Director Sundar C is busy giving final touches to his Rendu which features Madhavan, Reema Sen and Anushka in lead roles. The movie produced by Kushboo for AVNI Cinemedia, is a full-fledged hilarious entertainer. Recently a song sequence was shot in Chennai on a huge set resembling Courtallam waterfalls. Art director Jana had erected the sets with 20 trucks loads of water for the song. The set put up at the Island Grounds in Chennai has grabbed the attention of people nearby. A soft romantic number featuring Madhavan and Anushka was shot in the artificial waterfalls. Many members of the public paid a visit to see the falls and water in it.
Rendu - Fun all the way
Sundar C's directorial venture Rendu featuring Madhavan and Reema Sen is nearing completion. The movie is all set for a release early next month. Being produced by Kushboo Sundar for Avni Cine Media, a major portion of the movie has been shot. The movie, which brings together Madhavan and Reema Sen after a successful outing in Minnalae, a few years ago, is reportedly a hilarious entertainer quite typical to Sundar C's films. The Sundar C - Vadivelu combo that has always worked out well will be to the fore in Rendu too, with Madhavan adding more pep to the proceedings. Says Sundar C, 'Almost all the scenes have come out well. Madhavan's natural skills in the company of Vadivelu will liven up proceedings in the movie. Both Reema Sen and Anushka have played their part well. No doubt it will be a hilarious movie for the audience'. Meanwhile Sundar C on completing Rendu will venture to act again. He would act as a police officer opposite Gopika in a movie titled Yazhpanam.
Rendu has the winning numbers
Rendu is all geared up to make it this week. The film was censored last week and is now ready to make it to the theatres this weekend. Though director Sundar C has kept the story a closely-guarded secret, sources say that humour and suspense will be mixed in a never-before way to make the film one of a kind in Tamil cinema. Madhavan's role is a well-concealed one. Sources say he may even be playing a double role. Further, Reema Sen and Anushka are there to provide all the glamour. The highlight, as ever in Sundar C's films, would be the portions involving Vadivelu. It will bring the house down, said one source. All things considered, Rendu may be number one hit of the season.
Rendu is Irandu
The Tamil film producers and directors are these days found with Tamil dictionary to choose Tamil titles for their films. The State Government's decision to provide tax-exemption to movies titled in Tamil has brought about a change in the industry. Adding to the list of movies opting for a title change is Sundar C's Rendu. Rendu is colloquial Tamil. Only a pure Tamil title will make a film eligible for tax concessions. So, three days after its release, Rendu has been re-named as Irandu. Basking on the movie's good opening, Sundar C says, 'The movie is doing well. People are appreciative of the comedy and we are hopeful of good collections.' Featuring Madhavan in a dual role, the movie has Reema Sen, Anushka, Vadivelu and Santhanam in the cast.
Abhay-Soha's Midnight Rendezvous
Soha Ali Khan and Abhay Deol made a cute pair in 'Ahista Ahista' which in spite of being a good film couldn't ignite fireworks at the Box Office. There were reports about their linkup but both sides kept on denying it. But what was Soha doing at the on location song shooting of Abhay's film 'Ek Chalees Ki Local' at Kamalistan Studio much beyond midnight. And no, she isn't part of the film. With a sizzler like Neha Dhupia being Abhay's co-star, maybe Soha didn't want to take any chances. Right! Apart from this juicy piece of news one must admit that shooting a film is not a joke. It was a song sequence 'Kismat Ka Khel' where Abhay Deol was grooving to a fantastic laidback number with delicious babes surrounding him tip-toeing with a coy smile. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya was calling the shots. First few lines of the song itself took a hell lot of time in getting rehearsed'.Canning it was a much more tedious task in itself. So, all you guys who think filmmaking is a joyride, you must get an opportunity to see the amount of hard work a crew puts in to get the desired effect. 'Ek Chalees Ki Last Local' is about Nilesh (Abhay) who makes big money in the span of 1.40 a.m. to 4.10 a.m. in one night. And the timing is symbolic of Mumbai fast local trains'The lifeline of the city without which the city just can't function. It seems to be a promising subject. It all depends upon the treatment. Wonder where Abhay and Soha headed for'.Once the shoot was over'.The railway station? Hah!
Vijay's Italian rendezvous
'Ilaya Thalapathy' Vijay is busy shooting for 'Villu'. The movie, directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Ayngaran Films International, kicked off in Karaikudi recently. A number of scenes featuring Vijay and Nayantara were shot in Karaikudi. And now the buzz is that the crew would shoot a major portion of the film in Italy. The script involves a foreign country in the second half and so the crew will be heading for Italy this July. Sources close to Prabhu Deva reveal that he has also planned to shoot two song sequences in exotic Italy. It sure would be interesting to see Vijay chasing and hunting down the baddies in this European country. Nayantara sizzled with her attitude and attractive modern costumes in 'Billa' and the movie was set in Malaysia. So, foreign destinations suit her big time and with Nayantara on song now, one can expect Prabhu Deva to exploit her talents. Vijay and Nayantara on the prowl in Italy'.sounds interesting.
