any major hotels. The unit of 350 people has been working round the clock to conclude the shoot in the designated time period. The film is directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadeva, and written by Aruna Raje. 'Red Alert' is produced under the banner of Star Entertainments Pvt. Ltd by T.P.Aggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal. Suniel Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Ayesha Dharker, Seema Biswas, Makrand Deshpande, Bhagyashree, Ashish Vidyarthi, Ehssan Khan, Suneel Sinha , Gulshan Grover, Nasseruddin Shah and Vinod Khanna are the actors enacting the important roles in the film. When the number of the unit members are considered the movie must be having a lot of challenging scenes to be canned and is sure to be having a large number of actors. Let's hope Anant Mahadevan's colossal work put behind this mammoth project will result in a much needed hit.

Red Alert’, ‘Border’ are films you need to do: Suniel Shetty

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty takes pride in doing issue-based movies like the recent “Red Alert: The War Within” and the 1997 hit “Border” as they allow him to give something back to society. “‘Border’ is a patriotic film and very rarely do you get a chance to pay back to the real heroes (Indian soldiers). That’s why ‘Red Alert’, ‘LOC’ and ‘Border’ are the films you need to do,” he said. Suniel revealed: “Dutta is planning something else and I am very excited about it.” Suniel, who played the lead role in director Anant Mahadevan’s “Red Alert: The War Within”, says Maoist violence is a bigger threat to India than the Al Qaeda or the Taliban. “Few people realise that this (Maoist violence) is India’s biggest problem today. I believe it is the biggest threat because basically it is your own family that’s upset with you. When there is a problem within a family, it gets very difficult to control because you don’t know who is who,” Suniel, who attended the Miss Canada-India beauty pageant here as chief guest, said at a press meet Saturday. “Right from Chhattisgarh to the interiors of Maharashtra, this (problem) exists…it is cutting the heart from the country. I thought it is a a subject which is very, very socially relevant. If I could bring a change to get the government to see the side of the Naxalites and make Naxals see a side which they probably are not aware of – the kind of destruction (they are causing)- I am happy I did it.” Calling “Red Alert” a milestone in his career, he said: “Nobody believes it (internal violence) is India’s biggest problem. Two years down the line, there will be random killings in the streets. It is happening in small towns. People in cities don’t realise because they are not being harmed. But there is a parallel force that is being formed. I am not happy about what the government is doing.” After doing a realistic film, Suniel is now shooting here for Aneez Bazmi’s “Thank You”, which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Akshay Kumar as lead pair. “It is a comedy. It talks about something to which most women won’t react very positively. It talks about men’s problem of hurting the ones they love most. It talks about relationship – how it should be and unfortunately how it is. It has Akshay, Sonam, Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan, Celina Jaitley and myself in the cast,” he said. Talking about Sonam, he said that she is the daughter of his “very good friend and a finest actor”. “Acting is in her genes… she is very, very elegant, very pretty looking… done very well for herself on her own, getting into production with her sister at a young age…” Asked whether he would act in southern movies, the actor, who is from Karnataka and has done guest appearances in Tamil and Malayalam films, said: “Yes, I want to. But if you don’t know the language, I believe you are weak as an actor.”

Sushma Reddy in "Chup Chup Ke"

Sushma Reddy is playing a special role in Priyadarshan's "Chup Chup Ke". She is not revealing anything about it other than just that it is a love triangle between Sushma-Shahid-Kareena. She is very happy to do this film because after Chocolate it is her second flick with such good stars. The movie has elements of black humor, chaos etc. Sushma acting is being liked by many directors and they are trying to sign her for their movies but she is right now in no rush to sign movies. She will talk about them only after she signs them.
