'Risk' is all set to hit the theatres this December. This thriller with the family backdrop stars Randeep Hooda as Suryakant, Vinod Khanna as Khalid and Tanushree Dutta as Shradha in the lead roles. It also stars Seema Biswas, Makrand Deshpandey and Yashpal Sharma is supporting roles. The movie Risk is a story of an honest and upright cop Suryakant, who is struggling through a dilemma. One risk can change his life. But he realizes his job is full of risks and doing his duty honestly is the toughest job. He is standing at the crossroad of a dilemma of serving his duty or be committed to his family or his love Shradha, as they pay a heavy price for his honesty. 'Risk' is the other side of the cop's life. It's the jeopardy his family faces for standing by him and his commitment to his uniform. His victory has a heavy price attached to it. This thriller with family backdrop is shot in various locations like Bangkok, Dubai, Austria and Mumbai. Randeep Hooda plays the righteous and courageous 'Khaki bearer'. Carving a strong, confident and gutsy police officer that stands by commitments to his uniform. Tanushree Dutta plays opposite Randeep, a dancer in the movie and Veteran actor Vinod Khanna plays the lion in the den, with a new, stylized avtar as a don. Director Vishram Sawant, speaking on Risk expressed, 'Its not the typical 'chor-police' play, but brings forward the serious aspect of a cops life - 'duty'. A strong willed, dedicated cop, whose priority is his duty and at any cost. This movie is the other side of the story, an honest cop standing of a crossroad of a dilemma to take a risk. His job itself is a tough risk and doing it honestly a tougher job. It's a movie with a very strong character and hard-hitting story, which conveys a message and not the motives.' He added, 'Risk salutes the courage of those honest officers who are strangled in this system and still doing their duty in true sense not for the name or fame. It's about dedication for your work & courage of doing something right.'
Risk promotion heats up at just the right time
This is one shift-ahead that has only worked in advantage for a film. Randeep Hooda's 'Risk' was originally slated to arrive in December but was eventually postponed to December 12th. While the film still faces a challenge from the mighty 'Guru' that comes on the same day, what has still worked to a good extent for it is an extensive promotional drive that has helped it gain further visibility. Makers of the film have done well in using the star power of Vinod Khanna and the rugged appeal of this Vishram Sawant film to its advantage. Result is that the film's promos have started catching up heat and those who have lived on films like 'Satya', 'Company' and other underworld films are now keenly awaiting the release of 'Risk'. Another factor that has contributed in a major way to the film catching eyeballs is Tanushree's hit number 'Hitchkee' that has picked up amazingly well amongst the masses, especially the gentry. With the film's target audience belonging to single screens regulars, 'Risk' may just turn out to be a small success at the beginning of the year.
Risk will connect to everyone, says Makrand Deshpande
After shooting for Vishram Sawant's 'Risk', the duo Makrand Deshpande and Yashpal Sharma seems to be under the inertia of the movie, found the title track (Lakho Karodon Main Koi Leta Hai Risk) from 'Risk' so impressive that Makrand named his play 'Karodon Main Ek'. In 'Risk' Makrand plays the role of Hari, right hand of the Don Khalid (Vinod Khanna) and Yashpal as Don's brother who are best of friends. It shows Makrand and Yashpal share the same bonding off-screen as they share on-screen in the film 'Risk'. 'I loved the way Vishram approached me with the script. Script is very well written, keeping in mind every possible detail by Vishram. 'Risk' will connect to everyone who takes risk in life,' says Makrand. 'Risk' directed by Vishram Sawant is set to release on 19th January 2007. So watch the duo friends playing right and left hand of underworld don Vinod Khanna in the movie 'Risk'.
Risk Public Opinion: Hit hai; Different hai
'It's different.' No, we are not talking about a brand of tomato sauce. We are talking about Vishram Sawant's 'Risk' that had its grand premiere last night at Fame Malad. Attended by the entire starcast, 'Risk' seems to have made a promising beginning. The dedicated team of Indiaglitz waited way beyond midnight to get the exclusive first reactions from the 'aam junta' who saw the first show of the film. Well, the verdict is unanimous: 'Risk' starring Vinod Khanna (making a comeback), Randeep Hooda, Tanushree Dutta, Seema Biswas and others is the kind of film that makes you sit up and notice the hard realities of life. It's not merely a cop and a don story. There are undercurrents of transformations in human relationships and the vulnerabilities infesting even a ruthless mind. The film seems to have left a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of people. It wouldn't be surprising if it emerges as the first big hit of 2007. Stay tuned to MusicMazaa as we bring you the exclusive video coverage of the Premiere Night, the reactions from Randeep Hooda and Tanushree Dutta. And of course what the ticket buying public has to say about the film.
RISK launches Rs. 45 VCD in a move against piracy
Believe it or not but the original VCDs of RISK have hit the stands at a throwaway prices of just Rs. 45/=. This is less than an average music cassette that is normally available for Rs. 55/=. In a brave move, new entrants Frankfinn have taken this bold step and are all set to launch a fight against piracy by coming up with such a low price VCD. Starring Randeep Hooda in the lead who was phenomenal in the film, RISK was a decent entertainer which unfortunately cound't quite set the box office registers ringing. Add to it the GURU mania that was sweeping the nation around it's release and RISK was soon out of the theaters. With the film's VCDs now out on stands, one hopes that now this Vishram Sawant directed film gets its due and is appreciated for its true blue masala feel!
Vinod Khanna Takes a Risk
Vinod Khanna is back in action. Literally. The actor with a stunning sex appeal was once a threat to Amitabh Bachchan with his domineering personality, cleft chin and decent acting credentials. But then he meandered towards Osho's ashram and then politics. Now, he feels he has a house to run and he better earn some good money to fend for himself. And he is also all set to make an unconventional comeback as a dehati Don in Vishram Sawant's ('D' fame) 'Risk' with Randeep Hooda as co-star. Vinod Khanna was the mainstay of films like 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar', 'Parvarish' and 'Qurbani'. Once he was back from his stint with spirituality, Khanna got into action yet again. And he is best remembered for that famous lip-lock with Madhuri Dixit in Feroze Khan's 'Dayavaan'. Vinod Khanna is the Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab and was also a minister in the union government during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure as PM. Father of famous sons Akshay and Rahul Khanna, Vinod Khanna is a contented man with a restless spirit. He wishes to get back to doing films with a vengeance, direct a film if possible and yes he would love to team up with Amitabh Bachchan once again. Welcome back Mr Khanna'
